5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book! Highly Recommended, January 12, 2010
I have been investigating Adobe Acrobat 9 and dynamic PDF forms for my company's needs. This book has a great deal of practical information about Acrobat 9 and I have already put some of the tips to work (certified PDF's, digital signatures). I also enjoyed the case studies. If you are looking for a practical book that covers a broad range of Adobe technology, you will find Paperless worthwhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, January 13, 2009
This is a great book for new users getting started with Adobe LiveCycle Designer. It is well written and easy to follow, which is not a simple task with most programming tutorials. The book takes you through a series of steps that enable you to create an interactive and dynamic form. Starting with the basics, Mr. Terry explains the benefits of having these forms and leads into a discussion about how to make forms visibly appealing and user-friendly. He then brings you into the beginning stages of actually creating the form using the different features of LiveCycle Designer. After the look and feel of the form is completed, the book guides you into how to make this form worthwhile to have. Mr. Terry shows you step-by-step into adding functionality to the form using JavaScript and FormCalc. An in-depth look at collecting data from the forms is then discussed, which is something that was not done with the sample tutorials that came with LiveCycle Designer. He even provides a "Steal These Scripts" chapter that allows you to use code that has already been written for you. All the sample forms that this book takes you through have their corresponding completed forms on the website. Mr. Terry provides all the resources available for you to get started making these dynamic forms.
