3.0 out of 5 stars Cool Idea, Somewhat Awkward To Use, January 23, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Like most people, I don't floss nearly as often as I should. So when I saw this new product from Philips, I had to give this a shot. You may already be familiar with how it works. You fill the device with a little bit of water and it uses that and air to shoot a compressed stream between your teeth to knock out lodged food or other obstructions. Unfortunately, it's a bit awkward to use or not powerful enough, though it could be because I don't have very large gaps between my teeth, so the device didn't really seem to blast anything out or through them.

PROS
- decent battery life
- reservoir holds enough water to clean entire mouth
- perhaps more convenient than flossing

CONS
- if you have relatively straight teeth with narrow or nonexistent gaps, it'll be difficult/awkward to clean
- kinda messy as it blows the debris out between your teeth

4.0 out of 5 stars Good For What It Does, January 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've tried several of the Harmony remotes before, but regardless of trying to replace all your remotes with one big universal remote... you're still left with just that.... a big remote. So why not find a way to use an iPhone or iPad in this equation? Not a bad idea.

Compared to other Harmony remotes, this is actually a pretty good value, given you already have an iPhone or iPad. Plus, you can customize the remote layout within the app, which is pretty nice.

In a nutshell, here's how I feel about the Logitech Harmony Link.

GOOD
- included ability to see TV listings is unique and novel, though I don't use that feature much
- web-based setup process is just like any other Harmony.... generally a breeze given the complexity of what these things do

BAD
- no bluetooth support, so devices without IR support (like a Playstation) are out of luck

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Value, Not Sure About The Infrared Light, January 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This little gizmo is a great way to give yourself a relaxing massage when you just don't have a masseuse handy. The unit features interchangeable tips for a variety of unique sensations, and varying speeds.

The unit also includes an infrared light on the back, which supposedly can aid in muscle relaxation, but it actually shines away from the body when you're using the massager (see the photos), so I'm really not sure what effect it has. I usually leave that feature turned off.

Overall, this is a great massager with a very nice industrial design. If you can pick it up under $30, give it a try!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great For Doctor Who Lookalikes, January 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
To be totally honest, I bought these glasses for their unique signature tortoise look. For Halloween this year, I dressed up as David Tennant, aka the Tenth Doctor Who and these glasses completed the look perfectly.

As far as reading glasses go, however, they work pretty well. The magnification is decent, and it doesn't give you a headache after extended use. They also include a very nice and eco-friendly traveling case as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does What It Says, January 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm pretty simple when it comes to laundry and I don't like to bother myself with thinking about what types of detergent I should use or when or when not to use fabric softener. After being out of college and on my own, I realized that continual washing of my jeans meant they started to fade. And fade quickly.

Then a friend recommended using Woolite with my newer jeans to lock in the colors and prevent them fading. Not only does it work well with jeans but it works with all other dark clothes as well.

Even if you're not worried about color bleeding, momma said it best when she said to separate your dark clothes from your light clothes. Once you've got that step out of the way, wash your dark clothes with Woolite. They'll look new a lot longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple & Easy, January 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This capture device works very good with the Mac. The included software makes it super easy to capture your videos and export them to YouTube, QuickTime or iMovie.

Unfortunately, there really isn't much in terms of built-in video editing software and given the reason why most people are buying these devices (i.e. to capture their old VHS movies and preserve them in a digital format), it would be nice if there was something along these lines included. Still, as far as the hardware goes, it's pretty simple to use and pretty effective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Performance, Easy Setup, January 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Apple's top of the line router is priced fairly high compared to other offerings from Linksys or Netgear, but it's very powerful, has a few extra features and is pretty easy to setup. In a nutshell, here's what I think about the Apple AirPort Extreme.

GOOD
- can be setup from your iPhone or iPad
- offers guest networking and dual band mode, meaning your slower devices can use the slower network while your newer and faster devices can use the 5GHz bandwidth
- offers support for wireless printing and hard drive access, and this can be augmented by purchasing a USB hub

BAD
- expensive

Overall, this device is a good product and pretty easy to setup. If you're looking to create a wireless network and not have to worry about the details of how everything should connect, go with the Apple product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Value, Not Really Multitouch, January 12, 2012
Apple's latest generation of iPod nano is a great value, now offering more storage at the same price points as the last model. These little iPod nanos are quite durable as well.

On the bad side, since adopting this form factor, the nano has lost a lot of functionality, including it's camera, games, calendar, microphone and alarm clock. The interface itself will also take a bit of getting use to, as it's not the same true multitouch UI that you're used to with the iPhone or bigger iPod touch. The basic idea of gestures is the same, but given the very limited screen real estate, that's about where the similarities stop.

If you've had iPods before, you're already familiar with how to manage media via iTunes. If you're new altogether, it's a quick and easy download from Apple's website and you'll be setup in minutes. Overall, if you're looking for a quick and cheap MP3 player and wanna fit in with the cool Apple crowd, the nano is a great device to go with.

3.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, But Good Quality, January 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For whatever reason you find yourself needing dual layer discs for burning, Verbatim is always a great choice. These discs are pretty reliable, but like many dual-layer discs, are very expensive. The DVD+R variety however, seems to be more compatible with different players, including regular DVD systems and consoles like the Xbox. If you're price comparing, make sure you note this difference as it could have a big impact on burning quality discs or coasters.

Sony Ericsson Wireless Stereo Headphone - Black
Sony Ericsson Wireless Stereo Headphone - Black

4.0 out of 5 stars Short Battery Life, Great Otherwise, January 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I use these wireless headphones when I workout. They provide a snug fit and generally great sound quality. Pairing them with a device can be problematic sometimes (I use it with my iPhone), but once it's setup, it works pretty well.

GOOD
- very low footprint
- snug fit
- decent sound quality

BAD
- short battery life
- sometimes problematic to pair via Bluetooth
