4.0 out of 5 stars Poor Handling on a Quality Knife, June 28, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After some serious thought about my perches I decided to go with the Spyderco Salt 1. This knife was everything I expected after I had researched it. Some of the great features of this knife is the saber grind and the H1 rust proof steel. Some of the things I did not like about it is that you are stuck with the clip position (right hand tip up only. I could go on and on about why this is a good knife and the pros and cons that follow it but I think anybody considering this knife should just watch the nutnfancy video on it. He has already laid out all the specs and information about this wonderful blade.

The only complaint about the seller *in this case it was from Amazon" is that some goofball over there decided it would be a good idea to tape the sides of the box. I collect spydercos and to see tape from the seller on my box is a vary bad idea. Luckily for Amazon and myself I planed to actually use this knife so it's not that big of a deal. But I might not be buying any more knifes from Amazon because when I spend $60+ for a knife I expect it to be handled with care and shipped the way they received it from the factory.

Also the (EDGE-U-Caution) was missing from my box. Every spyderco knife has one and If I had planed to save this knife or add it to my collection it would have been an intent return. How can I trust a company when they handle my knife and remove things from it's box before it is shipped to me.

Before I forget I also wanted to point out that my knife had to been sitting in a high moisture internment before it was shipped. It was so stiff before I added some Rimoil that I could barley deploy it. This is a sign that it had sat in poor conditions for quite some time. Luckily the blade is made with H1 or it might have came with some rust as well.

All in all I am 100% pleased with the knife but am only 50% satisfied with the care of my product from Amazon. I'd suggest Amazon fix these issues before I stop buying items from them. You can trust that if I make another perches from Amazon that is this poorly handled then I will return it and stop doing business with them all together.

Swiss Gear Crevasse 0-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag (Rust/Orange)

Swiss Gear Crevasse 0-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag (Rust/Orange)

With a price tag of $48.88 with free shipping this bag is going to be hard to beat.Although the price tag doesn't mean much when your talking
about something as important as a sleeping bag it's hard to get a product of this caliber with all it's features in this value range. Now I'm not
about to say that this is the best sleeping bag I have ever used and/or tested but let me just say that it is defiantly worth the money. Trust me
when I say that this piece of gear could easily sell for at least $150!

The description on this page doesn't really offer to much information so I will try to fill in some of the left out information as best I can. First off
this bag only comes in orange/rust color. Not that the color really matters but just so your aware of it I thought I would put that down so there is
no confusion. The Swiss Gear Crevasse 0-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag is a half zip up style bag. Basically this means that you can't open up
the bag and lay it flat on the ground. Personally I like this because the added zipper would add wight to the product and might add some unwanted
air circulation into the bag. It also has a foot cut out for "some" circulation when needed. That is one feature that may go over looked when reading
the description on amazon but to any person really interested in this bag you should know that. Also what you didn't read (and trust me when I say
that you will want to know this) there is a closing draw string inside the bag located at the chest area. This makes it even more efficient on 0-25 degree
nights. Locking in body heat is the most impotent aspect of a sleeping bag and this little draw string helps add you in that. The hood is a little big but
still performs well enough so that it's not really an issue, besides it also has a draw sting that helps out with that. Oh and yes this has outside pocket
that can fit a phone but thats really a wast of material and wight as far as I am concerned so I wont talk about that other then letting you know that it's

Well what they didn't tell you is that this bag does not come with an efficient stuff sack.So you will most likely have to buy an after-market one from someplace
else but thats not really a big deal because you can buy one for like $5. However this bag does come with a really nice "storage" sack and it's vary nice but
it's shape and size is just not what most of us are looking for when trying to carry this sleeping bag around. I am glade it came with the bag it did though
because now I have someplace to store it when it's not being used "at least at home".

34 x 88
I am 5'll and it fits perfect but I am sure anybody up to 6 foot would be fine. Keep in mind though that if you are using this as a hiking bag that a new stuff sack
will be needed and this bag is 3 pounds and doesn't "stuff" down vary small so this will most likely be on the outside of your hiking bag. I have a bag that is 6,200 ci
and there is no way it would fit inside my bag while leaving room for my other gear. Outside however leaves me ALL my room!

