5.0 out of 5 stars If Ya Liked the Series; Ya'll Will Luv This Flick!, February 21, 2007
This review is from: Trailer Park Boys: The Movie (DVD)
Just picked this one up the other day. AWESOME!!! If you even liked the TV series even a little bit (and c'mon now - ya gotta love Julian, Ricky and Bubbs!) this is a great laugh. Loved it!! It's was pretty cool to see some Canadian musical talent in the show too!. Alex Lifeson (Rush), Hugh Dillon (Headstones) and Gord Downie (Tragically Hip) play the parts of a cop, club-owner and another cop, respectively.

Just crack open the beers, put the feet on the table and get ready to laugh your socks off.

Yes, it might be considered to be "low budget" but that truly is one of the magic things about TPB. And, always remember: "A dope trailer is no place for a kitty!"

5.0 out of 5 stars 100% BEST Live Album EVER Released, March 28, 2006
Totally have to agree with the previous reviewer. He said it all and I just can echo the thoughts. It's hard to believe that this was from 1964. The Killer cooks!!!!! And yes, his band does it's best to keep up with him. INCREDIBLE. A must for the music lover!!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Enemies of Metal, Your Death is Our Reward" - 3IOB, November 17, 2004
This review is from: Advance & Vanquish (Audio CD)
3 words to describe this stunning CD: Blow you away! It's like Diamond Head meets Iced Earth meets Mercyful Fate. If you are a fan of the 80's hardcore metal, you'll love this throwback act! Awesome, powerful, melodic, fantastic. The 2-singer attack is mind-blowing. These boys REALLY know how to rock. So, if you are a fan of in-your-face, take-no-prisoners Metal, RUN (don't walk!) to your nearest music store and scoop this baby. You'll rarely take it out of yer player!! A British Columbia (Canada) based band that'll take the world by storm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sing Loud! Sing Proud!, March 12, 2004
The Boys from Boston are here! Step back folks, this is what the world has needed: DKM on DVD!!! All fans of the Dropkicks will go insane for this exceptional release. It's all here: the videos, on-the-road documentary, live performances, etc. This sucka will blow yer mind. The mix is great and includes both Stereo and 5.1. I can not think of anything more that DKM could have included on this. If yer a fan, get off yer ass and grab this for yer collection, it will become yer favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Enough Stars to Rate This Gem Folks!, August 28, 2003
What to say? My favorite album of all-time, dissected right before my very eyes. WOW!!!!! From insights into the songs, to mixing/recording technique chat with Alan Parsons, David Gilmour, etc one could not want much more. This is a definite "must-have" for all Floyd fans. Heck, for music fans in general! Do yourselves a favor and RUN don't walk to the store to get this one. Right after I watched it for the 1st time, I played it again. The credits hadn't even began to roll when I started it again!! I plan on watching this gem again tonight. A masterpiece for the ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Show, Great Sound!!, May 6, 2003
I have read numerous reviews from folks that do not like this DVD because Michael Houser is no longer with us. It is rather obvious to me that these folk have no idea what they are talking about. Perhaps they would have preferred if WP had just quit making music after Michael passed away? Or perhaps, they feel that Michael's body would have played a good guitar?
This is a GREAT concert. Do not let these other rubes that detract from this DVD fool you. I would say that Mr. Houser would be very proud to see his band striving on, in the face of adversity, still making awesome music. George McConnell plays a mean guitar and fills Michael's shoes just nicely, thank you very much! Rock on WP!!

5.0 out of 5 stars All Praise Rhino Records!, September 17, 2002
This is the Box Set that all future Box Sets need to be measured against. Rhino have gone above and beyond the call of duty with this set. In one word: Incredible!
The book is awesome with tons of tidbits about the Grateful Dead. Each digipack CD is a gorgeous reproduction of the original releases. The digital re-mastering brings out every intonation of the Dead's music. The music has never sounded sooooo good! A must have for every Grateful Dead fan and for anyone who just likes music that is packaged together in a glorious Box Set. Record companies, please look at what Rhino has done, and try to do things similar. Although, I doubt anyone will be able to beat this one!

1.0 out of 5 stars Tried to Watch it Twice, Both Times I fell Asleep, June 4, 2002
This review is from: Vanilla Sky (DVD)
When this was originally released in the theaters, I was quite intrigued to see what Cameron Crowe had put together and how Tom Cruise would deliver. I must say that I am happy that I didn't go and see it at the theater. BORING!!!!!!!!!! I have tried my darndest to get all the way through this movie but I have fallen asleep each time before I even got halfway through it. One day I will probably TRY and give this one another run. I really do want to see how it all "comes together." Prior to doing this I will need to stock up on a case load of Stay Awakes, 10 pots of coffee and toothpicks for the eyes (ala Fred Flintstone); all of this AFTER I have slept for 72 solid hours.

4.0 out of 5 stars Vapor Trails Harkens Back to the "Old" Rush, May 30, 2002
This review is from: Vapor Trails (Audio CD)
I have been reading the reviews and it sure seems that a lot of people have panned this album. Folks are saying that it takes a couple of listens before you get "into it." When I first put it in my player I was blown away! This sounded like the Rush of old. Harkening back to the days of Moving Pictures and/or Caress of Steel. I found the mix to be very nice. It was so refreshing to hear minimal synthesizers being used. Rush became way too "keyboard oriented" for me. This is just straight ahead, driving rock; powered by intricate guitar work, strong rhythms and potent drumming from Peart. If you liked the Rush of old, you'll love this new one. Buy it, listen to it and enjoy it. Of course, this is just my humble opinion. Different strokes for different folks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!!!!, March 6, 2002
Anchor Bay has outdone themselves with this special packaging. Just handling the case and turning it over in your hands gives one "the willies." The booklet is chockfull of interesting information about the history of the Evil Dead. This is a MUST HAVE for any collector!! Your DVD collection shelf will be nothing without this one being displayed prominently.
