3.0 out of 5 stars But like so many other books concerning Israel, January 26, 2015
As a strong supporter of Israel and as someone who remembers well the bombing of bus #18, I looked forward to reading this book. But like so many other books concerning Israel, I wondered whether the author could tell this story without PC, without moral equivalence, and without an agenda. He could not. On page 24 appeared the first of several mentions of Boruch Goldstein, the Israeli doctor who murdered many Palestinians in Hebron years ago. What does Goldstein have to do with the murder of Israeli civilians, on bus #18 and in too many such attacks to name? It's called moral equivalence - in order to balance the dozens of attacks on Israeli civilians, the author had the need to repeat over and over the ONE time that a deranged Israeli did something as heinous.

There was something else troubling about the author's approach to this book and it involves his making the young couple on bus #18 the centerpiece of the story rather than Aliza Flatow, even though it was Aliza's father who was the driving force behind the current lawsuit against Iran for their support of these terrorist attacks. The author seems to put extra weight on the killings of Duker and Eisenfeld because both were less than Orthodox in their practice and supposedly enamored of the Oslo Accords. In other words, they were the kind of Jews that the author could identify with. Flatow was unambiguously Orthodox, perhaps eliciting less sympathy in being so.

There is no moral equivalence between Israel and the savages who invented the suicide vest. None. No one in Israel now supports the Oslo Accords because they were a farce from the start. We all now know that Arafat was behind ALL of the terror, as he was wined and dined in Europe and the US. And the murder of a "settler" is no less grievous than the murder of Jews who are liked by the NY Times. This author is far less offensive than most "even-handed" reporters of the conflict but offensive nonetheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a two-fer - if you hate both the Clintons and the Obamas, October 28, 2014
This is a two-fer - if you hate both the Clintons and the Obamas, you get the dirt on both of them in this book. Evil vs incompetent? That's a tough choice. Maybe the people will wise up and vote in a normal person next time.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Book about Nothing?, September 27, 2014
Bongino is clearly a very good man but did not have a compelling story to tell. He didn't take a bullet for a POTUS and he didn't win an election. But with so many reviews, he obviously sold lots of books. I think I'll forget I read this by tomorrow.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Jew Hater's History of Gaza, September 23, 2014
I knew what I was getting when I saw this book in the library: A French Arabist's "history" of Gaza and its wars with Israel. And that's what this is. Our author manages to tell us whether the civilian killed by Israel was a baby or a infant but we are not told any details of Israel civilian dead. Bad, bad Jews, good, good Palestinians. Yawn, been there, read that. I didn't finish this book but I doubt I missed any surprises.

4.0 out of 5 stars after a great game, might be declared the great QB ever ..., September 18, 2014
This review is from: Killing Jesus (Hardcover)
A very interesting book, especially for someone with little or no knowledge of the Jesus story and his times. I suspect that Dugard put every word to paper and that O'Reilly takes the credit, but that is a separate matter.

So was Jesus the son of god? Nothing in this book will convince the rational reader that he was. People believe what they want to believe, thus an OJ covered in his victims' blood was though innocent by millions of supposedly rational people. Thus a QB, after a great game, might be declared the great QB ever by a multitude of sports pundits. Thus a slick huckster can sell 1000s of needy people that he is the messiah who has come to alleviate their suffering. There were many false gods before and after Jesus, but Jesus was clearly the best of his kind.

It has been said and written many places and many times that more people have been killed in the name of Jesus than in the name of any person in the history of the world, an idea worth pondering.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's OK, like Amazon, August 29, 2014
I've read a lot of such books about successful people. They follow the same basic lines: Challenging childhoods, breaking from traditional education and/or jobs, risk-taking, chance of disaster, pissing employees and/or others off, victory. Bezos is less interesting than Jobs but more interesting than Gates. Amazon is a great success but not a company that fundamentally changed people's lives, as Apple and Google have. Then again, Amazon provides a really useful service, as opposed to FACEBOOK.

What makes this book interesting is not Bezos but how Amazon was built, how it made it through the dot.com bubble, and how it has successfully competed with Barnes and Noble and now Walmart. The book touches on ebay, which to me is the far better and more unique buying experience. I buy almost everything except cars and food online, and in 99 out of 100 cases, ebay offers the much better price not to mention a far greater and variety of choices. I suspect the founder of ebay was much less obnoxious than Bezos or Jobs so most of us have no idea who this genius is.

4.0 out of 5 stars It might be as simple as the fact that the better parties in Georgetown are hosted by liberals, August 9, 2014
For those interested in how Obamacare came into existence and how Chief Justice Roberts "saved" it, this book is essential reading.
It reflects the vast political and social divide in this country as well as the power of the media to influence even the Supreme Court.

Why did Roberts switch his vote? It might be as simple as the fact that the better parties in Georgetown are hosted by liberals. Maybe he just wanted the NY Times to love him and not hate him. At the core, most of life is high school.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black on white crime! The final frontier. The ..., July 28, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Black on white crime! The final frontier. The place where even FOX dares not go. The topic around virtually every white dinner table
but the topic that no public person dares to even allude to. But this author dared to go there, and now we should all go there.

The key to the book is the links to YouTube videos of black mobs attacking whites. You can't make this stuff up - these are actual incidents that were investigated by the police and buried, and reported by the media without the racial connotation. Indeed, when ANY of us hear that a group of teens attacked someone, we KNOW the teens are black WITHOUT seeing a video or being given that info by the media. We know because we are not stupid - spend enough time in any big city and you will have seen many cases of this yourself.

Part of the answer is for GOP candidates for elective office to start making 'law and order" part of their campaigns. White people will know what this refers to and will vote in such candidates. And when these people get into office, they must set the police loose on these thugs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book on Why Germany turned Nazi, July 18, 2014
It has been my opinion since my youth that the holocaust was motivated mostly by envy of Jewish success, and this is, to my knowledge, the first book that researches this theory. Stat after stat shows that Jews were disproportionately represented in the most prestigious positions in Germany going back 100 years before Hitler. In fact I was surprised by the many quotes of non-Jewish Germans confessing to the superiority of Jews in the intellectual fields. It did not take much to turn the dim-witted masses in Germany into Hitler's willing executioners.

Yet I'm sure there was envy of Jews in all of Europe yet only Germany became the mass murder on the scale of the holocaust. I have been to Germany several times, as well as to other capitals in Europe, and I always notice that there is an anger in Germans that I simply don't see in other peoples. The level of hatred in the faces of angry Germans is unlike anything I have seen on a large scale in other angry peoples, this despite the fact that Germany is now a modern democratic country and a good citizen of the world. Maybe it's just something in the German DNA that can never really change..

5.0 out of 5 stars Ding dong the thug is dead, July 16, 2014
Couldn't find this book in any library, hmmm.

It is the true story of what happened to George Zimmerman that night and thereafter until July 13, 2013 when the nonsense came to an end. It was a victory for the normal over the afro-limited and their white liberal apologists. Poor Trayvon thought he would teach that short, fat white guy a lesson for following him, but he picked the wrong short, fat white guy. Now there is one less thug in the world, so this is one story with a happy ending.

I also read Bloom's SUSPICION NATION, and there is no comparison. Where Bloom's book is based almost entirely on what Bloom FEELS about the case, this book has FACTS. Only this book tells us what was not allowed to be entered into evidence about Saint Trayvon: He was caught with stolen jewelry, suspended any number of times for fighting and defacing public property, punched a bus driver and boasted about it, etc. Indeed he was in Sanford because his mother threw him out of her home. Trayvon has become a thug, and he died like a thug.
