Live at Brixton
Live at Brixton

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent live album, May 16, 2013

This review is from: Live at Brixton (Audio CD)
I saw them play The Fillmore in San Francisco a few months before the Brixton show that has been recorded for this album, and I can tell you that this album perfectly recreates their raw, live sound without adding vocal or instrument overdubs or studio wizardry, which makes it a rare product in this day and age. No production, just a soundboard recording of the gig. The set list is a great mix of the first two albums, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey and Sweet Sour, and while I recommend owning both of those, as they are fantastic, this 2-CD live album provides a pretty solid overview of the material on those albums. Definitely recommended, especially since this is a limited edition set, and the price of the album will only go up as availability dwindles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent overview of Byron-era Heep, February 7, 2012

You'd be hard-pressed to find anything missing. Great band, great sound, their best material, chronologically arranged and beautifully mastered. The best compilation available of this truly original band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 5-star EP, December 19, 2011
This review is from: Sacred Fire (Audio CD)
Great great album! The sound and production (produced by Rancid's Tim Armstrong) are clean and crisp, the backing band sounds tight and organic and Jimmy is in fantastic vocal form. The song selection is great, not a weak song in the bunch. They all have beautiful melodies and catchy choruses. The covers of Dylan's A Hard Rain and the Clash's Guns of Brixton are the best cover versions of those two tunes that I've ever heard. I've been playing this EP constantly since I got it and cannot wait for Jimmy's next full-length album. If you are a fan of Rancid, the Clash, Bob Dylan, Desmond Dekker, old-school reggae and ska, then this is for you. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing story!, May 25, 2008

Eliade's story is breathtaking, with a deep hidden message, a story that works on so many levels. Read it and you shall not regret it. The movie, while good is confusing and misses the main point of the story.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is indeed pseudo-science, January 23, 2007
This review is from: Tertium Organum (Paperback)
I agree with the previous review. The math is faulty, the philosophy the same. Ouspensky is a hack. This book is a mere curiosity, nothing more! Reader beware: The Fellowship of Friends, an international cult uses Ouspenskian philosophy as its centerpiece!
