5.0 out of 5 stars conversational style that makes it easy to read and understand for contemporary readers, September 25, 2014
I have been looking forward to reading this book for a while and am stunned by the level of research and detail that has gone into it while being written in a friendly, conversational style that makes it easy to read and understand for contemporary readers. As an incomer to the US and the South, I had not heard any of these stories before and some are so incredible they read like fiction, even though they are all true. A tremendous read and one for anybody with an interest in contemporary racial issues and politics in modern America.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Twitter app, February 9, 2013

This review is from: Plume for Twitter (App)
Easily the best Twitter app in the Amazon app store. Easy to create multiple streams and lists, quick to update and with lots of other great features including colored tweets. My Twitter app of choice on kindle and smartphone, especially now TweetDeck hast forsaken us.

MR James really is the master of the ghost story. The unnerving feeling of another presence continually abounds leaving one always looking over ones shoulder afterwards!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another winner from Willems, November 9, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If your son or daughter loves the pigeon or knuffle bunny as much as my little boy then this DVD is perfect for them. As well as two great pigeon cartoons (voiced by Willems himself and his daughter - the later star of Knuffle Bunny!), there are two knuffle bunny cartoons, Leonardo the Terrible monster and interviews and interactive versions.

Well worth your time and money.

5.0 out of 5 stars The original and the best, October 24, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jonathan Cainer Horoscopes (App)
The only reason worth reading The Daily Mail is to see Jonathan's Horoscopes so you can imagine how delighted I was when I saw I didn't have to sully my hands or eyeballs on that rag anymore with this great app.

Easy to use, pleasant to look at on a small or bigger tablet screen - weekly, daily, monthly and yesterdays forecasts to peruse - and a snippet of Jonathan's wisdom each day too.

If you are into Astrology and Jonathan is the best forecaster I've ever read - then you will love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best activity book I have ever seen, October 24, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this book for my little boy for his 5th birthday last week because we've just got into Mo Willems and the Pigeon.

It is simply the best activity book I have ever seen. Lots of things to make and do including puppets, vehicles, maps, posters, games, etc. There is also a narrative story running through the book so it's not just "here's another picture of the pigeon to color in" - the child can read along with it and see how the story progresses!

I would have gladly paid $20 for this, so happy it's less - and I'm tempted to buy another one for him for xmas so once he has made and done all the activities, he has a complete one to read the story through again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comforting, concise and caring, March 26, 2012
I bought this book for my mother a couple of years ago after she lost both her beloved dogs of 12 and 14 years within three months of each other. People who don't have pets don't understand that the grief and remorse one feels is as much as if a close relative has passed. Jane has written an insightful and really useful book to help explain and guide somebody through the complex and emotionally difficult process of grieving for a pet.

I would highly recommend this to anybody who has suffered such a loss as it really helped my mother come to terms with an inevitable yet unwelcome event.

1.0 out of 5 stars More bullspit from the master, August 25, 2009
"One such American, Thomas Paine, was an ordinary man who changed the course of history by penning Common Sense, the concise 1776 masterpiece in which, through extraordinarily straightforward and indisputable arguments, he encouraged his fellow citizens to take control of America's future -- and, ultimately, her freedom."

When the product description is inaccurate - Paine was British - then you fear for the rest of the book. Fortunately, you need not, because as in his TV and Radio show, Beck is so far unhinged and off the rail that you would need a telescope to see him from the political centre.

Ironically, you would also need a telescope to see Paine, in the other direction - left.
