5.0 out of 5 stars he killed an alligator in the head with this knife, or one exactly - exactly like it on Swamp People, April 13, 2015
i havent bought this knife and am putting it into my cart now, -- so i am researching what knife was used on Swamp People on History channel to kill an alligator... yeah, thats right, there i am sitting and this guy stabs an alligator in the head with a pocket knife. i have the screenshot frozen on my TV of him back in the boat - clear vid cap; and have scrolled through hundreds of knives on amazon and this matches exactly with what he used to kill an alligator, in the head, just another day in LA. so for $12 you got to ask yourself why wouldn't you buy it... kind of humorous reason to recommend it, i am buying it just for the story. cant believe i found the match and its $12, i will put this next to the fancy ones...

3.0 out of 5 stars the Army thing feels kind of shameful now that i look at it, plus tough blade to get real sharp imho, April 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
tough to sharpen well, the balance feels great but the blade is not sharp - sheath really bonus to the price, so no complaints; the Army tag is only commercial as there is no historical or usage significance to this knife model. scratched the black paint going after the sharp edge... its negatives would drop with price, its really a $10 knife with a $10 sheath...

5.0 out of 5 stars this is my favorite under under $15 knife, always the second knife choice when hiking etc., April 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
for the price, the handle and blade are worthy of owning this. of all the knives cheap and expensive, i always take this one along too. with a tight grip its impossible to lose your grip on this knife. blade came sharp, easy to sharpen further... sheath adequate. its not a big knife, small blade. buy it.

1.0 out of 5 stars do not buy, i have four real reasons why this knife is dangerous to the user and why i consider it a toy now, April 8, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
the knife when struck on a table will collapse the blade back in, in other words if you actually use it - the blade will pop back. in essence this is a giant piece of crap knife and let me explain why... besides the fact it doesnt actually work, there is no advantage to this style of knife in a logical self defense purpose. the safety switch is at the base of the knife meaning when you hold it you cannot with one hand unlock that safety and continue to push up the knife to release it, assisted release moot. the safety motion then into the slide release is difficult with one hand, almost impossible... your thumb has to travel the whole distance of the knife to do this... i can open my folding knife manually faster than the fumbling three steps to get this knife out. also if you get any blood/liquid on this knife there is no way to clean inside the mechanism - try air blast or soaking it in water (understanding the spring shouldnt be accessible but how do you clean it?). here is what triggered my review after so many months of owning this thing - when you push the release to have the blade go back into the handle, the blade drops as it should - a slight quarter inch and it sets up on the spring to be slid back into the handle, this is what you have to do to put the knife away. well, once you hit the lock release the blade can and will slide along you finger! there is a cut risk to putting this away (and a collapse risk to using it, ouch!). i almost couldnt use this knife at night, the feel to operate defeats any purpose to purchase. it is no wonder the price on these slowly drops over time. for self defense this is not recommended and will cause harm to the owner. recap: (1) when stabbed into a hard surface the blade actually releases causing pain on the hand from the spring slider - i stabbed my folding table and the thing goes limp, (2) the safety switch combined with the spring release near each other at the base of the knife and not where you finally rest your palm requires you to seat the knife at the base and then slide your hand along the length of the blade -- single hand usage difficult and certainly not a smooth or speedy operation, (3) cleaning is impossible once blade retracted, (4) you can cut your finger when the blade releases to be put back into handle because the top release button is next to the gravity dropping knife blade. DO NOT BUY THIS KNIFE FOR ANY REASON other than to play with it on your sofa... (last observation - if some reason you retract the knife with the safety still on, which you can do and it makes a lock feel as if you did it OK, then the tip of the knife will protrude from the handle case, like a small death point waiting for your wits to realize its not actually harnessed into the handle). Its a toy...i repeated/re-tripped all these complaints just now before posting this DO NOT BUY review...

1.0 out of 5 stars d.o.a. - dead on arrival as the locking mechanism doesn't function and the blade swings wildly!!! zero trust... unsafe, February 22, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
a sign of no quality control since this arrived broken with the locking mechanism non-existent. the blade literally falls in and out of the fold... it is hard to criticize the under $10 knives out there, but to have something arrive useless tells me there is no QA before going into the retail boxes, i think you would have to had knowingly put this broken knife in the box and shipped it - the blade swings from it!... think about that as you wield this or any cheap knife - are you and your fingers counting on the lock to work? -- "can't afford the cheap stuff", so i knew at the price what its worth, but dead on arrival is a fail. this was my lesson not to buy cheap knives for any justification. now i look at my other ones and they all become box openers...

2.0 out of 5 stars the wheel system and weight distribution are worrisome, January 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
on carpet i could think this a worry - concern over how the wheels work... they sit under the unit and spread out on hinges. because the front end of the unit is so heavy i often have a fear and subsequent super slow fear move anytime i move this an inch or more... there are no handles to move it, the cord is short - as it looked to be tipping over i have grabbed the hot metal more than once, i attack it with oven mitts now. as the wheels give no confidence to the base this is not recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars no travel to this... works stationary best, January 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
no inserts... as an empty box there are more creative purchases for pocket watch display - give this credit for a stationary perhaps in case display. travel how? if there is no insert, foam or anything, what makes this "travel"? if your watches are of value, i would think a hard case with custom foam inserts is really for travel. its simply not for carrying/travel. it works fine sitting in a drawer.

2.0 out of 5 stars just not worthy enough... all contents will slide around, January 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
single clasp worries me, the watches will all slam around inside because the layer they sit in has minimum ledge. since it feels like a portfolio you want to carry it, but there is no stay put to the holder inside the case. foam cuts would only work here, so the product doesnt really succeed in its purpose as a watch display.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent fun, strong desire to buy 6, January 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
sometimes you want to feel silver, cant explain - but this is a great thing for holding and playing with, a curiosity conversation driver. for sure its a mold of a bullet, no function here for amateur vampire hunters. however, imagine a bandoleer of 50 of these for a costume! send me the invite please to that party in case you fall asleep with $400 of silver... see? just writing the review got me going, that's how fun and recommended this is! how about make a vampire gift set with six of these, wood stakes, garlic, et al. or steam-punk thing here? it never ends...

1.0 out of 5 stars my little cousin prints these, its very inkjet!, January 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
i do believe someone is printing on a home sticker inkjet and selling these, i would not use this for anything than a kid's notebook cover. it is home made. there is a general fade i would see from a home printer. no reason to buy this imho.
