5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing screen protector with easiest installation EVER, December 16, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is by far the best screen protector I have ever used. I've installed many different kinds, materials, and brands of screen protectors on my phones, tablets, cameras, and game consoles over the last several years, but this was the first time I'd ever tried ballistic glass. It's amazing. I did the standard "steamy bathroom" setup, as I usually do, and was truly shocked at how easy this installation was. The ballistic glass holds its shape and is therefore easier to align to your phone than the flimsy, flexible acrylic protectors.

After reading the directions (~30 seconds), I had this screen protector perfectly installed in less than two minutes. I used the included screen-cleaning wipe and then the microfiber cloth to clean the surface of my phone. Then I peeled the film away from the screen protector, lined it up, and placed it on my phone. As the directions suggested, I then tapped the middle of the protector, just gently with my fingernail, and suddenly the adhesive radiated from the middle of the protector out to the edges. No bubbles or dust particles. Perfect installation on the very first try. I will never go back to an acrylic protector ever again. A++

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable! Fits American Girl, too, October 8, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I recently ordered several Maplelea outfits and have been extremely impressed by their level of quality and detail. I just love this Île de Passage outfit. It's really high quality, especially for doll clothes. It fits American Girl dolls perfectly (even the shoes!) and is easy to put on/remove.

The dress is a stretchy cotton material with 3/4-length sleeves. It's just adorable! It's not the softest material in the world -- it feels a little stiff -- but I suppose it needs that stiffness to keep its slightly flared shape. The dress closes all the way down the back with a full strip of non-snag velcro. The little rosette detail on the dress is sewn on. The black leggings are a "silky" material similar to bike shorts. The pink flats are some of the most high-quality doll shoes I've ever seen, with piping, a striped liner over the sole (inside), and a variegated rubber tread on the outside -- just like a real human shoe!

The set also comes with a blue plastic hanger and three "collectible" journal pages: one in English, one in French, and one blank.

This Île de Passage set is really cute and very well made. After seeing the workmanship and attention to detail that Maplelea has obviously put into this outfit, I can confirm that it's definitely worth the price, especially because it comes with the shoes, which would easily be worth about ten bucks on their own. Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice size, great color, but very loud click and sharp buttons around scroll wheel, October 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this mouse in purple, and the color in person was pretty accurate to what's shown on the screen. The retractable cord works smoothly, and the mouse has a nice, comfortable shape. I have small hands and found this mouse to be on the small side but certainly not uncomfortable or awkward, and certainly appropriate for everyday use for my second computer when I work from home. The clicking sound is crisp and surprisingly loud, fairly high in tone, and almost clangy. I realize this is perfect for some people, but unfortunately that made it too loud for my needs. I work in a quiet home office and prefer a more muffled, low-toned click. Additionally, I use the scroll wheel a lot, and while the scroll wheel made a very nice, quiet sound, the tip of my scrolling finger kept getting jabbed where the two buttons come together above and below the wheel (the corners form sharp points -- ow). So unfortunately, as much as I loved the color of this mouse, I had to return it because of the very loud clicking sound and the sharp button edges around the scroll wheel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really cute and well made, August 24, 2014

Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I recently ordered several Maplelea outfits and have been extremely impressed by their level of quality and detail. I just love this Outdoor Odyssey outfit. It's really high quality, especially for doll clothes. It fits American Girl dolls perfectly and is easy to put on/remove except for the leggings/tights because, as one would expect, they're just very tight. All the other pieces are very easy to put on/remove.

This outfit's yellow, blue, and green color palette is honestly refreshing to see in the 18" doll world as a nice alternative from all the pink that has saturated the market. (Thankfully Maplelea understands that lots of girls like other colors besides pink!) This outfit would be cute on a girl doll or a custom boy doll.

