4.0 out of 5 stars Lush Art From Gene Colon, August 27, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I really enjoyed this look back at the Black Widow's early adventures. I'm not expecting "adult" stories when I pick up a collection of vintage stories and so I found them to be a fun ride. The highlight of this collection is the artwork by Gene Colon. Lots of feathered lines make this a treat to look at. The only improvement would be to see the artwork in black and white. If you like the Black Widow character this is a nice book to have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mostly a Marston Biography, August 27, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is a scholarly look at the history and origins of the Wonder Woman character created by William Moulton Marston. The book goes quite a bit into Marston's background and the social conditions of the times. I would say that up to page 185 the book is essentially a biography of Marston and his family. There are not that many illustrations and most are black & white snapshots from the Marston family album.

For me to the book gets interesting on page 186 (in 1940) when Marston suggests to DC Comics that they need a female Superman character and in February 1941 he submits the first installment of "Suprema, the Wonder Woman" which was shortly changed to just "Wonder Woman." Pages 190 to 298 cover the history of Wonder Woman roughly to the mid 1970s and updates us along the way about the Marston family.

Pages 299 to 392 are mostly footnotes. Yes, a lot of footnotes.

The most entertaining parts of the book are when they talk directly about the Wonder Woman character and influences or back story that you might not know. There's too much biographical information about Marston and related family members. For comic art fans this is definitely not an art book. There are not that many comic book illustrations and it feels mostly like a text book. There are nuggets here and there that I liked and for that I give it four stars. But this is not really the "Secret History of Wonder Woman" as I would have expected--that's only about 108 pages of the total book. Still if you love this character it's worth reading. For casual fans this is not recommended.

This is the brand I will buy most often for toilet paper. It's soft, not too thin, and won't clog up your toilets. What else is there to say about TP? There's cheaper but you get what you pay for.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Definitive Sorayama, August 24, 2014
If you were to only own one Sorayama book this is it. At 480 pages and 12" x 10" it's easily the biggest, most comprehensive and up-to-date collection produced. Everything Sorayama is here including the sexy robots and cyber-infused pin-up images. The paper quality and reproductions are first class and the binding is sturdy. If you are a Sorayama fan and already have his other books this includes new illustrations not previously printed. This is literally page after page of Sorayama goodness. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and Looks Good, August 24, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I'm loving the look of this chair. The black leather seating and the deep brown wood accents fit perfectly with my computer room set up. It's a giant leap from the rigid dining chair I had been using for far too long. The excellent quality materials make it look like it costs far more than it did. The assembly took me a little while to figure out but I think that might have been my own impatience. Be careful and take your time to examine the diagrams carefully. It's not always easy to tell which way is up and down as you are assembling the arms--otherwise it's fairly easy. All and all I find the chair to be very comfortable with easy height adjustment. I also own a Herman Miller Aeron chair and this one holds its own quite well at a much more affordable price. Looking forward to many hours spent in the chair browsing away on the internet. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Two-In-One Vacuum, August 18, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Versatile vacuum for bare and hardwood floors. The key here is that it is intended for non-carpeted floors. This runs off of a 12V battery which compared to a plugged in Miele is not going to be a full on powerful vacuum. But for for a hardwood floor where the surface is smooth and essentially you are just picking up dust this does a good job. Not having a cord is a great feature. And the ability to detach and use this as a handheld is like getting two vacuums for the price of one. The handheld is good for the couch, counters, and small spaces that you can't easily reach with a long handle. For those hardwood floor rooms this is a great vacuum for the price. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Pitcher With A Few Extra Features, August 3, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is a nice pitcher when you want to add a little flavor to your water. There is a center, vertical cylinder that is in the middle of the pitcher where you can put lemons or other ingredients. The cylinder has holes to allow the flavor of whatever you've put in it to infuse with the water, but also keeps the ingredient from getting bits of pulp or whatever into the water. There are other ways to infuse water but this is easy and convenient. You can also just use it as a plain water pitcher. There is an ice core which can also go into the center cylinder. This would come in to use at a party where you want to keep the pitcher out of the refrigerator but still have chilled water. You of course have to freeze it before using. You can just use ice too. The seal on the pitcher is very nice. You push the green button above the handle to open the spout. When you release if seals up pretty tight. It would have been nice if the button was pushed downward rather than forward. This is a nice looking pitcher with features that aren't essential but nice to have. Hope this review helps a little in making your decision.

Bose® SoundLink® Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II - Nylon

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Performer, July 22, 2014
This is a fairly compact yet full sounding speaker system from Bose that does not disappoint. It has a sleek look and provides a solid sound that would work well in a living room or an apartment. I personally don't like seeing racks of audio component boxes stacked with large speakers in a room. I prefer compact and discreet. This does the job and still provides a very good sound. It provides a bolder sound than the Bose mini so if you want a little more volume than this is the one to go with. Hope this review helps a little in making your decision.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice compact audio speaker, July 22, 2014
This little speaker was quite a surprise. It's very compact but still provides a rich and full sound for a room or office. Don't expect the bass to send objects rattling off your work desk, but it will provide more than enough sound for a single room. Wireless sync up is a breeze and this is compact enough to take with you from room to room. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Performer, July 22, 2014
I was able to test this in a big box store and was very impressed. The sound bar and the subwoofer are both very compact considering the sound your get. Even in a large and noise store this was able to create a large presence from music streamed from a mobile phone. Solid bass and vocals made this, at least for music, an excellent performer. For a compact music system that easily syncs via bluetooth this is recommended. I suggest though that everyone compare sound bar systems in person because let's face it, everyone has their own judgement on what qualifies as a good sound. For me this gets a solid four stars. Hope this review helps a little in making your decision.
