2.0 out of 5 stars Too much talk, not enough recipes, May 29, 2012
I was very disappointed to get this cookbook and see that most recipes call for multiple vegan processed foods like tofu, soy cream cheese, soy cheese, soy milk, etc. The author makes some smug comments about not feeding her family things from a box, yet last time I checked most of the vegan analogs come in a box or bag. The few recipes I have made haven't turned out too well, making me wonder if there was any recipe testing. There are also big stories before most of the recipes that are a little too exaggerated for my taste. Yes, she's busy, but so are most moms. She only has two kids....

I will say the Spicy African Peanut Stew is amazing, but the rest of the recipes I find to be a bit uninspired. She has better recipes on her blog.

5.0 out of 5 stars Has quickly become my go-to cook book., May 29, 2012
Things I loved about this cookbook:

Clean recipes with fresh, whole ingredients
Wonderfully informative first chapter on a plant powered kitchen - lots of good information in one spot.
The majority of the recipes are soy free or have a soy-free option
All recipes are either wheat free or gluten free
Index that lets you search for recipes by ingredient
A good mix of kid friendly recipes and more flavorful `gourmet' style recipes
Most of the recipes include commentary and tips, which I think is so helpful

Things I wish were added to this cookbook:
More pictures of the recipes.
Nutritional information for the recipes.

Bottom line, I LOVE this cookbook and it is dog eared, smudged and stained to prove it.
