Winix 70BT Dehumidifier, 70 pint
Winix 70BT Dehumidifier, 70 pint

3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay, but the feature-set is awkward., June 23, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
(Let me preface this review by saying that within the past 2 years I have owned and returned a Frigidaire and Friedrich dehumidifier, and currently own a Perfectaire and Hisense dehumidifier, so I've had decent exposure to what's currently out there.)

The Winix is very nicely made. Some dehumidifiers can feel a bit plasticky and hobbled together but the Winix uses high quality plastics and is well assembled. It feels sturdy and robust. The buttons on top are smooth in operation, and the water bucket slides in and out smoothly and easily. One glaring incident was that there was a loose screw inside of the machine behind the air intake that fell out when I removed the water bucket. I think it was just an extra screw that was left behind, but I wanted to mention it.

The Winix is a big dehumidifier. It's about the same height and width as most, but it's quite a bit deeper. It's heavy, as to be expected, but it has casters on the bottom and handles on the side to make it easy to move around. Thankfully the Winix is fairly attractive for a dehumidifier, with it's glossy white plastic and charcoal gray trim, so while it might be large it's not an eyesore.

Using the Winix is easy and straight-forward. Simply plug it in and turn it on using the large and easy to read control panel on top. The Winix has a couple of modes. It has automatic mode, which sets the humidity level to 50% and chooses the fan speed for you. You can also manually set the humidity from 35% - 70% and pick the fan speed yourself (between high and low). There is a cycle timer feature that will turn the Winix on and off for a set amount of time in increments of 3, 6, or 12 hours. When you're in this mode you cannot use automatic mode, you must choose the desired humidity level. In this mode the Winix will turn on for the chosen amount of time and them off for the same amount of time, cycling on and off. It's an odd feature, and I don't have much of a use for it, but someone might. Lastly, there is a setting to delay start from 1 - 12 hour's time. One feature I like that is missing is an off timer. Also, the display only shows you the desired humidity level, not the current humidity level.

You can monitor the water level of the bucket through the window on the front of the tank. It will automatically turn off when the bucket is full and a large red indicator light will let you know it's full. The bucket has a built-in handle making it easy to carry. There is also a gravity drain on the back if you want to direct the water down to a floor level drain and not use the bucket. The Winix does not have a pump feature.

When running the Winix is fairly quiet, but it is definitely noticeable. It sounds similar to a window air conditioner. On low fan speed you won't need to raise your voice or the TV, but on high fan speed you may have to. Thankfully when the compressor kicks in it's barely noticeable so the noise levels are fairly stable.

The humidistat built into the Winix is not very accurate. It would register about 10% humidity above what my dedicated humidistat would display. So if I set the Winix to 40% humidity the room would actually hover around 30% humidity. I tested the humidistat in rooms where I have my other dehumidifiers and it registered much closer to what those machines were displaying, so I know the issue is with the Winix. That said it works well and extracts the moisture out of the air as promised. On the Winix the air is drawn in through the front of the machine and extracted out the right hand side. The temperature of the air it exhausts is moderately warm, and if it's running frequently in a smaller room will make the room feel warmer.

There is a removable filter on the front of the machine that can be vacuumed clean, but there is no indictor on the machine to alert you to clean the filter.

All in all... it does what it should, but has some flaws.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice quality set that should fulfill the needs of most households., June 16, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Workpro's tool kit is a great set for those who want to keep a comprehensive set of tools at home.

The Workpro is a nicely made set. The tools are well constructed and feel appropriately heavyweight. The chrome finishes are high quality and the rubberized handles are grippy and nicely done. Overall, the quality is perfect for the hobbyist, but these are not professional quality contractor's tools that are designed to take a daily beating.

The tools cover 99% of scenarios that a typical home owner will come across. There are a plethora of screwdrivers, bits, sockets, pliers, and Allen wrenches.

All of the tools are nestled into their own individual pockets of the case's plastic molded inserts. They snap into place nicely, but not snugly enough where if you drop the case some of them won't dislodge. The case is nicely made, has wheels, and a large comfortable handle. Mine was received dented. It did not effect the tools inside or the case's functionality, however.

All in all... a comprehensive tool kit.

5.0 out of 5 stars High-End, Easy-To-Install, Joyful-To-Use!, June 16, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Delta’s Tesla faucet is beautiful, well made, easy to install, and wonderful to use.

The Tesla is extremely nicely made. This is a high-end faucet and it shows in the faucet’s finish, construction quality, and feel when using. The faucet is solid metal and the polished nickel finish is flawless and shiny. This is not a hollowed out plastic faucet. Every single component of the Tesla is well made and assembled, with one exception, and that is the included escutcheon. This faucet is tailor made for a one-hole sink, but lots of existing sinks have three holes so Delta provided an escutcheon to cover the other holes. It works well, but the metal used is thin and if you over tighten the faucet you can bend it… take it from me! I called Delta about the bent escutcheon and they shipped me another one at no cost, no questions asked. That’s great customer service!