The material used to make the yellow hoodie jacket is SO soft and yummy. I've seen human-sized hoodies that aren't as nice as this. It has functional font pockets and a heavy-duty zipper that glides smoothly. The blue t-shirt is a "ringer" style with green trim around the crewneck and sleeves. It opens all the way down the back with a strip of snag-free velcro. The little plaid madras shorts are just too cute! They have a bit of a seersucker texture to them, they fasten with a velcro tab, and they have functional, fully lined pockets at the hip.

The one downside to this outfit -- surely it was an oversight on Maplelea's part, and it's hard to believe this detail slipped by them -- is that the velcro tab on the shorts is made of standard super-snaggy velcro and is sewn so that the snaggy/scratchy part faces the doll's body. This means that if you put the green tights on your doll first and then put the shorts on, the tights are almost guaranteed to get snagged by the velcro on the shorts. I had to pay really close attention to prevent snagging.

This outfit does not come with shoes, but you can buy them separately.

The set also comes with a blue plastic hanger and three "collectible" journal pages: one in English, one in French, and one blank. The English and French pages have a short journal entry from Maplelea Girl Taryn that gives tips and precautions to take when camping on a site where there are bears, like Banff National Park.

Overall, this Outdoor Odyssey set is really cute and very well made. After seeing the workmanship and attention to detail that Maplelea has obviously put into this outfit, I can confirm that it's definitely worth the price. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing quality, and fits American Girl perfectly, August 20, 2014
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered several Maplelea outfits recently and have been absolutely blown away at their level of quality and detail. This Extreme Green Snow Suit outfit is no exception: it just feels really solid and high-quality, especially for a doll outfit. It fits American Girl dolls perfectly and is easy to put on/remove. The green and white color palette is unique for the 18" doll world, and yet it's still very feminine while offering a nice break from all the pink that has saturated the market. (Thankfully Maplelea understands that lots of girls like other colors besides pink!)

The material used to make this snow suit is, in a word, sublime. It's thick, heavyweight, waterproof polyester -- the same stuff used to make human-sized snow suits. The jacket is fully lined in fleece, even all the way down through the arms! It's those tiny details that make Maplelea really stand out in terms of quality and attention to detail. The zipper is heavy-duty and works very smoothly. The pants are surprisingly thick and, just like the jacket, fully lined. Your doll won't feel the tiniest bit of cold in this outfit, LOL!

One thing I really appreciate about this snow suit is that the proportions are so perfect for an American Girl doll. The jacket and pants seem just the tiniest bit big at first, but once you get everything on the doll and see just how much this snow suit means Serious Business, you appreciate that the company opted to be generous with seam allowances.

The boots are so cute. They have thick rubber soles and are made of a soft, lined fabric on the upper part. They hit about mid-calf on an American Girl and were a little tricky to put on because there's no zipper down the back. They do fit AG feet, but I had to put them on at an angle (aiming the toes in kind of sideways at first) and then twist the boot about 45° so that her toes faced forward, at which point the boot slid perfectly onto her foot. Removing the boots was easy; they simply slid right off.

The headband/earwarmer is velvet, not fleece as I had expected. It's soft and slightly stretchy, and it fits American Girl heads perfectly.

The mittens are polar fleece with an elastic cuff. They were a little challenging to get on an AG because of her splayed fingers, but after some finagling, I was relieved to see that the mittens do indeed fit. However, this may be too difficult for a young child to do; so if your kid is putting this snow suit on an American Girl doll, expect to offer some quick adult help with the mittens.

The set also comes with a blue plastic hanger and three "collectible" journal pages: one in English, one in French, and one blank. The English and French pages tell a cute short story about Maplelea Girl Taryn enjoying all kinds of winter sports in Banff, Alberta.

In summary, this Extreme Green Snow Suit is just phenomenal. After seeing the workmanship and attention to detail that Maplelea has obviously put into this outfit, I can confirm that it's absolutely worth the price. American Girl would do well to take a maple leaf-shaped page out of Maplelea's book and start producing outfits of this quality. I very, very highly recommend this snow suit!

