5.0 out of 5 stars great item to keep in the car, July 17, 2016

Length:: 3:00 Mins

This is a great product, excellent for keeping in the trunk of the car. For anyone wanting a back-up starter system for their car should the battery ever fail then this is a brilliant device. It is much more practical than the heavy lumpy boxes that you used to have to use. The size is compact and portable, perfect for keeping in the car and it comes in a handy portable hard case. The case weighs just under 1.22kg and measures about 23cm x 12.5cm x 10cm.

Charging the unit is easy. You have the option of charging it through the mains or the car cigarette lighter socket. Both cables are included in the pack to do this, and the mains connector has the standard 3-pin socket. It’s more than just an engine starter of course. As an emergency power source to have in your car it is very useful, and it comes with a plethora of connectors for phones, laptops, devices, etc. The charging bank itself measures about 16.5cm x 9cm with a thickness of around 3.5cm. It has two USB sockets, the output and input sockets, on/off switch, power switch, and an LED display. It's really clear and easy to use. When you switch it on the LED display lights up and shows you that the voltage is at 5.0, by pressing the power button you can change to 12v, 16v, and 19v. As an extra safety feature it also has a torch with emergency flashing light modes. The instruction booklet is fine and tells you what you need to know in a clear easy to understand way. The unit itself feels strong and well made.

Overall, this an excellent product and a great kit to have in the boot of the car. It's quality made, nice looking, easy to use, and I really like also that it all comes nicely compact and in its own case.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great Hammock - perfect for camping and in the garden, April 3, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great hammock. You never can tell when ordering online items like this online how the quality is going to be, but no worries with this one, it’s a proper product.

Firstly, it comes nicely packed. All of it fits into it’s own little portable drawstring bag which measures just around 20cm x 16cm and weighs approx 628 gm. So it’s convenient and portable for camping trips and days in the park. The bag is actually connected to the hammock and acts as a pocket when erected so no worries about losing it. Also in the bag you get you a pair of heavy duty holding ropes.

Fixing up was no problems, standard hammock stuff. Carabiners are nice and strong which is reassuring. Fabric is really good, Parachute Nylon as stated, so construction wise it’s top-notch. It’s a real decent size with plenty of material both length and width ways so you should have no concerns there.

Overall, it’s a great Hammock and you couldn’t want for anything more really. It’s strong, portable, and looks nice. Perfect for camping or setting up in the garden.

How to Eat a Rainbow (First Edition)

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful, December 23, 2015
Length:: 2:16 Mins

'How to Eat a Rainbow' is magical cookbook for kids. As a book simply to look at, it's delightful, with pictures of Pixies and Fairies in nature. But it's more than this of course, it's a book of excellent recipes, which are natural, healthy, vegan, and raw. And the recipes are certainly good enough for adults to use.

There are twenty-two recipes here for children to select from. And to make with a little help from a grown-up. These are colourful recipes, with magical names like Flower Petal Salad, Rainbow Flan, and Apple Moon Pie. The list is divided into three sections; Snacks and Sides, Smoothies and Elixirs, and Treats and Sweets. The back of the book has a glossary of healthy ingredients that are used, such as Olive Oil, Dates, Goji Berries, etc. There is also an explanation of the cooking implements that the children will use - these are called Fairy Tools. And I should also mention that there is a Certificate of Fairy Cookery, which can be filled in and given to a child once they have merited it. This can be cut out and presented, or left in the book.

This is a wonderful book, superbly put together by Elle and Sabrina Bedford. It is a book for kids, but don't be mistaken into thinking that because of this the recipes are going to be shallow and of little worth. No, these are proper recipes which without doubt, are good enough to be used by adults. There is no reason why an adult shouldn't buy this book for themselves. However, the true value of the book for me, is as a starter cookbook for children. And it will start them on the road to eating wonderful, natural, healthy food, which hopefully they will carry with them throughout their adult life. How to Eat a Rainbow helps kids to discover the enjoyment of cooking and the wonder of nature's larder, and it's all done with a sprinkling of magic dust.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toiletry Bag for Travel - Quality made and Stylish, December 12, 2015
Length:: 1:35 Mins

This is a great travel bag in every way, the quality is first class. Good metal zips, great stitching, and strong rip-stop material. The bag looks really stylish too, particularly the material which is superb, smooth and shiny with a honeycombed effect.

The design is top notch notch, and they seem to have thought of everything. The main centre section has plenty of space for your toiletries, and has 7 pockets for storage. These are in a variety of sizes and are meshed to allow air circulation. the closing flap has 2 zipped pockets - also meshed. The sides of the bag open up to reveal 2 more compartments, the inside of the flaps have elasticated bands to hold the likes of toothbrushes, trimmers, toothpaste, razors, etc. Once opened up the bag has a hook so can be hung up ready to use.