Design wise the Tesla is very organic and fluid. It has smooth lines and very few hard angles. It’s a joy to behold and will look great in modern / minimalist decors. The faucet is tall and deep, but it’s not overly large and looks great on my smaller pedestal sink. The polished nickel color has a very subtle gold hue, and unless you put a silver / chrome object against it you might not even notice the goldfish hue.

With such a nice faucet you would think that Delta would have created better packaging, but the faucet is just placed into a cardboard box and nestled into a cardboard insert. It keeps the faucet from moving around the box a lot, but I expected that they would cover the faucet with some sort of plastic wrap to protect the finish. I didn’t notice any issues with scratches on the finish, but still.

Installing the faucet was straightforward and easy and most capable homeowners should be able to do it within an hour’s time. It took me about 30 minutes to get it installed and running. Attached to the faucet are plastic water supply lines, so you don’t need to buy those. They are very long in length and should work with most set-ups. You can also cut them if you want to shorten them, but I just left them long and looped them once. To tighten the faucet to the sink Delta included a special tool that makes it a breeze to do. One note I’d like to mention is that in the instruction it wants you to assemble the pop-up drain handle after the faucet is secured, but if you don’t have much clearance behind the top of the faucet and the bathroom’s wall that will be really hard to do, so you might want to assemble the drain handle before you fully secure the faucet. Lastly, the aerator on the faucet is unique in that it is flush mounted into the faucet. Delta provides a special tool that you will need to remove it, so don’t lose that tool! I had no issues with leaking from anywhere.

Using the Delta is a joy. The “joystick” that controls the water flow is wonderful to use. It is smooth and feels great in motion. It has a solid dampened feel. There are indentations for full hot, full cold, and a 50/50 split. It’s easy to manipulate the flow and temperature by swiveling the joystick, and it has great range and subtle adjustability. At full blast the water falls in a strong narrow stream. One thing to bear in mind is that the Tesla is a tall and big faucet. I have to make sure that when I bend down to rinse my face off that I do not bang into the faucet!

All in all… a stunner!

King's by Honeywell Steel Toe Executive WingTip
King's by Honeywell Steel Toe Executive WingTip
Price: $79.28

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad looking, but narrow with little padding., June 13, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
King's steel toed wingtips are a good option for a dress shoe to use in a rough environment but they run narrow.

The Kings are high quality shoes. The leather is nicely stitched / finished and the sole is rugged, durable, and grippy. The leather used, however, looks less like leather and more like plastic. Overall, they do a good approximation of a proper wingtip, but the chunky sole gives them away.

Comfort-wise the King's are middling. They have a nice flexible sole and twist and bend well, which surprised me since most steel toed shoes are very stiff. The interior padding leaves a lot to be desired, however. The padding seems to only be present at the heel and the arch. There is no padding by the ball of the foot or toes, making for an uncomfortable toe box. Buying a set of cushioned insoles would help a lot.

Moreover, while the length of the shoe was fine, they are quite narrow and I felt squeezed in around the ball of my foot. I don't have wide feet either. Perhaps going up a size would have helped but I tried the size I usually wear.

All in all... looks proper, feels cramped and hard.

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Cleanser, 5 Ounce

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well for me, and it smells so nice!, June 9, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
L'Oreal's Revitalift Bright Reveal facial cleanser is gentle, effective, and smells great.

The cleanser is a mixture of clear fluid and small micro-beads. It goes on easily, and a little bit goes a long way. When lathering up, it doesn't feel like it is making a lot of suds, but a quick peek indicates that this cleanser suds up nicely. The little micro-beads can feel a bit odd if you've never used something like that before, but it isn't painful and it exfoliates the skin. It just feels a little abrasive. The cleanser washes off quickly and easily, leaving behind no residue.

I have sensitive combination skin. My t-zone gets quite oily while my cheeks can get dry. This cleanser works well to keep my skin balanced. I don't get overly greasy, but it helps keep me moisturized as well. I follow-up the cleanser with a facial moisturizer with SPF. I haven't noticed any reactions / pimples / redness from using the L'Oreal and my skin looks bright with an even complexion.

I love the fragrance of the cleanser. It's not floral, it has more of a fruity / fresh smell to it and it is very refreshing. It doesn't linger after you rinse off, so you won't need to worry about it mixing with your everyday fragrance / deodorant routine. This cleanser would work well for men and women.

