Viva Labs CoQ10 400mg, 60 Vegetarian Softgels - Enhanced with BioPerine® for Increased Absorption

4.0 out of 5 stars Quality product and company but CoQ10 has very little established medical proof of its value though., April 27, 2016
Disclaimer: I was given a free sample before I made this review.

Reviewing a product like this is difficult due to the fact that it often takes somewhat of a longer time span to see if supplements like this are actually "working" or not. I can say that there were no side effects, seemed like a quality product, and Vivalabs seems to be an established quality source for supplements. But as for the actual product doing something of immediate and/or definitive value would be very difficult to ascertain. WebMD says this is taken for your heart, cancer prevention, and assists with recovery from exercise (all with very little proof/studies). There's probably better (and more studied/proven) alternatives though to do the same sorts of things CoQ10 claims to do.

2.0 out of 5 stars No simmer/warm setting - Lowest temp still boils. Controls are ridiculous. Noisy fan. Cooks fast., April 25, 2016
Controls - They're terrible. I ignored the reviews complaining about this thinking, "They must just be confusing at first." No, they're awful from day one until the end of time. They're so bad I kind of want to rate this thing 1 star instead of 2.

Size - There are some induction units that are smaller so be aware of the size of this thing by checking product dimensions.

Noise - Be aware there's a fan that turns on and a magnetic(ish) sounding rattle as your pan heats up. It's probably as noisy as the vent fan over your stove.

Performance - It cooks super fast. Glass is pretty. Seems quality built. Switching over to different temperatures can potentially ruin your food if you're not blazing fast with the stupidest controls ever. If that seems like a ridiculous statement, then you haven't experienced these controls yet.

Major flaws - It can't just keep something warm. It's basically at a boil temp minimum. This makes this device nearly worthless for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars You don't make time to study philosophy, instead philosophy allows one to have time to live a life worth living., March 23, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought both the Kindle and paperback version of this book from Amazon. The Kindle edition I got has all the letters (about 2-3x more than the paperback). Tim Ferris (author of The Four Hour Workweek) described this book as his operating system that all other 'programs' are installed upon. This is a very good description of what this book is. It's amazing to see the massive amount of similar issues, thoughts, and problems that were common 2000 years ago to be nearly identical in our current age.

This is not a philosophical book that rambles on in such high level abstract thoughts that you can't gain anything from it, and Seneca also does a great job at berating philosophers that just get into semantic debates or ones where there is no enlightening outcome. Other reviewers describe the book in its detail well, but suffice it to say that this is one of the most practical and entertaining books on Stoic philosophy that will allow you to practically live a better life.

2.0 out of 5 stars Probably should be a Kindle only book - Looks like the book is just a long blog post converted to a book., March 23, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I usually don't have to write about the quality of the book itself vs the contents, but it's important to realize that the book's first page started off talking about a children's coloring book, and then starts on the random page number and continues on without any real structure / contents. There may be chunks of the book missing from the print edition, or this just might be the way the book is. After I read the book in 30 minutes, I suspected the high reviews - several other reviewers here have dead profiles and have only ever rated this book. The physical book also has hyperlinks in it (eg. "Check out *this* site to read more.") which is a bit annoying. It seems like the book was originally Kindle only and then as an afterthought was self published in a very hurried manner.

The book's contents are good though, but not detailed enough that you can actually accomplish many of the suggestions he's laid out in the book. A true beginner will get lost on the AdWords site and unfortunately there's not a single (grainy) picture of the AdWords site to help guide anyone around.

I'm torn though, the information is good, which is worth something for sure, but it's no more detailed, explained better, or more organized than any blog would be on the subject.

Wilson Electronics 460106 Sleek - Vehicle Cellular Signal Booster for Single User - Retail Packaging - Black
Wilson Electronics 460106 Sleek - Vehicle Cellular Signal Booster for Single User - Retail Packaging - Black

5.0 out of 5 stars Takes a weak worthless signal and makes it very strong. Awesome!, March 15, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Fantastic product that clearly works extremely well. Super simple to set up and placement of the antenna is very forgiving. I even use the product indoors (the power is just a typical USB cord that can plug into your cell phone wall charger) and works great.

You can see the cell signal improve by going to the Settings -> More - > About Device -> Status and look to see what your signal strength is and watch it jump right up. This is more accurate than just looking at the bars on the top of the screen.

People state that when it works people love it and when there's not enough signal to amplify then its just junk.

I would imagine the secret on knowing whether this will work for you or not is seeing your strength currently. If its over -110dB it's probably not going to work. Or if you can't make any calls, ever (not just static ridden calls that drop), then it's probably not going to work for you. Otherwise if you shows hints of having occasional signal it's worth a shot!

