5.0 out of 5 stars Highly addictive!, July 3, 2006
This review is from: Loose (Audio CD)
I'm really impressed with this new cd from Nelly Furtado. I've known her music since she came out, and it was pleasant enough, but didn't interest me enough to pick up a cd. That is until LOOSE. At first I skoffed at the idea of her adopting a more R&B/hip hop sound, but it works. Timbaland produced much of the album, and is featured on the track "Promiscuous", which is very memorable. So is "Maneater", another great track. In fact, most of the songs here will make you want to dance. Even the songs she doesn't sing in English, "No Hay Igual" and "Te Busque" are very enjoyable. There are some great club tracks like "Glow", "Do it". Overall very impressed...definately the party album of 2006 so far!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, June 30, 2006
This review is from: Fortuneteller's Melody (Audio CD)
I really enjoy the latest CD from SHeDAISY "Fortunetellers Melody". I think it is their most cohesive and enjoyable album yet! There are a lot of fun uptempo songs, and some beautiful ballads that make up this wonderful album. The first single was the fiesty "I'm Taking The Wheel", and the new single is "In Terms of Love". It is a beautiful ballad with great songwriting. Their harmonies are present throughout. They collaborated with Sheryl Crow, who helped pen 2 songs on here, the fun uptempo "Whatever It Takes" and the moving ballad "Healing Side". Other highlights include "23 Days", "Bring It On Back", "Burn Down The House", "Kickin In" and more. Check it out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Reba Collection, June 30, 2006
This review is from: Reba #1's (Audio CD)
This is a great collection, even though it's misleading, of Reba's hits. Not all of these songs went to #1. An impressive 22 of these songs did however. This is a really comprehensive collection of Reba's MCA hits. I don't like how the new tracks are placed at the beginning of each disc, but it's just a minor complaint. Everything from emotional ballads like "Whoever's In New England", "Somebody Should Leave", "You Lie", "Rumor Has It", "It's Your Call", "For My Broken Heart", "And Still" and "What Do You Say", to uptempo tracks like "The Fear of Being Alone", "Little Rock", "Walk On", and more. Definately worth having in your music collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars LeAnn is a class act, June 30, 2006
This review is from: Whatever We Wanna (Audio CD)
LeAnn Rimes returns to the pop world with her new cd WHATEVER WE WANNA. It has only been released in the UK, where her pop music fared better than it did in the US. The album has two first singles, the anthem "Strong" is the first single in Germany, and the emotional ballad "And it Feels Like" is the first single in the rest of the UK. The latter is a great ballad with a swooping chorus and moving lyrics delivered by LeAnn's great voice, sounding better than ever. The rest of the album is a collection of uptempo songs and ballads. LeAnn has an amazing voice and has proved throughout her career she can handle any type of music. There are lots of great songs throughout, but my favorites are "Satisfied", "Long Night", "Break Me Down", the title track, "Strong", "And It Feels Like", and "Save Myself". A great album!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good album, March 6, 2006
This review is from: Regina Regina (Audio CD)
I remember seeing the video for "More Than I Wanted to Know" in late 1996 on CMT. I was a fan right then and there. This was their only album. I think one of the girls died a few years ago. It's a shame country radio never picked up on this duo. They have great harmonies. There are nice ballads like "She'll Let That Telephone Ring", "Asking For The Moon", and fun uptempo's like "More Than I wanted To Know", "Right Plan Wrong Man", "Border Town Road" and more. Definately a talented duo that made a great cd!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, February 1, 2006
This review is from: 29 (Audio CD)
Ryan Adams released an unheard of 3 albums in 2005. 29 was the last album, and the only solo album he did in 2005 (the other two were with his new band The Cardinals). This CD is reminiscent of LOVE IS HELL. It's very dark, poetic, brooding. There are a few standouts for me, and those are "Blue Sky Blues", "Night Birds", "The Sadness", "Starlite Diner" and "Voices". The whole CD is good, 9 songs, pretty short, but quality throughout!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gonna Breakthrough, February 1, 2006
This review is from: The Breakthrough (Audio CD)
I haven't enjoyed a Mary J Blige album this much since her 1999 MARY album. This seems to be a really personal album for Mary, but in many of the songs she channels this into making anthems. The first single "Be Without You" is instantly catchy, classic R&B ballad. The first 8 tracks of this cd are amazing, notably the opener "No One Will Do", the anthems "Gonna Breakthrough" and "Good Woman Down", and "Enough Cryin". On "Enough Cryin" and "Gonna Breakthrough", Mary raps. They are hot songs! I hope "Enough Cryin" is a single at some point. The latter part of the disc is much more ballad oriented, with some great ones like "Father In You", "Ain't Really Love", and "I Found My Everything". Overall a great cd!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Aretha, December 11, 2005
This review is from: Spirit in the Dark (Audio CD)
This is definately an overlooked Aretha Franklin album. While it's not her best of her Atlantic albums, it still holds it's own and is very consistent. Some really inspired cover song choices, the best being her version of "Oh No Not My Baby". This album features the most of her own compositions, 5 in total. She sounds refreshed and overall it's an enjoyable album start to finish.

4.0 out of 5 stars Madonna's best since Ray of Light, December 8, 2005
Madonna returns with a great comeback album! CONFESSIONS ON A DANCEFLOOR is filled with songs that will make you want to move! I love all of the songs...I think they are all great for different reasons. The best songs for me though are "Get Together", "Jump", "Push", "Forbidden Love" and "Future Lovers". She has crafted a great dance album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great debut, December 8, 2005
This review is from: Some Hearts (Audio CD)
I'm not a fan of American Idol nor do I watch it. But when I heard about Carrie Underwood, I admit I was curious. I was not disapointed at all! She has a great voice and has a nice collection of songs here. "Wasted" is a great song to set the album off with. The first single "Jesus Take The Wheel" is climbing the charts and is a great emotional song. Ohter favorites of mine include "That's Where it Is", "I Just Can't Live A Lie" and "Starts With Goodbye". The album is strong and there isn't one weak track here!
