There is lots of information about Southern Italy in very detailed section. There are no maps or photos but google maps can fill in the gaps. Good value for the price.

Rick Steves' Switzerland

5.0 out of 5 stars Switzerland according to Rick, November 20, 2013
It has taken me some time to realise that Rick Steve's books are really what Rick likes and not an all encompassing guide book. He avoids some of the tourist traps and adopts his philosophy of 'Europe through the Back Door' which encourages travellers to explore Europe by going off the beaten track and absorbing Europe as a local will. Hence he chooses Gimmelwald, a small mountain village over Grindelwald a larger tourist driven town. Fortunately I find my tastes tend to match Ricks as I prefer to visit the small towns rather than the large cities. I like the way he lists and rates the highlights and gives you tips about how to get there and what money saving tips there are. However his books are not exhaustive reviews of every city, town and sight there is, just what he believes are worth seeing and obviously that is not everyone's choice. Probably Lonely Planet or Frommers would be better options in those cases.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the Rippingtons Russ!!!, May 23, 2005
This review is from: Safe at Home (Audio CD)
With regard to the previous reviewer please be aware that this is Russ Freeman the pianist NOT Russ Freeman the guitarist and leader of the Rippingtons. I believe Amazon need to separate the 2 into different pages but there you go.

I have not heard this CD so my rating is irrelevant but thought you might need a heads up in view of potential confusion. Go for the new Rippingtons album Wild Card - great stuff.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the Very Best!!!, January 9, 2005
Whilst I am an avid fan of Keiko's music and enjoy all her CDs this is just another re-issue of her early catalogue. This tracklist is from her 2 early CDs Under Northern Lights (tracks 1,3,5,7&9) and No Borders (tracks 2,4,6,8,10&11) and is far from her VERY best as much of her better work can be found on later albums such as Sapphire, Doll, Deep Blue and Whisper from the Mirror. Also try her new CD Walls of Akendora on which the Japanese version has a bonus DVD of a concert in Tokyo which is simply fantastic. Quite simply there are much better Keiko CDs out there rather than this re-issue but if you don't have her early material then this is a good sample of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Brings Chills, September 8, 2003
This review is from: The Boy Next Door (Audio CD)
After the disappointment of Dreamsville, and the improvement of In Love Again, Stacey hits the spot once again with The Boy Next Door. Some of her interpretations like What The World Needs Now Is Love take a few listens to grow on you but others like the title song and You're The Top hit you straight away and leave you breathless. This is Stacey's tribute to the great male singers and succeeds admirably especially as we (I) are more accustomed to hearing the Tony Bennetts and Frank Sinatras of the world singing these. Bravo Stacey!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cruisin' Madrid - Classical Soul, May 22, 2003
If you love guitar jazz with a touch of latin in it then Marc Antoine is your man. This is a cross section of his work from all 5 albums and contains much of his best work including my favourites, Latin Quarter, Sunland and Mas Que Nada. If you have all or most of his albums already then this is probably unnecessary but if you have never heard his music before but like Peter White, Ken Navarro or Chuck Loeb then you will love his music. Give it a listen you won't be disappointed

2.0 out of 5 stars A Touch of Cr**, January 23, 2001
This review is from: Planet Pop (Audio CD)
ATC is supposed to stand for "A Touch Of Class" but if ever there was a mis-named group this is it. If this CD has class then George W Bush is a dynamic speaker. It has one memorable tune in "Around The World" and the rest is an exercise in mediocrity. This same sounding 'euro-pop' is just an excuse for song writers to churn out the same tune with different words and arrangements. Give it a miss, there are many more CDs out there in this genre that are much more worthy of your money. Try Steps, BBMak, or even Scooch who all have much more variety and energy than this coaster.

4.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Laura, June 18, 2000
This review is from: Laura Fygi Live (Audio CD)
This is an enjoyable collection of some of Laura's better known songs but personally leaves out 2 of my favourites 'It Might As Well Be Spring' and 'The Lady Wants To Know' but nevertheless captures the essence that is Laura. There are a some tracks with a few French (I think) lyrics in 'Disse Alguem' and 'For Me, Formidable' but it does not distract from the feeling of an intimate occasion in the presence of the great Laura Fygi. Her new CD 'The Latin Touch' is also worth a listen. Try for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Keyboard Smooth Jazz, May 19, 2000
This review is from: You'll Know It's Me (Audio CD)
This is a great album from Gregg and deserves to be in your collection. If you like Bob Mamet, Brian Culbertson or Alex Bugnon there's a good chance you'll adore this one. My favourite tracks are the vocal You'll Know It's Me and Del Mar Run, but they're all good and great to relax to.