5.0 out of 5 stars They fit American Girl dolls!, August 20, 2014
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These Maplelea Sunshine Shoes actually do fit American Girl dolls! They're slightly long in the toe, however, since Maplelea Girls have longer/narrower feet. This makes them just the tiniest bit loose on AG feet, but not enough to fall off. These slip-ons are a made of a thick canvas with elastic in the corners, and they have a cute little wavy pattern on the rubber soles, just like on human-sized shoes. Adorable and really nice quality!

They also come with three "collectible" journal pages: one in English, one in French, and one blank. The English and French pages include a short message from Maplelea Girl Taryn as she shows the different symbols (flag, flower, bird, tree, etc.) of her province, Alberta.

Maplelea Highland Lass, Dance Outfit for 18 Inch Dolls

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable & very nice quality, August 20, 2014
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered several Maplelea outfits recently and am just absolutely blown away at how beautiful and high-quality they are. This Highland Lass Dance outfit hits all the marks: adorable, awesome attention to detail, easy to put on/remove, and fits American Girl dolls perfectly. Also, I'm a fan of blue and especially love the authentic Scottish Highland color palette.

The white blouse is a beautiful eyelet cotton with elbow-length puff sleeves and ruffles at the neck. The blouse opens fully down the back with a long strip of velcro, and the elastic sleeve cuffs are easy to fit over doll hands. The vest is a gorgeous dusky blue velvet and opens down the front, also with velcro. It's fully lined and has a thick, shimmery gold embroidered border. I was very pleased to see that this gold embroidery continues fully onto the back of the vest. (One of my pet peeves with human and doll clothes alike is when the manufacturer doesn't bother to continue the design elements onto the back side.) Maplelea did things right with this set and made the blouse and vest into two separate pieces that can be worn individually and mixed & matched with other outfits. The cotton blouse is particularly versatile and looks adorable with jeans!

The kilt is a thick cotton flannel and very soft to the touch. The back is nicely pleated, and the front is flat, just like a real Highland Dance kilt. It wraps around the doll's waist and secures with two squares of velcro. It has a "raw" edge on the doll's right side to make the kilt look more realistic. Fortunately, this raw edge is fully protected from additional fraying by way of a vertical stitch that runs the length of the skirt. The kilt's waistband is piped and reinforced on the inside.

The socks are a simple stretchy polyester and have the argyle pattern printed on them, not woven in. Maplelea Girl legs are narrower than American Girl legs, so the socks are a bit tight on AG, although they do indeed fit. I found it slightly challenging to get the sock cuff over an American Girl calf, but it eventually scooted along after I tugged on it for a few seconds. This may be too difficult for a young child to do, so if your kid is putting this outfit on an American Girl doll, expect to offer some quick adult help with the socks.

The ghillies (shoes) are made of a flexible pleather material and are slightly long in the toe for an American Girl. However, they still fit an AG perfectly well -- you just need to adjust the laces a bit.

Also included with this outfit are a blue plastic hanger and three "collectible" journal pages: one in English, one in French, and one blank. The English and French pages tell a short story about how Maplelea Girl Jenna gets ready for Highland Dance competitions.

In summary, this Highland Lass outfit is absolutely stellar. After seeing the workmanship and attention to detail, I feel that it is definitely worth the price tag. American Girl would do well to take a maple leaf-shaped page out of Maplelea's book and start producing outfits of this quality. I very, very highly recommend this set!

5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal quality, and so darn cute! A++, August 19, 2014
This High Country Hiking set is probably the nicest, most well-made doll outfit I have ever seen in my entire life. It hits all the marks: cute, super high-quality, easy to put on/remove, and a nice fit to boot. It fits American Girl dolls beautifully. All of the zippers are heavy-duty and work smoothly. All of the seams are fully finished. Everything that snaps or buckles or buttons does so easily. The outfit's color palette is cute, coordinated, true-to-life, and still feminine while giving us a break from all the ubiquitous pink. Thank you, Maplelea, for making a hiking set that actually *looks like* what little girls (and big girls!) wear to go hiking!

