5.0 out of 5 stars "Angel Park" by Patricia Kokinos, November 12, 2007
This review is from: Angel Park: A Novel (Paperback)
"Angel Park" is one of the most refreshing works that I have read in a long time. Kokinos's well crafted discourse sends the reader deep into the battles of education. The struggles, bureaucracy, disappointments, complications, misunderstandings, tragedies, unexpected circumstances and the assortment of personalities encountered, provide a perspective to which everyone can relate to, no matter what their work place is. Kokinos's flowing prose propels readers through this fast paced novel. Her rich descriptions of Cornwall and the people who live there furnish layers of texture surrounding the life of educator Constance Demetrios. While a work of fiction, Kokinos draws upon her vast educational experience to bring this novel and it's characters to life. The humor, wit and insight that Kokinos instills within her characters draw us deeper into each chapter as we are reminded of similar characters within our own life experiences. "Angel Park" is a book for everyone. It speaks to each of us personally and at the same time provides a deeper understanding into the world of the educational system and the future of our children. Congratulations to an outstanding and upcoming new author, Patricia Kokinos!
