1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Made, November 19, 2009

It broke in less than a year. Even when it was technically working, the weight varied from minute to minute. I was so disappointed. After having finally discarded an analog drugstore scale that I had for years, I bought this because of the great reviews. It has little plastic pieces as feet that do not stay put, it was flimsy and overpriced and then just gave out. I will go back to an old fashioned scale that works...

1.0 out of 5 stars Nasty, not in a good way, not the light read I had hoped for, August 14, 2009
Happily this was a gift and I didn't waste my money on it, just my time. I had hoped this would be an interesting look at female friendships, slightly deeper than standard chick lit, but I was very disappointed. I have lived in NYC for the past 15 years and thankfully don't know any women as bitter and unhappy as the ones in this book. I couldn't even finish it--it is just catty and not people I want to spend time reading about. No Thanks!

3.0 out of 5 stars smells great, staying power is less than perfect, August 7, 2009
I love the smell of this product, natural, but pleasant. The fact that it doesn't have a ton of chemicals is it's biggest plus. This isn't the best thing for a hot summers day though. It is very mild and loses efficacy as the day goes on.

3.0 out of 5 stars No real change, August 7, 2009

I was hoping that this would work on my in grown hair from leg waxing, but have been using twice a day for almost two weeks and I see no difference. It smells good and is easy to apply, but not what I had hoped for. I guess I will go back to tend skin, which is ok, not great either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing product, great idea!!, August 7, 2009

I am buying my second box. I read about this in a magazine and was intrigued. I have used body sugar scrubs, but never anything for the scalp, and it felt great! Not only is it a relaxing, great feeling treatment, but it gave me great results. My hair is super shiny and my scalp feels really clean. The smell is out of this world. I am a big fan.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Bain De Terre's best, August 7, 2009

I love most of their products, but this one was kind of lack luster. The smell was nice, it just didn't deliver the results I had come to expect from this line.

5.0 out of 5 stars yes, they are the softest!, August 7, 2009

I love these! I once bought a pair in an airport and was happy to have found them on amazon. They are seriously the most comfortable thing to wear around the house. If you have time to spare, put on some foot cream and then these footsies and you are in heaven!

by Jessica Mitford

Price: $35.00

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book, June 11, 2009
Jessica Mitford was the lefty sister who rebelled against her family. After losing her first husband in WW2, she had to make a career for herself, and without a formal education became a hugely influential writer.

These letters are a must for anyone who has sisters. They document the rivalry between five of the most complicated and interesting women of the 20th century, all in first person. It is a pleasure to read and brings history alive.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little twee & too clever for it's own good, June 11, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
When I read about this book, I was struck by what an incredible idea it was. It is a good piece of conceptual art, but a little cute with too may name brands, which ultimately make this feel like yuppie porn. Rather than making the characters specific, all of the high end name dropping makes it kind of smarmy and in the end hollow where it should be touching and universal.