The zip-up lilac jacket is a soft velvet outer fabric -- not fleece, as I had suspected -- and is fully lined (even down the sleeves!) in a matching satiny polyester. I've seen plenty of human-sized jackets that aren't this nice. The kicker? It has flat, fully lined pockets along the princess seams in the front. With no elbow or wrist articulation, there's no way your Maplelea or American Girl will be able to rest her hand in the pockets, but seriously: +10 points for verisimilitude. The jacket sleeves are about 1 cm too long for an American Girl doll, but it's hardly noticeable and easy enough to roll them up.

The backpack is about the size of a can of soda, and I have to say that it's possibly the most awesome doll accessory ever made for anyone who loves the outdoors. All of the little buckles latch, and all of the little bungee cords stretch. The level of detail and workmanship on this backpack is astonishing for a doll toy. It's made out of the same durable, ripstop, waterproof (!) material that human-sized hiking backpacks are made of. The harness even has a chest strap and hip mounts, both with working buckles and stretchy elastic to ensure a snug fit. After lifting the top flap of the backpack, you'll see that the inner compartment has a cinch cord, just like a human-sized version. If I had one single critique about this outfit set, it's that the fabric casing of the cinch cord isn't finished on the ends where the cord comes out, so I could see it fraying a bit with play/use.

And the shoes -- oh, the shoes! It's like Maplelea took women's Keen sandals and made a perfect doll-sized replica, complete with bungee laces and defined treads on the sole. If you have purple Keens (I do!), these look exactly like them, only miniature. The polyester purple uppers are slightly fuzzy and mimic suede. The shoes are a bit long in the toe for American Girl (Maplelea dolls have a longer and more narrow foot), but they still fit thanks to the velcro strap at the back. It took nothing more than a few quick wiggles to get the shoes on my American Girl's feet.

The t-shirt is a soft ribbed cotton with double-stitched sleeves/hem and a piped crewneck collar. It features a cute mountain lake illustration with the words "Rocky Mountain Wildflowers" below it. The t-shirt opens fully down the back with a long strip of velcro, so it's easy to put on and take off your doll.

The pants continue the "just like the human version only shrunk down to doll size" trend. They're a nice, thick, ripstop khaki polyester, with pockets on each leg and hems that roll up to make capris via a little button tab. American Girl dolls have thicker legs than Maplelea girls, but fortunately these hiking pants are not too tight in the leg -- they're basically a perfect fit. If you want to roll them up to capris, though, you'll need to do so before putting them on your doll.

The hat is a silky, waterproof khaki material on what I assume is the top, with a brushed-cotton lilac liner. It has a little tan elastic chin strap sewn into the purple underside. It's a very good fit on an American Girl doll head.

The set also comes with a blue plastic hanger and three "collectible" journal pages: one in English, one in French, and one blank. The English and French pages tell a cute short story about Maplelea Girl Taryn getting ready to go camping with her family in Banff National Park.

In short, this Maplelea High Country Hiking outfit is absolutely stellar. After seeing the workmanship, attention to detail, and scores of functional extras (lining! pockets! bungees! buckles! actual treads on the shoes!), I have no choice but to say that this set is absolutely worth the price tag. American Girl would do well to take a maple leaf-shaped page out of Maplelea's book and start producing outfits of this quality. I very, very highly recommend this set!

5.0 out of 5 stars Roughly a million times nicer than the equivalent from that Swedish purveyor of furniture and meatballs, March 3, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I recently bought this storage cabinet to use as a linen closet, and I'm extremely pleased with it, considering its price point. In fact, I liked it so much that I bought a second one to sit right next to the first.

The cabinet was easy to put together. I've constructed more than 30 pieces of DIY furniture over the years from various retailers, including that well-known Swedish company (which I will write as "I K E A" to avoid having my review edited by robots), and I have to say that I was extremely impressed with this cabinet from Sauder. I would rank it in my personal Top 5 for a variety of reasons.

