I just want to reiliterate that I do not think that the Cranberries IS a rock band to begin with thus comments from supercilious pansophists like 'You think that they will learn how to write proper rock lyrics' cannot be justified at all.
One of their most special captivating quality to me, besides their musical style, is that their lyrics are simple surface-wise, but a careful observant will realised that they are really facetious! Besides, I rather that they keep their lyrics brief and get the message across rather than what most lyricians does nowadays~ go on and on and on about the same thing..drugs, sex, violence, your so-call 'rock' lyrics?
Of course, they don't make commercial music and some will dismiss them as the band who is way too loud and repeats their lines over and over again but I think such jejune comments are disrespectful, not only to the artiste, but to their fans like me, who likes them for the axact same reason as the one who does not like them. I hope reviewers adopt a more lattitudinarian attitude towards the diversity in music style and appreciate that if everyone sounds the same and sing the same way, what is the point of making music?
