4.0 out of 5 stars Best Call of Duty since Modern Warfare 2, November 26, 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I started playing the Call of Duty series with the release of COD Modern Warfare 2. I loved MW2 but did not really care for Black Ops; MW3 was terrible. With Black Ops 2, they have managed to do something different and improve the overall gameplay. The new weapons, attachments, and scorestreaks make this game feel like a departure from the other Call of Duties. Black Ops 2 gameplay is very smooth and mostly lag-free, which I could not say for BO1 or MW3. This game seems to be a cross between BO1 and MW2. However, not everything about this game is an improvement; the first couple of weeks with the game were a buggy mess. The game froze constantly and there were significant connection problems. After the patch, it plays mostly fine.

The best thing about Black Ops 2 is the variety. The maps support a host of game styles. Also, like Black Ops 1, there are Party Games and Zombies. The Party Games are the same as BO's Wager Matches except they now count toward your multiplayer stats. Personally, Zombies is a step down from Black Ops, but it is still very fun. The current zombie maps are very small and they have added fire to them which makes them harder to navigate. Lastly, like all newly released Call of Duties, the weapon balancing needs some work.

I have one major complaint: They advertised Nuketown 2025 for months but it was removed from the game after 1 week. It will now be available only on Double XP weekends.

Pros:
New weapons, attachments, and killstreaks
Good maps that support a variety of play styles
Party games (formerly Wager Matches)
Zombies included

Cons:
Removed Nuketown 2025
Buggy, slow (even after patch)
Weapon balance

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed. Quite a departure from the original., November 7, 2012
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars

This game is really fun if you like CONSTANT crash cutscenes. Every time you bump a car, guard rail, or pole, you will have to watch a 10 second scene of your car crashing. Often times, you will come out of one of the crash scenes to find that the game has placed you directly behind another vehicle which causes you to crash yet again. This is the most annoying thing about the game and really characterizes the game for me.

For fans of the original Most Wanted, this game is disappointing. The game has a similar premise, but they have removed the storyline, customization, manual transmission, exciting pursuits, and the ability to plow through roadblocks. The graphics of the game are incredible, but the gameplay is lacking. The cars do not handle well at all. Unlike the original, hitting roadblocks now causes, you guessed it, a crash scene that stops your car in its tracks. Lastly, the game is very easy. I was the #1 Most Wanted racer before I had taken down Most Wanted #6-10. I got enough points to be first simply by tricking out a few cars; speaking of which, all of the cars are available from the start and races unlock performance upgrades. The Most Wanted races are very easy; in fact, they are easier than the races required to unlock car upgrades.

Multiplayer is no fun whatsoever; I give multiplayer a 1 out of 5 rating. You are placed in the open world with other racers. The game will randomly select events and races for you. Some of the events it chooses make little sense and are very repetitive.

Overall, this game is fun, but it is also VERY frustrating. I would recommend this game to people, but I want them to know that this game is not the original. The graphics are really the only improvement to the original; the other changes made to the game are a major downgrade.

SUMMARY:

Pros:
Beautiful graphics
Large, open world
Large selection of cars

Cons:
Lack of customization
Crash scenes
Repetitive races (many of the races for each car are exactly the same)
Lackluster pursuits
No penalty for being busted by the cops
Easy and short

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking case that adds a fair amount of protection, August 20, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This phone case looks very nice. It is one of the best looking cases I have seen. It fits extremely well and adds only minimal bulk. It has a nice grip and feels very sturdy in your hands. I own this silicryllic case and the black/black case. The only downside to the shine case is that the back scuffs a little bit of you slide it around on a table or bump it into anything because it has an aluminum back. The black case has a rubberized exterior that is less prone to scratching but picks up lint. Overall, I would recommend this case because it looks good, adds very little bulk, and offers solid protection.

1.0 out of 5 stars Persistent lag, February 14, 2012
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have had this game for around two months (since it came out). The game has potential, but the persistent lag and the lag compensation system make this game almost unplayable. I have an expensive broadband connection, and all of my other games work fine. However, this game lags in over half of the matches I play. Also, I am often the host of matches, and there appears to be an obscene host penalty. Anytime I am the host, matches are extremely laggy.

So, if you enjoy persistent lag problems even though you pay a premium for fast Internet, this game is for you.

EDIT: after months of playing this game, the problems continue to add up. The spawns have become progressively worse. The lag is only slightly better. This will be the last InfinityWard/Sledgehammer game that I buy.
