The Battle for Investment Survival: Complete and Unabridged
The Battle for Investment Survival: Complete and Unabridged
Price: $0.99

5.0 out of 5 stars A trend following classic !!!, September 2, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
You simply can't beat the writer's style of simplifying trading. I would recommend this as one of the first 5 trading/investing books someone should read. I judge a book by a simple measure, is it worth reading twice? Yes is the answer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely thorough marketing book that is very timely and interesting, August 28, 2015

I've had to buy a few marketing textbooks for college and most of them give too many examples of marketing campaigns and not enough thoroughly researched ideas. Yes, this book is dense and yes, it is not a book you can sit down and read in one sitting. It's chocked full of marketing ideas and I find it funny that people this book boring. Boring? it's a marketing book for college! It wasn't written to be entertaining but it will teach you a lot.

The Traders
The Traders
by Sonny Kleinfield
Edition: Paperback
44 used & new from $0.01

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting look behind the curtain but I struggled to find a lot of value, August 28, 2015
This review is from: The Traders (Paperback)
This book really is a great view into the lives a few traders but I felt it lacked enough trading tips to make it worth a lot of your time. Thankfully it is only a 200 page book so it's fast read and an entertaining read. Sadly, a lot of the stories are about traders who work in the pits but the pits are no longer. This is part of problem of this book, it's more history than valuable for current trading. Sorry to sound negative but it's an entertaining trading book but not much more.

Trend Following: How Great Traders Make Millions in Up or Down Markets (Financial Times Prentice Hall Books)
by Michael Covel
Edition: Hardcover
85 used & new from $0.40

5.0 out of 5 stars Great overall system that does answer some questions but leaves many behind, August 25, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great book, incredible author, and very readable study into an effective trading technique. I do feel that the book is a tease for bigger and better things though. I've read this book twice, once over 10 years ago. The book is just as relevant today as then. I started listening to Covel's podcasts too and they are even better than the book. In summary, a must read.

The Answers: The TradingMarkets.com Trading Advisor
The Answers: The TradingMarkets.com Trading Advisor
by Eddie Kwong
Edition: Hardcover
20 used & new from $0.30

3.0 out of 5 stars I liked the format ( Q & A) but there are so many better trading books out there, August 18, 2015
I liked a lot of things about this book, especially the Q & A format. However, I'm torn on the long term value of the insights and this book seems to be a collection of mediocre tidbits than a deep dive into trading. Pick it up used for a good price but make sure you check out the 10s of other great trading books first.

How I Made $2,000,000 In The Stock Market
How I Made $2,000,000 In The Stock Market
by Nicholas Darvas
Edition: Paperback
124 used & new from $0.01

3.0 out of 5 stars Great trader, great fundamental ideas, but this book has too much fluff, August 15, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Not only is it old, this book has way too much personal stories and useless info to really focus on the trading principles that allowed Darvas to grow his capital to $2 mil. There are much better books that describe Darvas' ideas and techniques than Darvas himself. This book is considered a classic and it's an easy read but I doubt you will walk away from this book with many actionable ideas. But read it, it's only 200 pages and it is a must read in the trading circles.

Lessons from the Greatest Stock Traders of All Time
Lessons from the Greatest Stock Traders of All Time
by John Boik
Edition: Paperback
Price: $15.94
54 used & new from $4.55

5.0 out of 5 stars A short and powerful book that ties in all the best stock trading tips, August 13, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The author did a great job of staying on point, showing the similarities and the differences between 5 of the best traders known to the public. I like how the author picked traders from different eras and as Livermore said " what happened before will happen again and again". That is the beautiful part about the stock market, it provides traders an opportunity to use human nature and markets to make a huge living. As the author states the basic trading styles of each you realize how similar they are and the main thesis are basically the same. A very good book to help remind the trader of great principles and if you are just starting to trade, you can't go wrong with this one.

Intermarket Analysis: Profiting from Global Market Relationships (Wiley Trading)
Intermarket Analysis: Profiting from Global Market Relationships (Wiley Trading)
by John J. Murphy
Edition: Hardcover
27 used & new from $63.15

3.0 out of 5 stars I expected more but it was just ok. Lots of historical correlations but rarely does Murphy commit, August 9, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I understand that there is never a perfect correlation all the time so this book basically has two functions. 1) This is a book that explains some of the major market events over the last 40 years. 2) Murphy explains what the correlations were at the time. So, after reading this book and diving a bit into his analysis he explains that there is no reason to believe the correlation will occur again. There you have it, the book is a historical collection with a few nuggets of wisdom of what could happen. Is is worth you time reading and buying, well... I'm not sure so that is why the 3 stars only. In summary, don't expect anything life changing in this book.

The Trading Rule That Can Make You Rich
The Trading Rule That Can Make You Rich
by Edward D. Dobson
Edition: Hardcover
28 used & new from $5.36

4.0 out of 5 stars Ok, it's hard to justify you buying this book for $50 but for $5, come on....., August 6, 2015
I bought this book years ago and I can't remember what I paid . It's a simple book with one idea BUT that idea can make or lose a ton a money. So, what's $50 in the big picture? Nothing ! But if you bought this book for $5 than you have a good deal. Don't expect much in regards to the quality of the book but the idea is valid and can make a lot of money.

Exceptional Trading
Exceptional Trading
by Ruth Barrons Roosevelt
Edition: Hardcover
23 used & new from $4.23

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a good one but a bit fluffy in some areas, August 5, 2015
This review is from: Exceptional Trading (Hardcover)
Ms. Roosevelt is a great writer and trader and this book, along with her other work in the trading field, is a true asset to the profession. I enjoyed this book but it does contain a lot of fluff. Thankfully, the pearls of wisdom more than make up for the lack of depth. I would suggest this book to any trader trying to improve the mind game of trading.