All in all... a great cleanser.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fine bags, but they have gotten thinner., June 8, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the second time that I have ordered these poop bags. The first time was about a year ago. This time when I received them I noticed that the thickness of the plastic used is reduced...

With that said these are still fine bags at a good price. The bags come in little rolls that are taped closed. The rolls are the perfect size to stash in a car, pocket, or insert into the included dispenser. The dispenser is a nice touch and makes it easy to dispense the bags one at a time. When not using the dispenser they are very easy to tear along the perforations. The bags are easy to open, and you can tell which end is which because there is a visible seam on the bottom.

The bags are a good size and easily hold the poops of my Wheaton Terrier and Italian Greyhound with plenty of bag leftover to knot the bag securely at the top. I've never experiences issues with ripping bags or smells emitting from them. You can see into them, however, so while you can't smell the poops you will see them!

All in all... great bags, if thin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great dark chocolate!, June 8, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love this dark chocolate. It has a wonderfully complex flavor, and great texture in the mouth. It's not overly bitter, like some dark chocolates can be and it tastes fresh. Moreover, the bars have a good "snap" to them when you bite down.

The bars are divided into 5 rows of 3 squares each. They are easy to snap apart to eat just the right amount. I find that a serving of 3 squares is the perfect size to get my chocolate fix, and that's only 78 calories!

I've tried Lindt, Ghirardelli, and Hershey's dark chocolates and this is by far my favorite. The fact that some of the proceeds goes towards helping wildlife is just icing on the cake.

All in all... yum!

Eatsmart Roasted Tortilla Chip, Garlic Hummus, 7 oz
Eatsmart Roasted Tortilla Chip, Garlic Hummus, 7 oz

4.0 out of 5 stars Tasty and not greasy., June 8, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Eatsmart's roasted tortilla chips are very tasty, crunchy, and healthy.

These chips are similar in size and to a traditional potato chip but have scalloped edges. They are sturdy chips so they won't snap apart easily when dipped into hummus, salsa, or other dips. They are also very crunchy and fresh tasting. Speaking of, they have a subtle flavor that won't knock you out. The garlic is there, the saltiness is there, and the hummus flavor is there, but none of it is overpowering. The flavors are so good that the chips work fine on their own... no garnishes necessary!

A serving is only 140 calories and contains enough chips to almost fill a cereal bowl. It's the perfect snacking size per serving. Salt content is low as well, which is nice.

All in all... tasty and guilt-free.

Conair Flex Led Illuminated Mirror, 3x Magnification
Conair Flex Led Illuminated Mirror, 3x Magnification
Price: $34.12

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice mirror with an even and soft light., June 5, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Conair's illuminated mirror is well made, provides a crisp and detailed view, and the LED lights are evenly lit and soft enough to not be distracting.

The Conair is very nicely made. The body of the mirror is done in plastic, but the plastics are high quality and feel good in the hand. The neck of the mirror is done in a metallic chrome metal. That too is nicely done, and feels robust.

Design wise the mirror is very simple. It's clean lines should work well in most bathrooms. It also doesn't look cheap, so you won't feel it necessary to hide it away when you're not using it. In fact it comes with a plastic sleeve that allows you to attach it to a wall. The sleeve holds onto the base of the mirror and it is simple to remove it from the sleeve when you want to place it somewhere else or handhold it. I did not attach it to my wall, but it comes with all of the necessary hardware.

Using the mirror is a joy. The viewing area is large (about the size of a CD) and the mirror is high quality. It shows a crisp and detailed view. The magnification is strong enough to see stray hairs, clogged pores, and any other blemishes easily. The LED lighting system encircles the mirror and puts out an even, soft light. The light is bright enough to illuminate your face, but not so bright that it forces you to squint. The color temperature of the light is very cool and neutral. The light is controlled by a simple ON/OFF switch on the back of the mirror and is powered by three AAA batteries, which are not included.

The bendable neck is very flexible and you can bend it in almost any position imaginable. It also stays in place well and just moves a smidgen at the extremes. The mirror's base is large and sturdy so you don't have to worry about the mirror tipping over.

All in all... a great mirror.

American Greetings Strength And Spirit Birthday Card for Him with Foil
American Greetings Strength And Spirit Birthday Card for Him with Foil
by American Greetings
Edition: Cards
Price: $4.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful card with a nice sentiment., June 2, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This man's birthday card is very nicely made. The paper stock is high-quality and very thick. The text is done in gold foil and there are some foil accents on the artwork as well. There is also a ribbon on the front of the card. Overall, it feels like the high-end card that it is.

The sentiment of the card is sweet and touching. It's a great card from pretty much any adult male's birthday, but a little to serious for children.

The artwork and colors used for the card are beautiful and it is visually appealing.

All in all... a wonderful birthday card.
