5.0 out of 5 stars Very protective 17 inch Macbook Pro sleeve, March 19, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have bought two over over years. nicely built. the foam is uniquely rigid yet indentable and recoverable. Provides excellent protection by itself, though I insert mine in a black laptop briefcase from Victorinox. the sleeve fits like a glove. Attractive color, too. Well worth the price for outstanding protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Professional-recommended septic tank treatment, March 19, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This septic tank booster was the only product recommended by my septic maintenance guy. This particular version treats 1,500 gallons, not the usual 500 gallons. Since my tank was 1,500 gallons this was perfect and the price for this was about half of what three regular bottles would have cost.

1.0 out of 5 stars Music five stars, CD-R product zero stars, September 20, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The music on this CD-R recording is fantastic. Relatively obscure piano works by Mendelssohn, though delightfully played and recorded. You will undoubtedly enjoy the music.

The actual audio CD (in reality a CD-R) was bought "used" from an Amazon reseller. The price was terrific and the CD-R itself appeared to be new, though the case was worn. The reseller did state in a somewhat obscure place that it was a CD-R. Amazon lists it as an AUDIO CD when it comes up as a list item along with other items in a search. On the actual product page Amazon states that it will be a "recorded-on-demand CD-R if ordered from Amazon." The CD-R product is indeed a CD-R with the greenish tint to the back side. The front of the CD-R has a silkscreened generic Naxos logo that does not list title or tracks. The artwork consists of just a bifold printout of a low-resolution rendition of the original Naxos cover on the front and a minimal list of track names on the back. No liner notes or dates and location of recording as one typically gets from Naxos. I assume this "burned-on-demand" process must be sanctioned by Naxos as the CD-R has a silkscreened label with the Naxos logo on it.

I can understand that Naxos probably only makes small production runs of some products and that sales volume may be low enough to justify not making a second print but I find the CD-R process somehow cheap and unsettling. At the very least a CD-R should sell for less than a regular CD since a CD-R is not going to have the lifespan of a standard production CD. Further, I wonder about the nature of a purchaser's rights to the music they bought and whether those rights are possibly more restrictive with a CD-R rather than a CD. This process to me seems like a total crock and I disagree with it. If i could give Amazon and Naxos ZERO stars I would.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice features but over-rated, November 20, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I just purchased the combo cordless impact driver, drill and flashlight. First impressions:

Pros: The set came with a very nice heavy duty tool pouch that was not advertised on the Amazon website.
The driver and drill are very light weight but have plenty of power.
The belt hook on the driver and drill have been redesigned from what's shown on the website and is more functional.
The impact driver can be set for three different levels of torque, which is very handy for removing fragile, rusted deck screws without breaking them.
The drill has a 1/2 inch (13mm) chuck.
The drill keyless chuck is a one piece unit and can be tightened with one hand, not two as on many other drills by other manufacturers.

Cons: The set comes with a plastic fitted carrying case but there is only room for the impact driver, flashlight, charger and spare battery. it won't accommodate the drill.
The flashlight is totally cheesy and not that bright. they should have used an LED bulb and redesigned the reflector to make it smaller.
Although the impact driver is quiet and smooth as silk, the drill has an annoying high-pitched whine when the trigger is first pulled. the sound lessens as RPMs increase but the squeal of this drill is really obnoxious. i have never heard anything like this from all of the other cordless drills i have owned.
Very high price but i don't see any additional features that could warrant this price except perhaps for the variable torque adjustment on the impact driver.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice music, terrible editing, January 3, 2009
This review is from: Spanish Guitar Music (Audio CD)
This item is a compilation of digitally remastered analog recordings from 1968 through 1977. The first track has about 1.5 seconds of another track appended at the end. The track fades at the end of the first piece then a quick burst of music abruptly truncated, then the next track. In addition there are seven other tracks that have been truncated on this CD. Everything going along fine then, Bam! The music cuts out in mid-note and the next track starts.

The abrupt stops and extra bits in the playback are very distracting. You can be listening to this as background music and your ear will immediately detect the glitches. This makes the album virtually worthless. Buy something else. Anything by Julian Bream on RCA, for example. Julian Bream Plays Granados & Albéniz is one of the lovliest classical guitar performances on CD.

1.0 out of 5 stars looks great but fatally flawed, November 1, 2008
I've now gone through three of these faucets. I originally bought this because of the hot and cold taps in one dispenser. We have it connected to a reverse osmosis unit. The first unit failed after about two years due to the same problem described by others: the springs that close the valve eventually get stuck. This unit was replaced by InSinkErator at no cost, but the replacement unit had no warranty. About three years later I had the same valve-spring problem. lubricating with tri-flow or similar water displacing lubricant and working the handle back and forth partially freed the spring, at least enough to keep the faucet shut off. This fix lasted about a year and then it just stuck in the open position with no choice but to buy faucet number three. This one worked about 3-4 years and died the same way. I also found the tank was leaking. I think the problem with the faucet is the springs get fouled with hard water deposits or else the springs corrode. Buyer beware. if you have one and actually use it, it will die an ignominous death.

2.0 out of 5 stars Office X ran faster and had fewer bugs!, November 15, 2004
I bought Office 2004 for the Mac as an upgrade to Office X, even though I was not really having any problems with the older version. Office 2004 has been nothing but problems. Excel and Word crash more frequently. There are random but frequent hard drive accesses for no apparent reason. There are problems with removing password protection of Excel files. Worst of all are the font-related bugs in Word that are even worse in Excel. Excel 2004 screws up the letter spacing of fonts as well as line spacing for wrapped text. Everything is bigger by 10-30%. This doesn't seem to be a problem at first, especially if you are only entering single words or short strings into individual cells. However, I have dozens of forms that were laid out in Excel X that include wrapped text in merged cells. If I open these documents in Excel 2004, the font spacing is all screwed up, requiring complete readjustment of each form. Even worse, Excel 2004 is not WYSIWYG. The screen layout isn't the same as what gets printed. I find this wholly unacceptable for a major business suite, especially when it worked OK in the previous version. Don't be fooled by Microsoft's promise of bug fixes in their recently released Service Pack 1 for Office 2004. They may have fixed a few bugs but not the major ones I have issues with. Check out the comments by users at Macintouch.com, under Office 2004. As for me, I intend to uninstall Office 2004 if possible and reinstall Office X.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to do., May 31, 2003
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've had this card reader for about two months now, running on a Mac G4 500 Dual processor under system 9.2. No problems. Does it's job well without glitches. Takes both Compact Flash Type 1 and CF type 2 cards, including my IBM microDrive. Download of large digital photo files is considerably faster than with my USB reader. Simple device without a lot of bells and whistles. Does what it's advertised to do at a good price.