All in all I think this is a great buy. Sure there are better ones on the market but not at this price range. If your looking for a good sleeping bag and don't want
to spend a whole lot of cash but don't want to sacrifice quality then look no further. This bag will keep you warm in 0 degree nights, cool on not so cold nights
and will not put a big hole in your pocket. I have tested this out on some recent hiking/camping trips and the bag has held it's own. It stayed dray during some
water testings and never failed to keep me warm. Buy it, use it, take care of it and I will see you on the trail!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bag holds it's own!, September 14, 2010

CUSCUS 6200ci Internal Frame Hiking Camp Travel Backpack

From my experience it is hard to find a hiking backpack that has this many features and is under $100.
This bag offers so much that is hard to believe the price range. I have never bought from CUSCUS before
and thought I would give it a shot. Well let me tell I am very pleased with my perches! I can honestly
recommend this pack for anyone going hiking in any season other than winter. It's not that this bag isn't
water resistant because it is but I don't really think winter hiking was the intent of the manufacturer when
designing this backpack. Although if you are worried about water damage to your gear you could always
buy a liner that is waterproof and just line your backpack with a trash bag.

This pack has 3 outer pockets and they are reasonably deep. I didn't messier the pockets but I can tell you
that they are big enough for even a 1 liter water bottle mad of metal to fit in ever on of these pockets without
an issue. All of the zippers have a nice fabric liner that covers them so that they don't get water running on
them. Also there are added adjustable straps on the front face and the shoulder harness for carrying extra
gear and/or your tent and sleeping bag. The main compartment is the entire length of the bag and has an
added entry for it at the bottom. The vary top of the bag where your head will be has one pocket as well that
fits a med kit or other gear vary nicely and has straps for added support. There is one compartment inside the
main but it's not really anything fancy but it does help with organizing. BTW this back can be adjusted to fit
almost anyone. With a removable PVC packing and adjustable EVERYTHING you can be assured that this
back will be a nice fit for you or loved one;

Speedy delivery and low price with quality design and materials makes this pack a great buy. Buy it, use it, and enjoy it.

See you on the trails!

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome knife and a great seller to boot!, September 10, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This blade is GREAT! From the blade to the dang pocket clip this is well worth every dollar and more.
This blade comes with high quality steel (that also comes razor sharp right out of the box) gimping on
the top and a nice layered hole and the end of the handle. The lock-up is vary tight and just encase you
didn't see it in the picture this is a lock-back style knife. As far as the handle goes I am amazed at the
quality of it for this price range, KA-BAR is really doing some nice work with this little baby let me tell ya.
I wont go into all the details of the blade but this is just one hell of a nice knife for the price and I would
recommend this to anyone looking to replace there old EDC (every day carry).

LG Outdoors was my seller for this pup and the offer some great service. Fast shipping and packaged
vary will.

1.0 out of 5 stars Coleman 18" Machete with Sheath, September 7, 2010
I hate it when a company that is known for brining cheap but quality items to there costumers falls flat on it's face. Unfortunately this machete just might be the
one item Coleman may never live down. I bought this item for a vary small task, clearing some small saplings away from my property, and it lasted a whole 3 min
before I had to stop using it. First off I want to point out that I only got this machete for this ONE job. I have actual machetes I take when camping or hiking and if
that is what you are looking for then please don't get this. While using this machete on VARY light work I found out quick that this is not full tang. After a few strikes
with this, part of the handle broke through the cheap plastic handle and cut me. I would also like to add that this comes with almost no factory edge. Now I know that
you can't expect much from something this cheap but I feel like I should at least get something that can handle it's smallest task.

For a little more money I would recommend getting something like a SOG machete. In-fact Amazon has one for sell thats about $25 and it's actually a well made product.
Heck, it even comes with a sheath! And speaking of sheaths I forgot to say that the sheath on the Coleman's machete is so crappy that I am surprised it's even considered
one. There is no support on it and it's paper thin. Honest to god people just save your money and buy something else.
