5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the last., October 7, 2012
This review is from: Between Two Fires (Hardcover)
I really loved this book and did nearly from the very beginning. Like "Those Across the River," our hero is a haunted veteran, but here occupies a richly rendered 14th century France where innocence and madness are nearly indistinguishable. It is a time when God lived closer to the hearts and minds of men, yet couldn't seem farther away through the horrific threat of the black death.

Buehlman's sophomore release is nearly pitch-perfect in tone, pacing and character, and his monsters were worthy of St John. It's the best thing this year.

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle Edition Full of Errors, May 7, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: E=mc2 (Kindle Edition)
This is not a review of the book itself, but the Kindle edition. It was obviously put together by scanning the original with OCR, & was then not proofread. The errors are numerous, with characters being replaced with something that looks similar. For example, Jupiter's moon "Io" is almost always spelled "10" and the words "he" & "be" are interchangeable. Words are italicized at random & sometimes just half a word is italicized.

I would wait on a second Kindle edition with revisions before purchasing, or get a dead tree copy.
