5.0 out of 5 stars Great Headset!, September 4, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great headset! It works incredibly well for the price. This system works essentially in the 1-wire setup, meaning one long wire goes from the radio up to the push-to-talk button/mic (which has a very durable clip on it for attaching to your label, collar, or what have you), and then another wire continues from the mic to the speaker. Since this is a "coil" earbud, the actual wire doesn't go all the way to your ear, rather it has a small speaker which the plastic clear tube clips on top of. The speaker has another clip on it, and snaps nicely to the receiving end of the tube. The tube then goes up to your ear delivering the sound. It all works very well. As the other reviewer mentioned, this headset is not designed for having the mic on your sleeve, you'd need a two wire setup to do that. I don't think this is a genuine Motorola accessory as it doesn't come with any labels (arrives in a ziploc bag), but it works perfect with my Motorola Talkabout radios. If you have the mic clipped high enough on your lapel you don't even have to look down or move the mic to talk, it picks you up just fine. Audio quality is as good as you'll get with two way radios (average, but workable). This will NOT fit an iPhone/iPod or most cellphones as the head is one size smaller. All in all its a fantastic product, but you should be aware that if you plan on wearing it for long periods of time it will make your ears fairly sore. Also, the wire can slip off your ear if you don't keep it taut behind. Still, highly recommended.

The Silva Lensatic Compass is an intresting piece of gear...

Pros-

Heavy Duty- Strong Casing, Feels Durable

Accurate- I'm not an enigineer, but it does point North

Silva- Good Brand

Cons-

Cover- When you tilt the cover to far back, it becomes loose and flops around

Luminous Points- Lets just say, they should have left that part out of the desciption... (They're aren't any)

Overall a good compass. However if you're looking for something to orienteer with like the Scouts, this is NOT it. It is an entirly different design. Also, this is not the Military one, their's is fifty bucks and is made by Tritium. By the way- DON'T buy it from Big Edge Sports. They extented they're shipping estimate twice, and were a general pain in the a** to work with. Buy from Amazon, or Poor Fish Outdoors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tough Knife, March 15, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Wow, this is one big knife.

Pros:

Giant blade- this is quite litterally a folding sheath knife. Its blade is as long as many fixed blades including the Gerber Big Rock, and the fixed Griptilian (Benchmade).

Super lock- When you lock this blade down, you know it's not going any where. The strenghth is comparable to a full tang fixed blade, and better than a cheap hollow handle survival knife.

Pocket clip- nice pocket clip keeps the knife where you want for easy access.

Thumb stud- While this is no switch blade, it can be opened one handed quite easily with the thumb stud. However, the thumb stud is very small, so opening the knife one handed to many times will give you blisters.

Razr Sharp- super sharp, cut through just about anything.

Cons-

Snap lock- When the knife locks in place, the lock snaps up, and will easily pinch your fingers

Lanyard- While the string makes it very easy to close the knife, it often gets caught between the knife and the handle.

Slick- While the aluminum handle makes this knife look very good, it is very slippey when wet.

Overall, this is a great knife to keep in your back pocket while camping, hunting, etc. And while I have never had to, and hopefully never will, I'm quite sure this knife would make a scary effective weapon in situations that would require combat.

This is a solid knife. Genuine United States Air Force Issue.

Pros:

-Kraton handle makes for great grip
-sharp blade
-practical length
-lanyard hole

Cons

-Edge retention not the best
-No spear lashing holes

Serious Knife. This knife competes with the best of the best and yet has only a $50 price tag. I cannot comment on the sheath or the seller; didn't buy it here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hmm..., February 18, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First off, for the price you can't expect much, and this about fulfills my expectaions.

Pros:
-Mounting brackets! These are great if you, like me, can never seem to find a flashlight when you need one. They securly mount to a stud and will hold even a 6-d cell securley
-Anti Roll Head! This is an absolute necessity for large flashlights, and this one works great. It keeps the light right where you want it, so it won't roll off a table or bridge or something.

Cons:
-Blue Lens. For Penetrating smoke? Ya right. It reduces the beam so greatly you'll be lucky to see the beam at 100 yards.

-Red Lens. This works, but for what? It again greatly reduces the output. Have fun with your "night vision".

-Amber lens. There is no amber lens.

-Clear Lens! Free Bonus! Replace your old scratched lens with this beauty, fresh off the manufacturing line from right here in the USA!

Overall, great addition to any Maglite, the lens and anti roll head also work with c-cell maglites. You will probably never use the lenses unless your a top government agent or something.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, Cheap, February 17, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
There's not much to say about this flag, it's good and it's cheap. It's just the World Scout design stamped onto a piece of polyester. But it's great! It flies in the least of winds, and can be attached anywhere. This is not the flag your going to pass onto your grandson someday, as it looks like something from the dollar store (You can see right through it when upclose, and the grommets aren't much to brag about), and for that matter it doesn't cost much more!

I was really warry ordering from this "BC Novelies", but the flag arrived in a nice envelope, and in record time (2 days faster than Amazon Prime!)!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but some flaws, February 17, 2009
This is a handy tool that really simplifies sharpening. However, it has a few flaws.

Pros:

-Very Easy

-Hand Guard

-Lifetime Guarentee

Cons:

-Sharpens at 30 degree angle. Great for an axe, but for a knife, most people prefer a 20 or even a 10.

-Leaves black dust on the edge of cutlery

-Ok heres the big one: When sharpening, you press the axe into the sharpener and pull through the wheel. However, as you pull your axe out, it slices through the plastic in front of the wheel, there for somewhat dulling the axe. And sooner or later, you get deep cuts in the plastic, which really limits the sharpener's usefulness. Major design flaw.

Overall, the sharpener is great for axes, but for knives I tend to go back to the whetstone. And then there's the design flaw...

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Bright!, February 16, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Don't let the name Jr. fool you; this is a serious little light. If your looking for a good flashlight thats as small as a mini maglite but's as bright as a 3d Maglite than this is it. Don't mess around with expensive lithium batterys and heavy D-cells, Streamlight has perfected this flashlight to work off regular AA cells!

Pros:

-Super Bright (brighter then 3d cell Maglite with new batterys)
-LED never burns out
-4 hour runtime
-Tactical switch
-Runs off common AA cells
-Streamlight "No Excuses" Warrenty

Cons:

-Pocket clip scrapes away aluminum on knurling
-Pocket clip can not slide all the way down towards head, so flashlight can not be worn on hat.
-Threading on tail cap is cheap
-Beam is a bit uneven, but it's not that noticible

Overall, a great light to carry in you pocket, as the Pros far out weigh the Cons. If you like this light, you should check out the Ultrastinger, it's 6 times as bright as the Jr.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does not work with Vista!!!!, February 16, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First off this game does not work with Vista. It's just not designed to. The Divided Nation part won't install on Vista no matter what you do, and even if you do manage to get the rest of the game to work (I did- Use Compatiblity Mode), it will mess up your computer graphics wise since its from the days when 1080p was a thing for Sci-Fi fans.

With that said, this game can be a lot of fun to play, there are many key aspects of war that were left out of other games (AOE, etc) and are in this game. But there is a bit of a learning curve, so be prepared to lose a few times in the begining. You can learn a lot of history from this game, as every scenario starts out with an oral history lesson.

Overall, fun, challenging game if you can run it.