Viva Labs Pycnogenol, 100 mg, 60 Veggie Capsules - Proprietary French Pine Bark Extract
Viva Labs Pycnogenol, 100 mg, 60 Veggie Capsules - Proprietary French Pine Bark Extract
Offered by Viva Naturals
Price: $52.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Received free sample - Product appears high quality and work, March 15, 2016
Firstly, I was giveb a free sample of this product from Vivalabs.

WedMD states this is used for mental function, asthma, athletic performance, and allergies. I definitely feel like the mental function has a slight effect and the athletic performance seems to have improved as well. There are probably better choices for both of these things (eg. Using a pre workout formula for atheltic perofrmance or using other supplements for brain fucntion).

However VivaLabs seems to deliver a quality product here that I'm happy to review and the Pycnogenol seems to do what it's supposed to do, although the effects are slight (as they should be).

2.0 out of 5 stars Awful book title, brilliant ideas almost 'accidentally' leaked throughout the book., February 14, 2016
People have already covered the fact that this book is full of fluff, noting the ridiculous amount of filler, and even going through lengths to count blank pages. There's no doubt that this book is pretty much garbage. It would have been a better title if it was, "Ramblings and The Apprentice." And if that was the title, it would get 5 stars.

However, no one can hide 100% of their mindset when they ramble for hours, and Trump almost "accidentally" cranks out a few good points amidst a terribly written book. The most notable (and obvious?) ones are:

1) Trump is tremendously positive. He's a perfectionist, but achieves this because he's somewhat blind to imperfections, and loves the idea of creating value for people and relishes in the idea that powerful people love his products.
2) Trump knows what he's good at, remains confined to that area of expertise, and has absolutely no problem looking to outside counsel and does so often. He's tremendously conceited, but not a know-it-all. That's a tight rope to walk as well as Trump does.
3) Trump's mind works constantly, and isn't afraid to work long and hard, whether it's on a project or the Apprentice. He would strangle Tim Ferris for his 4 Hour Work Week ideas.
4) Trump enjoys what he's doing in regards to work immensely.
5) Trump deeply appreciates a good mate that contributes to his life as opposed to runs challenges to it constantly.
6) Trump is tremendously aware of his time. He can't stand wasting it in any way (bad meetings, sleeping too long, etc). Everything you want in life costs either time or money. Trump clearly loves both of those things.
7) Trump knows that references and personal networks are vital (he often asks for opinions from those he trusts). He's not Googling for answers on his own or clicking on a nifty AdWords ad to get help.
8) Trump knows that attire is important. The media portrays a lot of the pioneers of business being younger and dressed like slobs, but there's still value in dressing well.
9) Trump is optimistic to almost a degree of insanity, but he still knows that failure can occur at any point in time and doesn't give up when it happens.

I could tell you about the structure of the book, or what's supposed to be covered. But other people have pointed out it's garbage and it is, so there's no point in reiterating that. But there's still hidden gems in this book to reiterate what you probably already knew (and didn't implement?) that might be helpful.

Interesting product. Took it and immediately felt like I had some increased focus/awareness. It doesn't turn you into a super genius overnight, but brain fog is definitely lifted. Company packages/ships things professionally and quickly. I did get a free trial bottle in exchange for this review as well, which makes for a nice value.

1.0 out of 5 stars Placebo, even when paired with Citicoline CDP Choline, August 6, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I experience brain fog, normal states, and that ephemeral state of "flow." And like most people, I have trouble remembering things on occasion and would like to eliminate the brain fog from being quite such a common mental state. I had high hopes, but this product did nothing to alter any of these qualities or states at any point. I also bought the Citicoline CDP Choline that one top rated reviewer said you "needed to feel any real effects" with this product. So when I mention taking the pills, I'm referring to taking both Alpha Brain AND Citicoline.

I took the pills on a normal state day and experienced nothing.
I took the pills on a brain fog day and experienced nothing.
I took the pills before bed to get the lucid dreams...Not only did I not have a lucid dream, but I didn't remember my regular dreams at all.

Determining that perhaps the pills needed to build up in your system to prevent future brain fog episodes, I took the pills daily, but brain fog states popped up just as frequently as before.

A lot of people reviewed their findings subjectively, but I also wanted an objective measure as well. So, I also took a variety mental quizzes before I took the pills and after. Considering there's nothing on the label (or any evidence) that says how long it takes these things to work (because they don't), I just started taking quizzes often - both prior to taking the pills and during usage, and after usage. No difference on an objective level either.
Not convinced and think it's just me? I also gave these pills to 3 other people, differing in health, intellect, and gender. Despite me hyping up the pills to them and not biasing them with my own experiences, we all had one consistent finding we had in common with these pills - they do absolutely nothing. Not long term, not short term, not for fat people, not for fit people, not for men or for women.
