Practical Advice from an Evolved Soul
Practical Advice from an Evolved Soul
Price: $2.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Practical advice from an Evolved Soul, December 22, 2012
Fifi is a very colorful character who dreams of one day becoming a famous actress, but for now she will have to be content to just be a waitress in LA. She has had several auditions, but for some reason she has yet to land a role, her star will come some day, but in the mean time she will stay warm, cozy and happy surrounded by family and her special dream world she has created for herself.

This book is filled with poems, silly tweets and stories of her zany dreams she has almost daily. At one point she comes to the conclusion, the reason she hasn't been offered a role yet, is maybe she needs to change agents. Once again she is found in a very comical, awkward state where she learns that this new agent can make her famous, but it may cost her giving up her soul, suddenly staying with her old agent sounds very attractive, then dealing with the devil.

Fifi has two spirits or aliens who offer practical advice towards the end of the book. Au and Goth's practical advice is at times humorous and very practical. "Can you survive life living on this Earth doing everything yourself?" Good question, the answer is you will need help. "Success in life is understanding and using the Power of "We" in a constructive way..." I learned a lot from this section, that in order to be a success, we must first be humble enough to be able to ask for help from others.

This book is different, zany, humorous and sometimes unbelievable, but I feel you will come away with a lot of sound practical advice you can apply to your life. If anything it will teach you how to laugh at yourself, realize that money isn't always this most important thing in the world and failing can teach us some very valuable lessons. This book is recommended for anyone who wants to learn a little more about themselves and learn perseverance can sometimes pay off.

Edwin Blair traveled from the future to warn President Lincoln of alien invaders. He has been here in this time period for several weeks. They have 14 of the aliens as prisoners, that they refer to as the "pest". After several attempts to communicate, the aliens seem to understand Indian sign language, much to Edwin's amazement. He finds it hard to believe that these are the same aliens that destroyed his world and were cold blooded killers.

Edwin has been having constant nightmares and his headaches have become severe, at times disabling him. He has no idea if the changes that have occurred, will have any impact on the future, due to the fact he can't remember his password to his computer to check it out.

John Hay, one of the men on Lincoln's staff, at Edwin's request, has been keeping a daily journal to aid him in case he needs to be reminded of bits and pieces of his life, he fears he may forget.

This is the second book in this series and it has kept this reader on the edge of the seat with anticipation. As a history buff, I have really enjoyed the early morning discussions with Lincoln, his staff and Edwin. Even though Edwin is from the future it appears he has adjusted to the past very comfortably, but one has to ask the question. Will Lincoln be able to end the civil war or will the aliens change the course of history?

In this book you will meet many well known historical characters and it was refreshing to learn about each one. There are many surprises in store for the reader in this book. I would highly recommend this book to all history/science fiction lovers. You will grow to love the characters and will be anxiously awaiting the next installment in this series.

In this book, Hamwright discusses 5 Secrets to a healthy christian relationship from a guys point of view. In order to have a good relationship you must first start with friendship, affirmation, communication, trust and support. These qualities are vital if you want a lasting relationship.

I really enjoyed reading this book, especially when I reached the chapter on trust. "Trust is the glue of life. It's the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It's the foundational principal that holds all relationships". (Stephen R. Corey) This chapter continues with 5 levels of trust in which all relationships need to achieve in order to continue to grow. Many people have a problem with trust and I feel this chapter will help guide you to a better understanding. "Trust is a precious, fragile thing".

I would highly recommend this book to any christian who needs to strengthen their relationship or who may be beginning a new relationship. The facts are explained in layman's terms for all to understand. The advice on relationships Hamwright offers in this book is straightforward and to the point. I feel this would be a great book for bible studies or for christian couples who have just recently started dating. I am sure it will make the bond of their love even stronger and strengthen their faith to continue their walk with God together.

It's 2056, the first president of the United States is an android. The world is now being controlled by machines. This book very much reminds me of the movie "Terminator", when machines took over and humans were being replaced. Can you imagine a world where humans are obsolete? This android is equipped with an abundance of information and is capable of running the country.

The world needs a boost from its economic crisis and Tron 7000 is the one to bring the country back to unity. The new president has a plan to bring people back to work and make the country prosperous again. This new plan will have machines and humans working together.

