I remember laughing when I saw that Bioware was having FCC complaints filed against them for the ending of Mass Effect 3, now that I have finished it, I think I will file one as well. This is the single worst ending; in any genre; in any medium ever created. It was worse than Matrix. Worse than Battlestar Galactica. Worse than any ending I can think of that I have ever experienced.

The whole series is about choices and their repercussions and when you finally reach the end (after a two hour long mission where you are not allowed to save), they tell you, "all those choices are bunk, they don't mean anything. Instead, We would like you to make one of three choices, all based on a philosophy that we, as the writers are wanting to put forth, even though it is contradictory to every scene in every game of the series, and renders everything you've done up to this point moot." What a load of pretentious bullshiv.

Here, Bioware, let me give you a hint for your future, Mass Effect is a "Space Opera". You have spent three whole games shamelessly ripping off Star Trek, which is a "Space Opera". Yes, Star Trek and other "Space Operas" occasionally deal with heavy shiv beyond the pure beat up the evil alien stories, but those episodes (movies, etc.) are set up from the first scene as being different than the others. That is why they stick out. There are not any Star Trek action adventure episodes where Kirk kicks 8 types of ass for almost an hour and once he gets to the big baddie, puts down his gun and start a philosophical discussion about the nature of violence because your audience will call Bullshiv!

Put another way: you can't have a Star Trek beginning, middle, and almost ending and then have Doctor Who show up and philosophize why everything that came before his coming on the scene is crap. Either make your whole thing Star Trek or your whole thing Doctor Who.

Either way. Extremely disappointed. Feel extremely pissed off and ripped off by your tacking stuck on ending.
