4.0 out of 5 stars Cute puns and great drawings for each type of nut, July 11, 2014
This review is from: Nuts (Toy)
Subtle 3rd grade innuendo on most cards which appeals to every player we've played this with, ages 15-60.
It's a simple currency collection game where you gain or steal different kinds of nuts from other players up to a specific total. But other players can protect against your thieving or cause chaos with cards from their own hand. Cute puns and great drawings for each type of nut.

Very fast, quite simple to learn, and fun if you have a sense of humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites, visually., July 11, 2014
This review is from: Takenoko Board Game (Toy)
Adorable game with a low-moderate level of strategy required. If you're not deep into board games and intense strategy, this game is very fun. It's beautiful and cute (well made, painted, and also cute) so it will appeal to many who don't usually get into these sorts of games.

The rules are easy enough to remember and there aren't a ton of rules or moves to recall, but it is fun and satisfying to play even if you also like deeper, more complex games. It got people we don't normally get to game with interested in playing, and that was the goal: the games we play matter less than the time spent goofing around with those friends!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not super for tomatoes, but still very good for others., July 11, 2014

A little too narrow for most tomato plants or bushier plant species, but it works fabulously for many others that grow more in a column shape. Very sturdy once stuck into the ground and easy to add another tier as needed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strong pigment, strong scent., July 10, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Very intensely violet pigmented shampoo. Be careful how long you let it sit! If your hair is very pale, you'll go purple quickly, but it does a great job vs yellow and a good job vs orange-gold. It works faster than "Shimmer lights" and the scent is more unisex than Shimmer lights.

Scent: STRONG perfume, similar to that found in men's deodorant. I would have given it 5 stars were it not for the strong perfume.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hight quality lightweight conditioning, and subtle toning., July 10, 2014
Though the color appears faint, the violet does color your hair. It is not as strong as the shampoo, but it will tint your pale spots violet if you leave it on long enough. I apply it to dry hair focused on the brassy sections and deep condition for 10+ minutes.

It is not a great stand alone conditioner, but a very lightweight one very suitable for baby fine or oily hair. I use is as a conditioner-only wash and it leaves my over processed hair very clean, sleek, shiny, and very easy to comb out, but also fluffy (not what you want if your hair is curly). I would use a heavier conditioner after toning if you need more control.

The violet is decent vs pale yellows in the hair, and is lightly corrective of orange-gold hues, but do not expect it to correct as deeply as the shampoo does.

The scent is light, sweet, and clean. A scent suitable for the perfume intolerant, or guys who don't want to smell like an elderly lady. It's got only a fraction of the perfume found in Shimmer Lights (thank goodness).

4.0 out of 5 stars Truly is plum purple, thick and soft underfoot., July 9, 2014
I ordered 2 of the purple rugs (runners). Wow, they're heavy and thick and feel nice underfoot. Unfortunately, one of the two was stored improperly and stank of musty wood palates. Amazon is replacing it and it wasn't too hard to get it back into the plastic bag it was mailed in. The color on my monitor is very much the color of the rugs I got: a slightly reddish purple. Not exactly what I was hoping for from the reviews, but I like the color more than enough to keep them.

I would give them 5 stars if they had some kind of grippy backing, but they're so heavy they hardly move even without it, and a 5x7 "grippy" rug pad is inexpensive and is enough for 2 rugs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not life size, but still nice., July 8, 2014

This 6 foot tardis (not life sized) looks best without the stand in the back. 3M removable velcro hangers work very well for this standee, and are much easier to position than wall hooks or double sticky materials. I used 6 hangers to get it to lay nice and snug against a wall and everyone loves it.

The actual prop tardis this standee is imitating is much taller (approaching 9 feet). David Tennant is 6'1" and only reaches the middle of the window panes. If you're looking for a proper-scale prop to use for photos, this one is too small.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as discontinued oil bleaches, July 8, 2014
I just needed a quick all-over lighening to remove some demi-permanent color that developed too dark to blend easily with my regrowth. My old trusted brand of oil bleach is no longer sold, so this is a close 2nd place behind it.

You can use 1, 2, or 3 packets of the chalky bleach activator depending on how much your hair can take. Mine was a little damaged on the ends from 10 minutes and 1 packet, but the roots barely lifted at all (the demi dye is still there, virgin ash-blonde is still there too). But, it blends better, which is really all I needed. The ends feel much better after a protein conditioner + an argan oil soak.

Most oil bleaches I have tried worked fastest (5 minutes to go yellow) on my virgin regrowth, but this box/brand needs a little more time on dark blond and probably quite a lot more time on brunette or black hair. Watch it like a hawk!

5.0 out of 5 stars Clean and silky, not sticky and dirty., July 8, 2014
Clean feeling, never sticky, and it absorbs into skin and hair beautifully.

I use several droppers full on dry hair after coloring it to rehydrate my baby fine strands. I leave it on for a few hours (sleep on it, even) and it never feels itchy, sticky, heavy or dirty. Unlike coconut, almond, avocado, and olive oils I have tried in the same method, it just feels slippery and clean. Any leftover on your skin absorbs quickly leaving a matte silky patch of skin behind and no rub off.

I use a single drop rubbed over my palms when I am actually styling the hair and it adds shine and tames fly aways as well or better than the silicone "shine" sprays without the dehydration those cause.

Scent is a very faint sweet roasted nut smell (the oil comes from a nut, so that's no too surprising).

5.0 out of 5 stars Be sure this is the product you need, July 7, 2014
Works, if you follow directions and are using it properly (you have the right kind of dye in your hair it can remove).

1) It will not work properly on purely deposit-only colors like manic panic, smash, etc. These are not "oxidative" dyes, so there is nothing for the colorfix chemicals to break down.

2) It will not work properly on henna (real actual henna): henna is oxidative, and it may appear lighter for 24 hours, but it will re-darken as it re-exposes to oxygen in the next few days.

3) It cannot add your virgin pigment back to your hair. If your hair dye contained any peroxide (even volume 5 or 10), your natural pigments have been lifted and washed away. All oxidative dyes contain peroxide, so it took some of your natural pigment with it, even if you went darker. Your new colorfixed color may be lighter than your virgin roots or regrowth.

4) If you do not rinse enough, the next hair color you use that contains any peroxide will reactivate whatever dye pieces you failed to rinse out. Take the "rinse for 5 minutes" step seriously! If you are going to dye over the colorfixed hair, do a strand test with the Part #3 to make sure you got enough dye out. It will show you any dye you left in the hair. If it darkens too much, reapply from step 1 and rinse-rinse-rinse!

5) The chemicals in Colorfix do damage your hair a little since it changes the acidity of your hair: if your ends feel stretchy when you finish, you can fix this by rinsing in a mild vinegar wash (1 part vinegar, 2 parts water). The mild acid in the vinegar rinse will neutralize the too-basic pH from Colorfix. Your ends should feel much stronger, instantly.

I have used this and several other similar products and they all work similarly. Colorfix seemed to be somewhat less stinky than ColorOops, but the results are similar. It lifts demi-permanent dye on virgin growth almost instantly, and most of the rest over 20 minutes. I have used it on very dark brown-black dye and it worked well, but the hair absolutely needed a re-dye to get a color I actually wanted in my hair (my hair color was orange under the black dye).