Stone is a human newspaper journalist, he is almost the only human left doing this type of job. He is concerned about the changes that have been made in the country. We created these computers to help and aid us, not to tell us what to do. What Stone fears is beginning to happen, once an assassination attempt has been made on the new president things begin to change dramatically. The new president reaches in the crevices of his computer made mind and begins to make new laws and starts putting in place Hitler's ideas in order to change the country. He feels this will make the world a better place for all androids, as there is no need for humans any longer.
.
This is a interesting book, it makes one think what would happen to the world if we let machines take over. Already today we have computers that decide our elections. It is a scary thought that what happened in this book could very well happen in our future. I would recommend this book to all science fiction buffs who would love to see what a futuristic outlook in the computer/android world would reveal if we let machines take over. You will come away surprised, angered, sad and very perplexed, but this book does give you the insight of what may be in store for future generations. Can the world survive without humans?

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ivy Lessons, November 12, 2012
Sophia has been accepted to a prestigious acting college in London, called The Ivy College. She still finds it hard to believe she has won a scholarship. This college is owned and ran by a famous actor named, Marc Blackwell. She remembers the day she auditioned, she threw caution to the wind and gave it all she had, now she is completely surprised that she has been accepted. Currently she has been helping out her Dad and his new wife, who has recently had a baby. How was she going to tell them she wanted to move away? Could they do without her?

Once Sophia arrives on the college grounds, she catches a glimpse of her new teacher and is mesmerized. How is she going to be be able to take a class or even communicate with someone, who comes off as a very aloof, arrogant, snooty individual, who just happens to be extremely handsome.

Many stories are written about teacher/student affairs, but this one takes off slow, but blossoms quickly, but another student also has her eyes on the new good looking teacher and she has made it clear on the first day of class she would love a few private acting lessons.

If you a true romantic, then this book is for you. Go ahead, get out the blanket, plump up the pillows in the old chair by the fire and settle down for a very erotic, sensual reading experience. I would highly recommend this book for all who need a lift out of their mundane, winter, quiet world for awhile. The plot is great, the writing flows gently and once you reach the end of the book you will only be wanting more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Jesus Phenomemon Return: End of the World, November 12, 2012
Fritz, the author of Jesus Phenomenon Return: End of the world, covers many questions regarding the second coming of Jesus Christ. Fritz Michel is described, as a true angel and prophet. In this book he goes into detail how God has many messengers to bring the gospel to the people here on earth. Many of these people are true to their word, but many are false prophets.

This book goes into great discussions, why we have had world wars and will continue to have rumors of wars. Why we will continually have people who will claim to be Jesus, but are only here on earth to gain what they can for themselves, but not to do good in the name of God.

Fritz also goes into deep detail, how society today has gone astray from God's teaching's. How there is much hate and bitterness. There are many scriptures that I feel could strengthen the Christian lay person's walk with Christ covered in sections of this book.

Much detail is written about the second coming, which you can read about in the Bible, in the last chapter in Revelations. At one point in the book, Fritz, describes in detail how after Christ has returned that," Airports that already exist will be for local traffic at no charge", he describes, "how farmers will provide food, but everyone will become vegetarian's", how everyone will live in harmony with love, compassion and be able to walk daily with Christ.

As a Christian believer I have read many interesting, inspiring books to help encourage me in my daily walk with Christ. This book is a bit different, as I have never read some of the descriptions of what life will be like before and after Christ comes again, but I am sure it could help someone grow closer to God. Fritz has done a great deal of research on many facts in this book, that I am sure will bring a interesting discussion among believers of God.

In today's society we often forget how to laugh and smile. At times it's pure silliness, a joke or a picture that will bring a smile to our faces. The ridiculous is what we are yearning to find and in this book I feel the author has scored a hole in one.

The writing style reminds me a lot of another comical writer, Robert Benchley. Growing up as a kid, he was one of my favorites. I could sit and laugh at his illustrations and stories all day. It looks like it's time for Benchley to move over a tad and share this spotlight with Royce.

This book came to life to aid a close friend of Royce's who needed a laugh. The satire is comical, witty and completely zany, but written to make one happy and forget about anything serious that may be happening in their lives. It's a collection of stories, pictures and essays, that is sure to please and bring a smile to even the grumpiest of people.

