Aquasana AQ-4500 Complete Under Counter Water Filter System
Aquasana AQ-4500 Complete Under Counter Water Filter System

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality water at an expensive price, February 5, 2012
We have just replaced our Aquasana AQ 4050 system and wished that we had done so years ago. We replaced it with a Watts Filter-Pure UF3 system which produces much better water for a better price. The Aquasana unit produced poor tasting water, came with a cheap plastic faucet that eventually stopped working, had filters that were difficult to change, had poor customer service and was very expensive to buy new filters for. Also, the pressure in the unit is reduced such that the flow is way too slow. Aquasana will sign you up with a discount if you sign on to a program where they automatically send you replacement filters every six months - they are still way too expensive even after that! I realize now that we were drinking sub-standard water from the Aquasana unit for over a year, despite all the so called specifications and website comparisons that they put out. Sorry to post a negative review but I enjoyed throwing the Aquasana unit into the trash!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent system - good price and quality, February 5, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We are very pleased with the quality and cost of this Watts Filter-Pure UF3 system. Over the years we have had several systems and this one produces the best water by far. Any system that can transform Los Angeles tap water into a fresh tasting draught has to be good! The cost is reasonable, but like anything else, it's the replacement parts that really price an item over the long run. The replacement filters are $9,95 for the sediment filter and $29.95 for the Lead and VOC filter, which needs replacing every six months. The UF membrane is $35 and needs replacing only once a year. This is considerably cheaper that the Aquasana unit that it is replacing, and the quality is much better. Changing the filters is simple too, they just snap in and out, with a very good double o ring seal. It also comes with a heavy duty quarter turn faucet, not a cheap plastic one, which seems to be the standard with most other systems. Easy to install. Very impressed over all and thoroughly recommend this unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars A rewarding read, January 3, 2012
I really enjoyed reading this fascinating and very well written book. It is uplifting and full of hope - a particularly welcome message in today's often gloom filled world. I particularly like that Christ's message focusses on love and forgiveness of others and self, and expressly discourages worship through fear. I also like that topics not usually associated with Christian teachings, such as the Om and the Third Eye, are addressed in an enlightening way. Light comes in with this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on the subject, May 9, 2008
This is the best book I have seen on the subject of outdoor ovens or outdoor cooking. It's a great combination of beauty (lots of gorgeous photos), and practical how to information. It covers everything you need to know if you are thinking of buying or building an outdoor oven. By the time you're on page ten, you'll be convinced that you have to own one. I can attest that food cooked in one of these ovens tastes incredible. It's also a lot of fun. Usually 'the guys' end up doing the actual cooking (the easy part), while the ladies stand off sipping their wine. Everyone is happy! Oh, and it's also a nice coffee table book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful watch, February 5, 2008
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a beautiful watch and lives up to the manufacturer's specs with the exception of thickness. Although it is wonderfully slim, it is in fact 6.2mm thick and not 5mm as specified. This is the case with the other thin Skagen watches that I have purchased. Skagen's web site also contains innacurate information regarding actual thicknesses. They should correct this as the products are excellent, but customers have the right to know exactly what they are purchasing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Herbal Magick by Judith Hawkins-Tillerson, November 5, 2007
This book was full of surprises. It is so wonderfully written that I am going to let some quotes from the book do the telling. It is very unusual to find a book that presents tons of useful information that doesn't read like an encyclopedia; the author's wonderful use of the English language instead makes it read more like poetry! Here's a typical paragraph: 'We find that the entire Corpus Hermeticum is late anitquity's densely saturated, intellectually sophisticated, and magically erudite Neoplatonic stew. As it happens, this savor and complex broth was, at the outset, a 'stone soup', to which many profound and recondite thinkers added a turnip here, an onion there, a handful of parsley, simmer 600 years or so and bing!' Nothing more to add, except Thank You Judith Hawkins-Tillerson.
