5.0 out of 5 stars The First Band of Brothers on the Revolution -- Six Stars, February 7, 2016
This isn't the Revolution we all read in high school history books, but an alive boot-on-the-ground history of the war from the men we did some the hardest fighting in Brooklyn, Trenton, Brandywine, Germantown, Stony Point (they were the Forlorn Hope) assault troops. As Washington's shock troops and elite unit, marched South (one of the few units to fight in both the North and South). O'Donnell's writing and research is brilliant and the disaster at Camden and victory at Cowpens, forgotten race to the Dan are brought to life along with the bloody battle at Guilford. Traitors, Loyalists and the British are brought into fold in an unbiased manner to tell a complete story of the American Revolution.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dog Company, December 2, 2012
It Takes You There.
Dog Company is a master piece of great dialogue from the men who were their, putting you in the foxhole with the smell of death and imminent danger. I was drawn into the book immediately as the author segues from Reagan's speech to a desperate bayonet charge across an open field. It is nonstop action,a literary adrenaline rush.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Well Written........, December 8, 2011
A pleasant surprise, this untold story of a secret mission behind enemy lines has it all. Special ops, close quarter combat, mountain escapes, bands of partisans and a seductive countess.
Mr.O'Donnell well written book compiled from oral history's and verified thru numerous documents result in a work of cinematic proportions.
Howard Chappell (Clint Eastwood) goes in search of Stephen Hall (Steve McQueen).
A great read!!!!!!