It's an excellent Toiletries Travel Bag for sure. It's quality made and looks really smart. Would definitely recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spiritual Wisdom, October 24, 2015
This is an excellent 'Spiritual Book'. I would recommend it for anyone seeking to make that connection. To have that moment (often fleeting) when you feel connected to something all encompassing, peaceful, blissful, love, the Divine, God . . . .if you've had these moments you'll know what I'm talking about. Sometimes it takes just quietness, and a few written words to do this, and this book contains such words.

These are the teachings of Peter Deunov, who lived between the years of 1864 and 1944. The book is basically made up of a selection of his words and quotations (similar to something like Eckhart Tolle's 'Stillness Speaks'). There is a written introduction by Wayne Dyer, and then the rest is the sayings. These are divided into categories; God, The Noetic World, The Divine School, Fundamental Principles of Life (Love, Wisdom, Truth, Freedom), Divine & Natural Law, The Human Being (Consciousness, Spirit, Soul, Mind & Thought, Heart, Feelings, Desires, Will, Human Conduct, physical Body), Methods, Rules and Recommendations for Life (Daily Practice, Sleep, Prayer & Contemplation, Concentration, Health, Nutrition, Fasting, Water, Breathing, Purity, Cleansing, Movement, Work, Virtues), Relations with Nature (The Sun, The Mountain), The New Epoch (The Future Culture).

Don't worry it's not as heavy as it sounds. And don't be put off by the fact that Duenov lived between the years of 1864-1944. This stuff is being said today, by modern authors of the New Age genre such as Tolle and Dyer, and if you like their sayings then you should like this. Because it's old it doesn't mean that it's hard to understand. Far from it, these are little snippets of spiritual wisdom, they certainly resonated with me, hopefully they will for you.

A delightful book, recommended for anyone who feels deep down that there is so much more than this material world that we find ourselves in, and who wants to connect with something bigger, as well as their true nature. This is a book for your collection, and a book that you will keep in your collection, to go back to again and again when you need a few words of wisdom.

Here's a couple of the quotes contained within. To give you an idea what the book is like, it's made of this sort of thing:

Joy: Everybody emerging from the tunnel to meet the first ray of sun feels a great joy that they have come out of the valley of their lives. Every person should feel that joy.

God: When you give the first place to God within you, then He will be able to help people and all living creatures.

The Human Being: When a person's cosmic consciousness is awakened, they feel an unusual joy, of which nobody can deprive them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never mind the b******s here's Morrissey !, August 1, 2015
This review is from: Autobiography (Paperback)
A thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish. Morrissey has his own style of writing, and as with his speaking he gets straight to the point and says it as it is - no going around the houses or beating about the bush here. Combine this style of writing with interesting topics and a genuine author and you have a book that is absorbing and hard to put down.

The autobiography (naturally) starts with his childhood. His schooldays with it's sadistic and twisted teachers, and the dark austere times of growing up in 60's/70's Manchester. The teenage years reveal Morrissey's love of music, which clearly served as an escape from the pain-ridden surroundings that he found himself in. Being of a similar age as Morrissey I particularly found interest in the music of the time that he was picking up on, and the bands that took his interest (and possibly providing influence for later years); he was a big New York Dolls fan. This section of the book is full of interest, as well as great little anecdotes - like obtaining autographs of famous people, and his experience on the set of Coronation Street.

Next up are The Smiths days. The beginnings of the Morrissey/Marr partnership. How it all got started with Rough Trade. The recordings, the touring, the press, the record companies, and much information about what really went on behind the scenes - and the truth can only be known from the 'horse's mouth.' I for one was unaware of the extent that Morrissey had to endure regarding the legalities of The Smiths, and how he and Marr were 'stitched up' by the music-biz. And worse was later to come, with the shameless money-grabbing of ex Smiths members. How a person is prepared to lose all their self-respect and dignity for the sake of money. Pitiful, talentless individuals, leeching off the talent of another. The details of what happened in Court and the behaviour of the Solicitors and Judges was no surprise to me. They are the despicable face of modern (and old) England, and Morrissey is someone in the public eye rare enough to see through it and brave enough to speak up about it. Naturally, this corrupt and unjust 'System' was always going to lay into him and hang him out to dry - and it surely did. The gutter press is also touched upon here. Whatever has happened in the past though, Morrissey comes out the winner in my eyes. He has his dignity and self-respect as a human being, and his talent will always be there. A successful solo career and a top selling book proves this - Morrissey prevails in the end.

The last part of the book covers the Morrissey years (as opposed to The Smiths). The years on the road touring, the fanatical fans and the gigs that have been lodged in his memory. He mentions his time in L.A, his love of Scandinavia, and his affinity with his Mexican fans. It's a successful time for Morrissey, both on the road and commercially (despite the anti media), and it is here that he seems most contented - "Yet the cost of such a life had led me to return in triumph, even if it would only be the sort of gift that God would give to someone whom he knew had suffered."

