5.0 out of 5 stars Full of hard-won wisdom. Must read for those in this rapidly growing field!, June 9, 2015

This book is a gift for all of us whose jobs involve improving customers lives. The Chief Customer Officer role is a relatively new phenoma and one that is rapidly growing. Jeanne is out front for all of us, having served in this role at multiple Fortune 500 companies. She unselfishly shares her battle-tested wisdom and includes fantastic real life anecdotes from other practitioners. Whether you in government, non-profit or Fortune 500, big or small organization, in any industry, this book is a must read!

Plan and simple: One of the most inspiring books I've ever read. I loved "Act of Valor" and this is even better. Authentic, honest, courageous -- an inspiring story about the men who comprise the most awesome elite force in the world.

This book is about so much more than MMA. GSP is a thinking person's warrior who has embraced the best of martials arts philosophy and who uses an intelligent, never-ending quest for improvement to dominate a brutal sport. Huge respect for GSP and the thoughtfulness and honesty of this book!

This review is from: Waging Heavy Peace (Hardcover)
Neil Young is one of the true 60's artists still going strong and making music with purity, passion and spirit. This book tells the story of his life today in the same simple bold strokes he uses in his music. Inspiring and real.

4.0 out of 5 stars Honest, raw, sad -- like the music scene it chronicles, April 10, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A great oral history of grunge and seattle music in the last 20 years. Captures the joy and excitement of the music as well as the tremendous sadness and tragedy around the deaths of some of its heroes, such as Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley. Very worth reading. The only thing missing for me was any insight or discussion of the artistic process or the music itself. Still, highly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars fluff, potato chips, a postcard, April 10, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is fluff. I read it in about 12 minutes. Good reminder of things you already know sprinkled with inspiring quotes from famous people. If you want a light easy read with a few good ideas, go for it. But don't kid yourself -- there is nothing new or particularly thought-provoking here. You'd be better off reading a couple months worth of Seth Godin posts for free. Or go read a serious business book by Jim Collins or the like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely raw, emotional, haunting, blunt..., March 9, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Every once in a while a group comes out that is so different and powerful that they stop you in your tracks. This is one of them. The first time I heard songs from this album on the radio I thought it was Clash outtakes circa 1977. These songs sound like bootleg Clash songs recorded in a cave with primitive sound equipment. Absolutely raw, emotional, haunting, blunt, unspoiled by any of the cliches of current pop or rock music. It sounds like an Irish wake, absolutely raw emotion poured out in a way that bypasses the brain and goes straight to the heart.

This is not polished formulaic music and most people probably will not understand or like it. Classic.