I can't really say that any part was my favorite, as I found the whole book very enlightening, but if I have to narrow it down I have to admit the story of the dish and the spoon had me laughing so hard I had tears running down my face.

I would highly recommend this read to all who want to take a step back and forget life for a while. It will lighten your load and make you appreciate humor again at its finest. Humor is a strong medicine and its something we all need to rediscover from time to time, but the best lesson you will learn from this book is that laughter is indeed the best medicine.

The time has come for Prince Alexander to get his own set of Indaesous beast. These beast will be his protectors, but Prince Alexander's will be very unique and different. At his command they can become invisible. He decides once he arrives back to the palace he will slip past the guards with them, but this only starts
a new set of troubles for Prince Alexander. Can Prince Alexander keep his new pair of protectors? Many have already noticed their great size and may start to fear them.

Prince Alexander soon learns from his Father, he will need to leave the palace and begin training his new beast and the best place to go is the desert. It could take two years or more to train them properly and he will be traveling with a breeder named Leiloni. Once in the desert Prince Alexander is met with many obstacles and many mysteries are revealed to him.

This is a young adult science fiction book with page after page of adventure. My favorite part was in the beginning when the Prince was eating dinner with his Father, the King. The Prince was very anxious to get started on his journey to the Barein Cliffs to see the hundreds of Indaesous beast and the breeders. He couldn't believe he would be coming home with two of his own. Now if only his Father would dismiss him from the dining hall so he could start his trip.

There are so many colorful characters in this book. You will meet breeders, a dust statue and the infamous Indaesous beast. Once Prince Alexander comes back home after his training, he comes home a wiser man and ready to give answers to many questions that his Grandmother and the King have been wanting to know about.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good science fiction read. I really wished the author would have been more descriptive about what kind of animal the beast were and more about what they looked like, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very refreshing! Even though this is a young adult book, I am sure anyone would love to take a wonderful journey with Prince Alexander and come away wanting the adventures to never end.

Someone is killing Landlords in New York, one in Brooklyn and one in Central Park. Ross Cortese, who works for the NYPD, is coming up empty handed on information on the case and brings in Ruth Wilson, who has worked with the FBI in the past as a profiler to help with the case. When another landlord is attacked, but not killed Cortese feels this may be the break he needs to help solve the murders.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the way Cortese and Kelsey, his partner worked together. They were humorous and had fun, but when the stakes were high they were able to go into action quickly to solve the case at hand.

Cortese has a lot on his mind about the serial murder case, but when something mysteriously happens to his girlfriend as she is getting on a subway, this only throws new emotions in his already boggled mind. Now he must find a serial killer and find the one responsible for his girlfriend's recent illness that lands her in ICU.

This book is filled with action, romance and violence. The book was very addictive and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. The characters are colorful and creative and I was still thinking about them long after the book ended. This is a must read!

Jo Warrington was downtown walking to a very important interview, when she is met by a very colorful dressed man who keeps following her. The last thing she needs is any distractions. She has recently lost her dad in a horrible machinery accident and she doesn't need any more sadness or bad luck in her life, which is why she needs to ace this interview and get back to the orchard farm.

Danny Fitani needs to convince Jo that he is from the future and her life is already in danger, as she has been selected to be a contestant in the "Play or Die" game. The clock is ticking and every minute counts. Fitani has told Jo she has five days to try to hide from the Hunter, if she survives, the hunt is over, but if she dies at the Hunter's hands he gets 50 million dollars, which she feels is quite unfair, but the really unfair advantage is the fact that the Hunter is given her location every 3 hours, so she has to be on the move constantly. Suddenly right before Fitani disappears he tells her the Hunter is 50 yards away from her. She looks up and sees a hooded figure coming towards her. Jo starts running for her life.

My favorite part of the book is when Jo goes shopping for different looks. She buys wigs, running clothes and all kinds of changes of clothing. I really enjoyed when she is in disguise and is able to walk right past the Hunter unnoticed. Once Richard, a friend of the family, enters the picture the pace of the book picks up dramatically.

This book has action, violence and romance. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. This is a great read. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a action packed, science-fiction thriller.
