5.0 out of 5 stars Greg Reid has captured the spirit of Napoleon Hill ..., January 25, 2014
As a 45 year student of Napoleon Hill I'd have to say Greg has captured Napoleon Hill's spirit when it comes to the Law of Success. Of course persistence is critical ... but Greg also points out all of Napoleon's other principles ... a definite chief aim ... mastermind ... self-confidence ... accurate thinking ... a pleasing personality ... rising from failure ... all of it. Great stuff! If you're a Think and Grow Rich fan you gotta get it ...

5.0 out of 5 stars A great resource, May 12, 2013
If you're not seeing all the success you want in life chances are you've got some faulty programming, or as Dr. Waldman calls it "stinking Thinking".

This book reviews the 4 schools of psychology and how each plays a role in your results in life.
The more aware you are about why you think and act the way you do... the more you can change for the better.

The book is easy to read and understand. Definitely worth your time and investment.

Outwitting the Devil: The Secret to Freedom and Success
Outwitting the Devil: The Secret to Freedom and Success

5.0 out of 5 stars The Past DOES repeat itself ..., July 16, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It's almost eerie how the timing for the release of this book coincides with the economic times when Napoleon Hill wrote "Outwitting the Devil". The general mindset of society today mirrors those of the 1930's. So, as a result, all of what Hill wrote then will resonate with the reader of today.

Is Hill really interviewing the Devil or is it another example similar to how Hill met with his "imaginary council" that he refers to in "Think and Grow Rich"? Does it really matter?

The true value in this book lies in its understanding of what separates the 2% of independent thinkers from the remaining 98% who are "drifters" and allow themselves to accept whatever life offers up. It's in realizing not only what works and what TO DO, but equally important, what doesn't work, and what NOT TO DO on your journey through life.

Hill's assessment of the public school system and organized religions as well as government and certain big business made it impossible for this book to be published without a hailstorm of protests when it was originally written. Hills family and advisers demanded he never release this information during his lifetime for fear of the repercussions. Among other things, he takes them all to task for converting the masses into sheep instead of encouraging them to be independent thinking individuals.

If you have an appreciation for the wisdom of Napoleon Hill and the thousands of hours of research and analysis he did in the arena of success and failure, you will devour this book and read it repeatedly so that the concepts and ideas become a part of your subconscious blueprint for success.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid and Useful ... just like all of Jeffrey's books ..., May 9, 2011
3 Cheers for Jeffrey Gitomer.

Anyone who takes their business career seriously owes a debt of gratitude for this little gem.

In an easy to understand and fun to read style, Jeffrey shows the tools and techniques to truly become a "master" networker.

Not only does he demonstrate the power that accrues to the person who understands the principles to create a huge network of business and social contacts, he provides dozens of practical ideas on exactly HOW to make it happen. Over the past couple of years since I first read this magnificent book, I've employed many of his strategies to grow my business significantly, especially the use of the "3rd party introduction", a technique I rarely seen employed by anyone.

One thing I am sure of ... if you read, study and apply the ideas you'll find throughout this book, your business will soar. Make the investment, you'll never regret it.

Thanks again for writing this book Jeffrey!

The Graduate Course You Never Had

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for every mental health practitioner ..., July 5, 2010
Dr. Waldman's book, "The Graduate Course You Never Had," is written in a straight-forward manner.
His examples are realistic and relevant.

Waldman speaks the truth that most mental health professionals are poor businesspersons; they do not
understand the business side of their business. Maintaining a successful private practice not only demands
good clinical skills but it also requires solid business skills--which Waldman says can be learned.

Many of the ideas discussed in this book could--and should--be applied to just about any business venture.
I found the sections on Necessary Practice Management Concepts, Valuing Your Service, Effective
Marketing Strategies, and Non-Traditional Methods of Producing Income to be especially insightful and
useful. Any mental health practitioner or any young entrepreneur would benefit from closely reviewing
Waldman's book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Only if you're serious about your success, July 21, 2009
OK ... I admit it. I'm a fan of Jeffrey Gitomer's for a long time. I find his books easy to read but challenging to implement.

His updated Sales Bible gets to the heart of success in business.

In a systemized way, Jeffrey covers all aspects of marketing, sales, promotion, presentation, objection handling, information gathering, preparation techniques, humor. He covers it all, and gives specific exercises to practice.

By the time anyone has taken the time to read and study this "bible" they will be completely and totally prepared to sell and market themselves to huge success. This is not a book to be read, it's a book to be studied.

5.0 out of 5 stars The financial solution that's been here all along!, April 14, 2009
What an eye opening book this is. Pamela Yellen has done an outstanding job of demonstrating why mainstream, conventional financial advice has failed most Americans miserably, while the optimal solution has been staring us in the face for generations.

Since starting my own Bank on Yourself plan three years ago, I've been able to finance my businesses growth and recapture the entire cost. I never worry about the stock or real estate markets, and I know my money is safe and its growth is guaranteed. I don't even have to pay current income taxes on the growth or the dividends. What could possibly be better than that?

For those who are genuinely looking for the best way to create your own financial foundation, this book is a must read.