I loved Morrissey's book from start to finish. I found it absorbing and well written. Full of great factual content and peppered with interesting little anecdotes concerning the famous - i.e.: Bowie, Siouxsie, Charles Hawtrey, Alan Bennett, Mick Ronson, (the family of) James Dean, Ron Mael, Eric Cantona, Nancy Sinatra, Peter Wyndgarde, Dirk Bogarde, Kirsty McColl, Chrissie Hynde, etc, etc. And it's peppered with the thought provoking statements that you would expect form Morrissey - "There are more stolen goods in either Buckingham Palace or the British Museum than the Mexican poor could ever get their hands on. Yet, the people of Mexico are largely unable to move or to progress, and although their toil and labor has built most of America, modern America does its utmost to keep them from joining in." The tale of the event on the Moors on a dark and misty night is a delightful addition.

I admire Morrissey, both as an artist and as a person. This may be due to the fact that I agree with absolutely everything that he says. It's so refreshing to hear someone famous use their voice to say something meaningful, worthwhile, and truthful - to see it as it is and to say it as it is. Whether it be about corrupt politicians, the repulsive and obnoxiousness of Royalty, or the despicable treatment of animals and the hypocrites who say they 'love animals' yet are happy to cause their suffering, torture, and death by living off their corpses. Morrissey will always have the establishment against him because he reveals the truth, and for most the truth is better kept hidden or ignored. But thankfully more and more people are seeing through the 'garbage' that is inherent in our Society and the World in general. And our Society and the World desperately needs people like Morrissey now.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good machine for visual light effects whilst listening to music, June 13, 2015
The Kasina is a nice machine. A way of listening to music and noise effects along with a visual colour light experience through the glasses. It has a nice feel to it, seems solid and well made, and is easy enough to use the controls to play.

There are various programmes to play which last between 15-40 minutes with various light effects. Themes like A Starlit Night, Dream, Meditation with Shaman, Dreamy Sax, etc. There are specific programs for sleep, memory, rejuvenation, etc. Basically you choose your category and the machine will play the music along with the corresponding light sequences. The music and noise effects are actually very good and a lot of thought seems to have gone into them

You can add your own music to the machine (and get a light show with it) by transferring the music from your computer to the SD card that the player uses. There isn't a huge space on the SD card so you won't be able to store a large collection on it, just a few albums really but you can always change them when you want. For Mac users you will have to convert your I-tunes files into a different format first (mp3) as it won't recognise them otherwise. This isn't hard to do and you will still retain the original I-tunes format as well. Bare in mind that you won't be able to use any music purchased from i-tunes as they don't let you change the files, but you can use music from your i-tunes library that you have put on yourself from a CD.

I'm happy with the Kasina but for me it is let down slightly by the absence of good, detailed instructions. It needs a booklet to explain how to do things clearly and take away confusion. It does include a download whereby you can create your own programs, I'd like to do this but it's far too complicated for me, probably good for computer geeks though.

The Kasina has a back-up service which I have experienced, and their service was first class.

It's a machine that produces nice effects to music. I'm after a bit more from my player. I'm hoping for some kind of mind shift or astral travel, an OBE type experience, a pineal gland awakening or a floaty dream trip. I'll continue to experiment with the Kasina and if I get any success I will update my review accordingly.

5.0 out of 5 stars a quality speaker, May 21, 2015
I am really pleased with this speaker. The first thing you notice is the quality of it. The pictures aren't able to show it but it really has a quality look and feel to it. It is very solid with a smooth rubbered feel.

So the look and feel is great - how about the sound? Well, for a speaker this size it is excellent. The sound is clear, there's enough bass (unlike many), and it has a decent sound level.

Bluetooth was easy to set up and it comes with the USB charging lead. It seems to have a really good holding charge too. Controls on the front are nice and simple to use.

From a portable bluetooth speaker you couldn't want for more. We have two other bluetooth mini speakers in the house which were cheaper than this - but they are also inferior. This is far better, in both sound and build. In my opinion, for what you get it is value for money. I am very pleased with this and would definitely recommend it - it's a quality product.

5.0 out of 5 stars an excellent cycling safety aid, April 26, 2015
I really like this. It has different uses, but for me it's all about being seen whilst cycling. I regularly cycle when it's dark and I never feel totally safe with my standard bike safety lights - I feel a lot safer wearing this.

It lights up really bright with a choice of permanent light, fast flashing or slower flashing. It's simple to change the settings and you can do this with whilst wearing the belt by just clicking the front of the belt next to the buckle. The centre zipper opens up as described so you I can store small items like keys or money whilst cycling - it will hold items up to about 25mm in width.

When ordering online you never know about the quality of the product that you're buying until you actually get it. The quality can sometimes be very good but sometimes it can be cheap and nasty. This falls into the 'very good' category. Its well made with strong material, sturdy buckle and good stitching, and I'm expecting to get some good years usage from this.

I can't comment on the other uses but as a safety cycling aid it is excellent.