First, the instructions were clear and easy to follow, especially for someone who has experience putting together DIY furniture. The instructions even included tips on making minor adjustments to the hinges (loosening the mounting screws) so that you can attach them into the cabinet walls quickly and easily. These "hinge adjustment tips" also help you position the doors once the cabinet is done so that there's no gap between them (by tightening the adjusting screws). Sauder also has a ton of instructional YouTube videos that help with this -- I'd highly recommend checking them out as a reference before putting the cabinet together. All the hardware is separated and labeled in a handy plastic bubble sheet. And, all of the pre-drilled screw holes are in the right spot (!) -- a massive improvement for those who are accustomed to putting together I K E A furniture! Everything just fits. You don't have to squeeze or bend or shove or warp anything to get it to align properly.

I'm a petite/small-framed 5'4" female, and aside from having my husband bring the shipping box (110 pounds!) inside the house, I took things from there and put the cabinet together by myself with no assistance. It took about an hour and required only a hammer and a Philips head screwdriver (I'd recommend using a cordless/electric screwdriver, which will speed up the process considerably).

I do want to share a DIY furniture tip or "shortcut" I learned years ago for any other small-framed people who are putting this unit together alone. When attaching door hinges to a cabinet, it's easier for me to lay the cabinet on its side (rather than upright, as the directions invariably recommend) and then attach the hinges from there, along the floor. That way, I don't have to balance the door vertically while also aligning and tightening the hinge screws -- a task that would take at least three hands. The way I do it with the cabinet laying on its side, the door to be attached rests against the ground adjacent to the cabinet, and all I have to do is align and attach the hinges. No balancing or holding up the door. That approach has worked every time for years and definitely worked with this Sauder cabinet as well.

Both of the units I ordered had a few tiny nicks in the finish, here and there, but not on every piece. I just used a dark brown marker to fill them in, and now you can't even tell. I think these minor scratches could be totally avoided if Sauder would just put a single sheet of newsprint paper between the individual pieces in the shipping box, like how I K E A does. As it stands, the pieces are well protected by the shipping box, but they're not necessarily protected from *each other* inside the box.

All of the cabinet's interior shelves are adjustable and hold a maximum weight of 25 pounds. They are a very tight fit, though. I agree with other reviewers who said that the interior shelves are cut about 1/8" - 1/16" too wide. However, I got them to fit with a little pushing/tapping. The door handles look sleek and modern and are a cinch to attach. The cabinet's Dakota Oak finish is a lovely espresso color -- not quite as dark as I K E A 's espresso-colored furniture, though, for anyone who might be wondering.

Overall, I'm really pleased with how easy this cabinet was to construct, the extra tips on adjusting the hinges, and the appearance of the finished product. As I mentioned above, I liked the first cabinet so much that I bought a second one to sit right next to it. Constructing the second cabinet was just as easy and painless as the first. Together, they're fantastic, and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this cabinet and would not hesitate to buy it again or buy another piece from Sauder. It's so much nicer than what you'd get from I K E A.

[Also, just a quite note: Because of the depth of this cabinet (17") and the fact that all the interior shelves are adjustable, it would be great as a dollhouse apartment for adult collectors of Blythe, Pullip, Barbie, etc.!]

3.0 out of 5 stars So gorgeous, but not for petite/small-busted gals, September 27, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I tried this chemise in the red/purple combo, and it is unbelievably gorgeous. The fabric feels luxurious, and the flower detail trim is delicate and pretty. I wanted to like this chemise so badly, but it just didn't fit right on me. I'm 5'4", ~112 lbs., fairly straight figure, 32A bust, 26" waist, 32" hips; the size small fit me great everywhere except the chest. The top of this chemise is sewn so that it has two slightly "cup-formed" areas that will accommodate a larger chest, and this area puckered on me, much like a too-big bra. Sadly, I had to return it. If it was more flattering on a petite/small-busted frame, I would have kept it in a heartbeat. :'(
