2.0 out of 5 stars Arches Too High - Causes Blisters, December 17, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these shoes based on their appearance on a "Best Men's Running Shoe" list featured in a popular running magazine earlier this year. I've been on a quest to find the best running shoe (upgrading from my New Balance 1225) this year and have tried Asics Gel Kayano 18, Brooks PureFlow and Saucony Triumph 9.

The Saucony Triumph 9 performed poorly (worst of the four brands).

The arches/arch supports are too high - way too high. I might suspect that I received irregular shoes except I experienced the same problem with a pair of Saucouny Progrid Guide 5's that I recently tried. I consistently got blisters on my arches after 3-4 miles of running. I even tried wearing two pairs of socks to alleviate the problem but the blistering persisted. Maybe this is why they were half price.

On a positive note, they do provide great cushioning and are very comfortable for the first mile or two.

4.0 out of 5 stars Oustanding "Wet" Shave, November 9, 2012
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I'm now a true believer in the "wet" shave (using shaving cream with an electric razor instead of shaving "dry"). The result is impressive. I can actually get a closer shave with this than shaving manually with a razor blade. I suppose it's similar to using an electric toothbrush compared to brushing manually - there's no comparison. My girlfriend actually said my skin felt smoother than hers! The dry shave is decent, too, but use the shaving cream if you have the time.

The battery/charge life is excellent, too. One full charge gives you enough capacity for over 20 "wet" shaves (which consume more energy than dry shaving).

The only negatives on this shaver is it takes fifteen hours to fully charge it and it doesn't have a low charge indicator to let you know you're about to run out of power.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the Best Option, November 9, 2012
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This TV/gaming stand is adequate for its purpose but wouldn't be my first choice.

Good: It is sturdy and the design allows any gaming systems or other electronics placed within it to ventilate well. It also swivels 90 degrees which is useful.

Not so good: What about the speakers? It would be nice if it could accommodate audio output devices on the unit. I don't care for the guitar rack being on the unit - it messes with the "Feng shui" or sleekness of the design to have a couple guitars hanging off the back of the unit.

Three stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ever try tinting your own car windows?, November 9, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
That's what applying this protective film is like - challenging. You have to wet the sheet (both sides) before you apply it. Then the directions suggest you let it dry for 12-24 hours before even turning your phone back on. I took my time to do it right, but it still came out poorly. The "life time" replacement policy requires $4.95 in shipping/handling costs. It's not worth it to me.

1.0 out of 5 stars This Product Is NOT Compatible with SoundLink, January 18, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I really cannot speak to this product's efficacy beyond the fact that IT IS NOT FOR USE WITH BOSE SOUNDLINK. It is incompatible with SoundLink Wireless systems. It is difficult to blame Amazon since Bose, itself, states that it works with SoundLink Wireless systems (in addition to SoundDock systems) on the packaging. Whoops. Who pays for the return shipping - Bose or Amazon?

3.0 out of 5 stars Average Gaming Headset, October 20, 2011
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is an average gaming headset suitable for casual online gamers. Hardcore gamers may want to spend more on their two-way headsets.

MUSIC/VIDEO SOUND: These headsets have adequate sound. I believe this is mostly because these are over-the-ear headphones that don't completely cover the ear. The highs are bright and the mid-range frequencies are good, but the low frequency sounds don't "thump" like on higher end products. Full ear cover headsets and ear buds provide better quality sound.

NOISE CANCELLATION: The noise cancellation qualities of this headset don't sound any better than other mid-range priced products, which is to say playing online against/with others can be hectic with occasionally chaotic and difficult to decipher communications.

The headset didn't come with a USB adapter and won't work with my PS3 without one. Additionally, the cord is only 8 feet long. This is too short to be used for game play accept in small spaces and relatively small screens.

This headset would make a good entry level headset for someone just getting started in online/multi-player gaming. It's okay for music/movie listening. Three out of five stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Basic Heart Rate Monitor Watch with Calorie Counter, September 20, 2011
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The Omron HR-310 is a basic heart rate monitor watch that includes a calorie counter and a "tap-on" lens that allows you to access exercise data by touching the lens. This is a good entry-level product.

The watch/monitor comes with a wireless chest strap that measures your heart rate and transmits the information to the watch for display. It provides calories burned based on personal data (age, weight, sex, etc.) that's entered during the initial setup. The watch/band is constructed with two-tone gray plastic and is water resistant. The chest strap works well, measuring ones pulse almost instantly once it's properly secured. The watch/monitor also includes a stop watch, back-light for night viewing and an alarm clock. The basic displays are easy to read and navigate and are set up logically. There are several little icons on the display that indicate mode and function.

When setting up the watch, upper and lower heart rate limits are established and entered by the owner using guidelines provided in the owner's manual. These zones are established for three modes of exercise: walking, jogging and running. Before you begin your workout routine, you indicate which type of exercise you are doing and it will alert you if you fall outside of that range. In other words, if you push yourself too hard and exceed your maximum cardio heart rate, the watch will beep. Alternatively, if your goal is to maintain your heart rate at 80% of maximum and your pulse falls below that level it will let you know that, too.

The data readouts are nice and provide several useful options that allow you to read two fields at a time, like stop watch and pulse or pulse and calories burned, etc. The calorie counter is a very useful feature that incorporates the user's personal information for a more accurate measurement of actual calories burned. The "tap-on" lens feature is nice but I never considered using the watch's buttons to navigate between modes/features to be an inconvenience.

After about 15 minutes of reviewing the manual and setting up the watch, I was ready to exercise and use the watch's basic functions.

Overall, this is a good basic, entry level heart rate watch/monitor with a useful calorie counter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad for a Grocery Store Cookie, July 8, 2011
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
These cookies are okay for grocery store cookies made with preservatives. They aren't as good as Nestle Tollhouse or Mrs. Fields but they're better than the unrecognizable brands one might buy at a gas station. The "gooey" filling is surrounded by a chocolate "shell" within the cookie and makes for contrasting textures - soft cookie, chocolate shell and gooey center. While these are in the Chips Ahoy line, they are quite different from the original. Not better or worse. Just different.

I prefer the "Megafudge" Chips Ahoy over the "Chocofudge".

3.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, but "Low Density" Memory Foam, May 26, 2011
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This mattress pad is comfortable and provides good support but it is what I call a "low density" memory foam product. Somewhere along the way, memory foam products went from high-density, which is heavier weight and maintains its "memory" (shaping) longer, to low-density, which is more like a standard foam product with higher quality. I suppose there could be a trade-off with the density difference; the original higher density memory foam mattresses/pads had occasional complaints that they absorbed and held too much body heat which made them too warm to sleep/lie on. The lower density product probably "breathes" better. I have no issues with this topper pad being too warm to sleep on.

I still have my original memory foam pillow and when I compare the memory foam used in it to that used in today's products (including the one reviewed herein) I see a significant difference. I prefer the original, denser material. There should be two classes of memory foam if they want to call this memory foam.

If you were to stack two of these pads (for 5 inches total) it would make a comfortable sleeping platform in and of itself.

Overall, this is a comfortable product that's better than a standard mattress pad, but it's not exactly what I envisioned when read the description.
