5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for all collectors!, April 2, 2013

An outstanding book that provides an excellent overview of ancient Greek coinage. Of course, no book can cover everything but this book, while somewhat small, manages to provide considerable information as well as an abundance of excellent photographs of coin specimens. Best for someone starting out but appealing even for an advanced collector. Had this book many years ago as a teenager and now, at 56 yrs old, took the opportunity to reacquire it. I enjoy even more now! Just plain fun to look through and informative too!

A useful and durable item for the money! While it is made of plastic, if you use it as you would any piece of photo equipment, it should last a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars The camera's history, finally!, February 3, 2010

Finally we have a book that explores the history of the equipment that makes the photograph possible rather than a history through photographs! Many books calling themselves histories of photography look only at the photographs via people such as Brady and Adams. While the photograph is obviously the ultimate goal of any photographer many have an acute interest in the equipment and science behind it. Many, such as myself, even collect old photo equipment. Whether professional or amateur, if you are fascinated by cameras and other photographica, you need this book! Beautifully illustrated and well written, its scope superbly covers a much neglected subject.

This review is from: All It Takes (Audio CD)
All it takes to become addicted to rick Braun is listening to this CD.
It's quality Braun all the way with a few twists. His tributes to artists such as Herb Alpert and Freddie Hubbard reflect their styles in such a way that you can almost hear them playing the piece with him. The CD as a whole is lively and entertaining. Parts of it are classic Braun type pieces without being boring or old hat. I have all of Rick Braun's work and I believe this is his best work in a while. I would put it on a par with "Beat Street".

5.0 out of 5 stars An Ocean in the Palm of Your Hand, January 27, 2007

A beautiful book to view, it is as informative as it is attractive! DK books usually rely quite heavily on excellent photographs and illustrations and this book continues that trend. The almost chart-like layout of the pages makes this book very easy to use while also being very entertaining and just plain fun to look at. It's a great book for people of all interest levels. Not too simple but at the same time not too complex. If you're interested in ocean life, you'll want this book!
