5.0 out of 5 stars great read, February 24, 2012

the Bosch books are Connelly's best, and this was a very good read.
Good plot, sub-plots and development. Better than the defense lawyer stuff....

5.0 out of 5 stars great collection, May 18, 2011

This review is from: The Ultimate Collection (Audio CD)
she's got a great voice, and she's gorgeous. Interesting combo.
But, the voice is operatic, and she's trying to enter a more popular
venue, so, not everyone will like it. But, I do.
She is very popular in Europe, but not that well-known in the States, yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good info, November 15, 2010

Can better grade this book after I visit Peru. Then, I will know how valid it's
info is, and how helpful. But, I usually don't go wrong with the Moon books.

The Reversal (A Lincoln Lawyer Novel)
The Reversal (A Lincoln Lawyer Novel)
by Michael Connelly
Edition: Hardcover
434 used & new from $0.01

5.0 out of 5 stars Good read, November 15, 2010

I was expecting a Harry Bosch novel, but it was a Haller-Bosch story,
which was good too (tho I prefer the Bosch ones.) Plot moved along well,
had a bit of an unexpected plot twist, and ended with the door open for a follow-on story. Top flight Connelly, was not disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Changes, June 7, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Entertaining read, so far (about halfway thru.)
If I were Butcher's editor, tho, I would make some
suggestions. Dresden could be a little less melodramatic,
and some of the tangents the plot takes are not entirely
logical, specifically, concerning the involvement of mortal
folk. But I don't want to give away any of the plot.
It just seems like the plot is more confusing than it needs
to be. Maybe TOO clever.

4.0 out of 5 stars The latest Dresden adventure, August 29, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Some of these stories were getting a bit cosmic and bizarre
(ridiculous), but this tale was a little better. Plot moved along
very nicely; story was a good page-turner. My only criticism would be
the author's infatuation with the sexual-attraction aspect that the hero
has with certain vampires, and is powerless to quell. It seems over the top.
The storyline just doesn't seem to need that, and I don't think the author needs to focus on that aspect, nor pander to that sector of his reading audience. I think it detracts from the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Travel to Thailand, August 1, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Like some of the other books in the Moon series, this one is very thorough and helpful. I checked other series, and this one is up to date, and has a good spectrum of views, from back-packing to high-end vacations. Like the Belize
book from Moon, this was very useful for the trip I made to Thailand this year.

3.0 out of 5 stars Thai Dictionary, August 1, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
as a pocket dictionary, I did not expect this one to be exhaustive, and yet
there were several simple words not in there, or the Thai was in the front,
but I couldn't find it's reciprocal in the English section (they had some
other Thai word for the same thing, but not one I was familiar with.)
Also, the I thought the English selection was 'slim-pickins', and did not have
some of the more common words I wanted to see. However, I did like their use
of the Thai alphabet, so that if I wanted to learn the language a little, this
book would be helpful. So, tho it wasn't as extensive as I hoped, I still don't regret getting it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, May 27, 2007
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book was a good follow-on to Book One; better than Book Two, I thought. In general, the series is more 'fantasy' than the detective/magic genre I was expecting. Still, Butcher has a good page-turning style, and tho he gets a little far out, his books are good reads

with vivid images. Possibly, a bit too heavy on the gore,

but they never drag on......

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and disturbing, May 27, 2007
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Excellent comparison to the fall of the Roman Empire.

The author's historical treatment of the Roman history is

quite enlightening and thorough, and his comparison to

political events in this country presents a compelling and

disturbing treatise on where we are headed. Even if one doesn't agree with his conclusions, it is well written and researched.
