5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful product - but sizes run a little larger than usual!, May 9, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm normally a men's small, but I really should have ordered the extra small because these sizes do run a little large, which I even noticed when I read the sizing chart. But I was afraid of ordering the XS in case it didn't fit or shrunk in the wash, but I should have listened to the sizing chart! Don't just order your usual size - really look at it and see what'll fit you best. Totally my fault, which is why I'm not docking any stars, but I wanted other buyers to make sure they check out the sizing chart before ordering. Don't make my mistake!

I love the Heather Grey color as well as the feel of the fabric. It's very comfortable, very stylish, and the logo print is high quality. I wore this to see Civil War in theatres. Couldn't be happier! (Unless I'd ordered the XS, haha.)

5.0 out of 5 stars An engaging and enigmatic read, April 10, 2016

It seems almost reductive to say this book is phenomenal, but how can you qualify such a unique and poignant collection of poems? "A Place Where Runaways Hide" is a very enjoyable and moving read for anyone, from any walk of life. The journey through the many pangs of life - love, longing, loss - is carefully and meticulously laid out with very seamless transitions between the themes while still keeping the ultimate purpose in mind. You'll find truly beautiful imagery and evocative language, always sharp and with strong purpose. These poems are the simple moments, frozen in time and given life with the detail of a universe.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Castle" is a hit for another year!, April 4, 2010
This review is from: Castle: Season 2 (DVD)
The "Castle" crew is back and better than ever with 24 new episodes of witty, comedic crime-solving. Season two of "Castle" brings just as much sass and fun to the crime scenes and murder storylines as the premiere season while still finding the time to delve a bit deeper into the lives and backgrounds of the main players. We learn a bit more about what makes all our favorite characters tick as they work together to unravel the mysteries of New York City murders. Fans of the show will be excited to learn that "Heat Wave," Richard Castle (Fillion)'s first Nikki Heat novel based on Detective Beckett (Katic), is in circulation in the "real world," appropriately a real-life New York Times Best-Seller. Season two gives the stellar actors and actresses a chance to really find their footing with the characters we've all come to love over the past year. With such distinctly spectacular writing and excellent performances by one and all, it's no wonder that "Castle" has picked up an even larger following this season. Recent through-the-roof ratings have secured another season for this enormously popular and refreshingly humorous crime procedural.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heat Wave: Great Fun for Castle Fans and Non-Fans Alike!, September 29, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Heat Wave (Nikki Heat) (Hardcover)
As a work of literature, "Heat Wave" is a sensational success. The story is written with an appropriate tone and just the right balance of wit and accuracy. The information pertaining to the case is appropriately crisp and matter-of-fact while the relationships and interactions between people are genuine and human. The characters are well-developed without being too overbearing or distracting from the woven crime cases. Even a character like Jameson Rook, who is exasperating and arrogant on the best of days, is given just the right amount of human qualities to endear him to the audience. The reader will care about the characters and read eagerly for the solution to the crime.

As an adjunct to the ABC comedy crime drama "Castle," "Heat Wave" hits the mark as the creative work of Richard Castle. Fans of the show will recognize his wit and humor in the prose as well as the inclusion of his experiences with the NYPD and Detective Kate Beckett into the story. The characters and their relationships are perfect mirrors to those that Richard Castle experiences with his ride-along at twelfth precinct which makes it an easy transition for fans of the show. ABC has gone to greater lengths than any network I've ever seen to provide their fans with something interactive that directly ties into the show. Far beyond "breaking the fourth wall," this book pushes the limit of the artistic world meeting the "real world." Fans will feel like they are sharing the experience with their favorite characters from "Castle" by laying their hands on Richard Castle's first Nikki Heat novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling, inspired. Fillion/Katic get five stars., April 1, 2009

This review is from: Castle: Season 1 (DVD)
Nathan Fillion is brilliant as ABC's new world famous author-turned-pseudo-cop Richard Castle. Behind the veneer of an arrogant celebrity, who seems to have let dozens of best sellers and world acclaim go to his head, Castle is truly a kind-hearted man and a compassionate father. Besides writing, his favorite hobby seems to be irritating Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), the NYPD detective who was in charge of a investigating a string of copy-cat murders modeled after Castle's own murder mystery books. Since he's killed off the main character of his last series, Castle needs new inspiration for his next set of novels, and he finds his muse with the charming but difficult-to-crack detective. The chemistry between Fillion and Katic is astounding, leaving the audience with more to follow than just the murder cases. Unlike most criminal investigation shows, Castle has a heavy focus on humor and the strong development of its characters and their relationships. Not quite a drama and not quite a comedy, this primetime series has elements that appeal to any sensibility. The twisted murder storylines will keep you guessing for the full hour until the conclusion you never expected.

Bonus material for the DVD includes behind the scenes interviews with the stars, out takes, deleted scenes, and more. Strong first season. I'm greatly looking forward to watching this show thrive and burgeon into big-name status.

5.0 out of 5 stars The horrible doctor is in!, November 29, 2008
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" tells an incredible story of an aspiring villain... who blogs and sings. In this backwards world, the villain is the hero, and the hero is the villain. But which one will get the girl? If you're a fan of "Sweeney Todd," you'll love this movie. The acting is impeccable, and the music is flawless. Not a scene, not a song, not a word is out of place. This is a story you won't want to miss.

The fact that this DVD has two commentaries -- a typical filmmaker's commentary and, appropriately so, a musical commentary -- is unique in and of itself. The fact that it's the same stellar crew that put together the Sing-Along blog itself guarantees brilliance. The other special features, such as the "making of" videos, are horribly satisfying. I fell in love with the project all over again.
