5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Monopoly or The Game of Life, May 6, 2011

This review is from: Survive Escape From Atlantis (Toy)
This one is such a breath of fresh air. I'm personally not even a board game fan. I prefer videogames. Since I bought it, my family and I play it every weekend (usually twice), now. Games take just the right amount of time (45 min to an hour) and it creates all kinds of hilarious person-to-person conversation that you don't get in games that are about money. This game is about survival and it plays like an adventure/disaster movie, video game, and strategy board game all in one. Once you understand the rules, major fun ensues. Hats off to the designer for the sublime interaction that is created in the game and between the players, hats off to the publisher for the quality of the game box, game board, and components. It's a high quality toy--and tool--for helping families play together. Well worth the money. I recommend it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Trading on a good reputation...., November 29, 2007
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is unfortunately not as enjoyable as other collections of his photos and really quite boring. Whereas Once Upon A Time and A Place In The Sun evoked an era and gave you either a voyeuristic peek into the lives of old money, some great photography, or both, this book gives very little of either. I was hoping for equally compelling and thematically consistent imagery here but unfortunately the title misses the mark. I wish the editor/publisher had been more discriminating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eckhart Tolle "Live", February 22, 2006
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the best place to start if you are curious about Tolle. While his books are provocative, interesting, and (if you take the time) enlightening, this particular recording is a very accessible and oftimes entertaining introduction to his thinking. It is a recorded seminar with an audience and his delivery is conversational and sometimes quite funny as well. He comes across as this diminutive Yoda with a German accent but his ideas about consciousness, identity and spirituality are transfixing in a way that makes the catchy soundbites from the Chopra-like self help crowd seem amateurish and commercial by comparison. His thoughts on "presence" and "the NOW" will cause you to rethink your understanding of how we live our lives. You do yourself a big favor by at least exposing yourself to these ideas.
