2.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction, but not much meat, December 17, 2007
I used this book in my assessment methods (educational) class. It serves as a good introduction to thinking about different (non-traditional) types of assessments. While it gives some good suggestions as to what would be easiest to start doing or change in your classroom, it does not give suggestions of how to go about doing that. For example, the author presents a general rubric that might be used for evaluating projects. However, there were not suggestions about creating tasks/projects that would be useful for evaluation or that were mathematically centered. For me, this book had too many generalities and thoughts and not specific ideas that could be implemented.
