5.0 out of 5 stars Really interesting read!, February 18, 2014
I wish I had some of the credentials as the other reviewers of this book, but have to say as a casual fan of aviation and the sr-71 in general... This book is awesome! It's packed with the nuggets of insider detail and never drags down into meaningless engineering numbers often associatd with more technical reads. The flow of the book is really nice- taking the reader through al,ost a "day in the life" of an sr-71 mission. Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Stops charging after a few months, June 3, 2013
When this product works. It is essential to have- the battery on the iphone isn't the greatest, and the mophie case doubles this (allowing me to get through a day without having to scramble for a charger). There are a few problems however:
1) Charging this is via a USB mini cable (one provided). It falls out easily and doesn't make the best connection due to the depth of where the usb needs to touch (the case prevents a good connection)
2) After 6 months of keeping this in your pocket it will break. I have gone through 2 (original replaced) and the warranty is for one year on your original purchase.

To sum it up: Nice battery pack. Solid feel. Not too bulky to carry... but quits after 6 months.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not print well, April 17, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A problem with buying ink catridges is that if you do not print more than a page a month and the catridge itself runs out of ink- you are stuck. This is the case with this purchase. I have printed 10 pages since buying this a month ago and it ran out.

Net: Buy your ink direct where it doesn't sit in a warehouse and dry out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine with DefTech SSA-42, August 28, 2012
Not sure what the negative feedback is all about. Two metal brackets at half the cost of some other metal brackets. Holds the SSA-42 fine under a Sony Bravia 42" TV. I'd give 5 stars.. but 5 stars for a stamped metal bracket? ehh. Point is.. why pay double for stamped metal? I don't get how another provider can charge an extra $25 for such a simple product.

5.0 out of 5 stars So so bad. I can't stop reading it!, February 27, 2012
When I read this book I laugh a lot. A lot! You should get it. It's so horribly written I hope my family never throws it away like the trash it is. I equate it to the book version of a cut in my mouth. It hurts but I keep going back to it... I can't turn away from it.

Remember the "telephone" game you would play as a kid? Kids sit in a line and pass the "secret" word until it gets to the end... and all laugh to discover the final word is nowhere near the original? That's how I imagine this book was written. As you turn each page it may have nothing to do with the last.

Writer 1 begins the story, passes it to Writer 2, to Writer 3, to Writer 4, etc. etc. Each writer is tasked with progressing the story but doesn't necessarily need to maintain the plot line of prior pages. I guess one writer actually took a page out of another book (perhaps off of the scrap pile) and inserted it into this story, just to see if it would get printed.

To further the hilarity, this exercise in writing was provided to the editor 15 mins prior to submission to the printing press. The editor quickly made a change or two, ran down the hall to the translation dept. to get it translated into English, stood over the high schooler earning extra credit for a class and then ran it over to the printing press. No double checking... just send it and print it.

Worst story EVER!
EVER!

Spoiler Alert: Lady ends up back in Sodor... Thomas feels useful (by lucking into finding a magic world in which an abandoned engine that creates gold with her wheels just happened left at some point without coal!?! Who does that?)

Definitely worth picking up if you are just too sure of your reading skills. Want to feel like you are a child reading only words, but haven't actually learned to comprehend a story? Read this book! You will flip back to prior pages and look for a few you must have missed at some point.

Like finding Lady behind the magic buffers I read this book in hope of finding the magic lost pages that make it a coherent story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't expect much, January 11, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am using this battery on Lenovo T61. It fits and provides power, but at full screen brightness, running Wireless... the battery lasts a bout 80 minutes. I typically have 5-6 applications open at a given time, and I'm not sure if that plays into the power consumption. Bottom line- it works, but not for as long as I expected it to.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good microwave.. but only works for a year?, December 19, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this microwave from an Amazon.com seller called evVive Home. After installing the unit it worked great for 11 months. One problem with "normal" operation is that you can not use the kitchen timer while microwaving something. Not too big of a deal. The unit looks nice and the install was pretty easy.

The problem is that it no longer works. I called up Samsung and they said that the warranty for this unit went out in November, 2010. I bought it from evVive on Jan. 3, 2011. Ouch. After speaking with Samsung this unit was also part of a recall for something wrong with the power cord (although only units built from June - July). My unit was built in August. Great.

So I'll edit this entry as the "saga" develops. I have requested a repair for the microwave and contacted evVive to see what they say about the warranty being out of the unit prior to even selling it. I expect to hear back from them soon.

Update: Samsung is going to honor the one year parts and labor on the purchase and I expect to see a service call over the next few days on the unit. Samsung customer service I found to actually be very good. It will be nice to see the microwave working again for the holidays... wish I didn't have to go through this at all, but so far so good from Samsung standing by their service.

1.0 out of 5 stars Remove from the box and it is barely audible, July 7, 2009
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
Awful. It says on the box that once you remove it the sound decreases... it's so low though that there is no way it grabs the attention of any child. This is a really really bad and boring toy. Do NOT buy this thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, energenic and at times..., raw, August 1, 2006
My review will be the 385th for this album on Amazon. Take a look at the bottom right hand part of the page and think about it... if that many people take the time to write reviews doesn't that say something about an album?

Those who seem not to like this album cite the raw qualities of some of the songs. An example of this would be on "Two Headed Boy," an acoustic song in which the recording is allowed to crack (or blur?) as the singer reaches a crescendo and hits high notes in the song. It's a raw sound that I think really brings the listener closer to the song. It's as if you are sitting in the room with the singer as the recording is never distorted but left in it's original un-cut state.

What draws me to this album, is that it is just that... an album. Sure, you can pick out a single here and there and play it on shuffle, but to listen to what this band did as a whole may help those who didn't "get" it at first.
