4.0 out of 5 stars Mary Wickes is new and there is one discrepancy that stands out like a sore thumb, October 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Many of the actors listed are very familiar as they have been featured in other similar books. Mary Wickes is new and there is one discrepancy that stands out like a sore thumb. Mary died in 1995 and it is written, "Mary's funeral was so well attended there was standing room only. Lucille Ball spoke at the service and rallied those in attendance to rise for one last ovation." If I recall, Lucille Ball died in 1989. I wonder who this mystery person was unless it was the ghost of Lucy. An interesting read nonetheless.

3.0 out of 5 stars Clearly Miss Lynch researched every possible detail regarding Ann Blyth ..., August 9, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Clearly Miss Lynch researched every possible detail regarding Ann Blyth and didn't eliminate much. At 350 pages of text most of the chapters discuss a film Ann acted in. A couple including chapter 19 entitled "Our Very Own" describes every detail of the film lasting fourteen pages which caused me to lose interest because I felt it was information overload. A slow read that takes extra time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a good buy!!, July 14, 2015

Cheap material from the zippers to the bag portion. So far the handles have held up but don't expect them to last. Not nearly as sturdy as most other reviewers claim.

5.0 out of 5 stars A highly recommended great read about Ann Rutherford, September 13, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Although this is not your typical biography, it is a story from many conversations and personal experiences with Ann Rutherford. There are not many authors who can interview their subject and then write such an incredible story that keeps the reader hooked until the very end. A superb read about a classy lady like Ann Rutherford and how brilliant Phillip Done was able to create such a magnificent book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read of a very talented lady who refused to retire., February 13, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
An incredible read of Ann Sothern. Colin Briggs has spent many years corresponding with Ann by telephone, personal letters and even visiting her at her home or attending a performace she appeared in. Ann once said, "Colin knows more about me than I do." This is due to the fact that Briggs has spent many hours interviewing her and being a good friend to Ann. A quick and easy read with lots of great pictures to keep the reader entertained by Ann Sothern. Highly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars A cobweb of clutter, February 10, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Wow...what a mish-mash of unorgainzed story segments thrown together causing confusion as I muddled through an uninteresting read of Henry Fonda. Throw in the accounts of his two children Jane and Peter with their absurd behaviors does not aid in the quality of the subject. A definite cobweb of clutter that never untangled itsself left me very disappointed. I read the other reivews of such high praise and wonder if we read the same book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dahhling.........., January 20, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Tallulah's frequent term of endearment when she couldn't remember someones name. What a better account of a person's life by the actual person rathen than having an outsider try to pen a tale yarn? There are other accounts of Tallulah's life which are less than accurate, have many errors and are very fictitious with details. A great read and highly recommended.

A very clever and interesting tale of the big bad wolf who tries to borrow a cup of flour from his neighbors, but his cold gets the better of him and he enjoys some tastey meals in the process. Recommended to the younger crowd.

4.0 out of 5 stars What's a Wampas Baby Star?, January 20, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Roy Liebman has written short biographical pieces on the actresses selected by the Western Associated Motion Picture Advertosers in Hollywood to introduce the public to its new, junior stars. Although many were already well known by the time of their selection, others were still unknown and only made a few "shorts" or features. Joan Crawford, Joan Blondell, Loretta Young, Gloria Stuart and Ginger Rogers were the "babies" who went on to major success while Lucille Rickson, Adamae Vaughn, Toshia Moria and Iris Stuart had brief careers and are now forgotten. A little disappointed there weren't more pictures of the ladies featured.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great read from Michael G. Ankerich, January 20, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Kudos to Michael G. Ankerich for his amazing research on the fascinating life of Mae Murray. A great read and highly recommended. Ankerich's other books are also worthy of reading because he has interviewed his subjects in great detail and has accurately told their stories. I highly anticipate for the release of his next book.
