Great book for all of us who are puzzled by the question "why doesn't our money spent on schools improve the product?" The answer may well surprise and sadden you. All parents should read it .... so should our teachers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Achingly bittersweet .. it will touch your heart and not let go., July 14, 2014
It might be the finest acting performance ever of an under 25 year old actor. Painfully honest and poignantly bittersweet, Blue is the Warmest Color makes you feel as few movies do. Within a few frames, you are pulled into this girl's life, and, without violence, without crisis, your soul becomes enmeshed in her story. You root and hope, all the while recognizing the inevitable loss Adele will suffer. It is worth every minute, although you barely need to give it 15 minutes to know that you are seeing something truly special. Watch it and be amazed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read on the Topic, June 4, 2013
The story is so bittersweet as to be painful. The book is terrific. It carefully focuses on the Comanche tribe and their swift rise and fall in a way that is both engaging and colorful. By the book's end, you know the history, depth, and tragic ending of the Comanche moon. A must read for any history fan with a touch of romance in their heart.

1.0 out of 5 stars Potentially good topic drearily delivered, November 14, 2012
This book was painfully obtuse, uninformative, and, sadly, historically dubious. The topic is unique and interesting (after all, who would abandon the Popeship once it was granted to you?), but the book was so sophmorically written (i.e. "Can you imagine the feeling...") that it left the well versed reader perceiving they were reading a high school essay. Finally, the history is almost fanciful in its descriptions, a fact which, I believe, caused almost no one of moment to validate it. Sorry. Don't read it. It might lead you astray at some dinner party.

This review is from: The Way (DVD)
Give yourself two hours, a box of Kleenex, and enjoy this movie ONLY with others willing to watch and learn and grow. Perhaps the best independent movie of the past few years, The Way will break your heart and elevate your soul. In a movie without sex or violence, your spirit will be pulled and replenished in ways that only a meaningful movie can do. When it is over, you will be exhausted. And shortly thereafter you will want to go back. Your soul will want to have the experiences of the actors in the movie, and that it a good thing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother or hope, June 3, 2012

"I'm Off Then" should be taken off anyone's reading list. It is flat, uninspired, and self indulgent. Any comparison to Bryson is insulting to Bryson. There was no history provided on a historical hike. Don't waste you time or money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly easy enlightenment, May 28, 2007

The book is blessedly light, genuine and remarkably connected to the worlds of Tolkien's Catholic philosophy and the beloved Lord of the Rings. For those who were captivated and enthralled by the world into which we once stepped via LOTR, this text provides an insightful path as to why such a deep and spiritual connection was possible to a world beyond our own. Tolkien's LOTR was THE book of the 20th century, critics be damned, and Kreeft's book gives us an even deeper understanding of the themes in it and in our own lives.
