Bikini Hotel Special Edition DVD
Bikini Hotel Special Edition DVD

3.0 out of 5 stars Julie Strain Rocks A Dang Bikini!, March 19, 2012
Julie Strain is the best dang thing about this B-movie comedy. Her performance rocks as always. The rest of the dang movie is just your typical bikini movie with lots of T & A. The comedy is never laugh out loud funny, but the women keep the "film" afloat. See it if you like Julie Strain and women in dang bikinis.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Dang Good Attack!, March 19, 2012
Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold is the best dang movie I've seen in five days. It is a brilliant B-movie directed by Fred Olen Ray, who has directed like 100 B-movies. And most of them that I've seen have rocked! Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold is no different, and might be the best dang Fred Olen Ray movie I've seen. I think it is even better than Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers. It has plenty of dang nudity, comedy, and action. If you are a dang B-movie fanatic, you have to see this!

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Very Funny, December 17, 2011
Superhero Movie surprised me with pretty consistent laughs. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, since the reviews were not kind. But it ended up being almost as funny as Scary Movie 3 & Scary Movie 4, and I recommend it to fans of those movies. It's from the same producer of those two, as well, which is probably why it's so similar in tone and many of the same actors that appeared in those Scary Movie sequels appear in Superhero Movie as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Teen Slasher...With Dolls, November 13, 2011
This review is from: Doll Graveyard (DVD)
Doll Graveyard is a decent Full Moon offering, not quite as good as Full Moon's Demonic Toys or Puppet Master. But it is better than all of the sequels to those two classics. It's got a few funny scenes, courtesy of the douchebag character named Ritchie. And it has some good gore on display. This is really like a teen slasher film, only with dolls doing the killing instead of a homicidal maniac. See it if you're a Full Moon fan or a fan of killer doll flicks.

2.0 out of 5 stars Almost As Bad As People Say It Is, September 21, 2011
This review is from: Unsolved Suburbia (DVD)
Unsolved Suburbia is a gay noir drama. The cast is comprised of mostly teen characters. And boy, is it a mess! There is some humor (but not enough), and some good nudity (but again not enough). However, that's where the positives stop. Everything else, from the acting, to the pacing, to the direction is pretty bad. And the plot goes back and forth, and it makes things really confusing. How Unsolved Suburbia got released is a mystery that is and will always be "Unsolved". 2 stars out of 5 for the nudity and cute guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Big' Laughs!, September 19, 2011
This review is from: Madea's Big Happy Family (DVD)
Madea's Big Happy Family is my favorite Madea movie yet! It has big laughs and a big heart, and even made me tear up toward the end. And it has been a long, long time since a movie made me cry.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Cut Below Malevolence, But Still Worthwhile, September 17, 2011
This review is from: Bereavement (DVD)
Bereavement is a prequel to 2005's Malevolence, one of the better slasher movies of the last decade. While it isn't as good as Malevolence, Bereavement is a worthwhile movie. It has a good cast, that includes Michael Biehn (Aliens, The Terminator), some decent gore, and an interesting storyline. What it lacks is the fun slasher vibe of Malevolence. Malevolence paid homage to some of the slasher greats, such as Halloween and Friday the 13th Part 2, while Bereavement seems to be riding on the Torture Porn wave. There are numerous scenes of women chained up and screaming, and that really didn't sit well with me. The movie redeems itself later on, though, with some cool slice and dice moments. The body count really improves in the second half. And since this a slasher movie, that means the movie really improves in the second half, leading to a satisfactory conclusion that is creepy, if not surprising.

2.0 out of 5 stars Even Twilight Has More Bite Than This, July 20, 2011
This review is from: Vampire Boys (DVD)
Vampire Boys has plenty of boys, but you would never guess that they are vampires. This movie is pretty dull stuff. Even Twilight was better. And the actor who played Caleb was horrible. A lot of the dialogue was stilted, and there is very little action. I think the movie would have been more successful had it been called "Pretty Boys" instead. That's the point of this movie anyway. The point surely wasn't to entertain or to scare people. The only reason I'm giving this two stars instead of one is because there isn't an ugly person in the cast. That counts for something, right?

3.0 out of 5 stars Better Than I Expected, May 18, 2011
This review is from: Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes (DVD)
Pumpkinhead: Ashes To Ashes is the third in the Pumpkinhead series, and while it's not great, I don't understand why it got the bad reviews that it did. I think it's a pretty good tribute to the original, bringing Lance Henrickson back. Also, there is some good gore, with throat slashings and an impalement. The first half of the movie is better than the second half, though. The first half is pretty much non-stop action, but things slip a bit in the second half. It's too bad, too, because if the final half of the film would have kept the momentum going I would've given it a four star rating. But three stars isn't bad for the third in a b-movie series, I guess.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Of The Series!, May 18, 2011
Puppet Master III is the best of the Puppet Master series, at least thus far. I have yet to see a few of the later sequels, but if what I've read about them is true than they probably don't even come close to this one. Puppet Master III has a lot of action and some good gore. It also has some familiar faces that include Ian Abercrombie, Richard Lynch, and 80's b-horror queen Michelle Bauer. The main problem I had with this movie was that it was hard to understand a lot of the dialogue, either due to the sound or some thick German accents. That can be overlooked, though, when you have some fun puppets-killing-people action.
