A bit tempermental but is 4x better than the alternative
, October 7, 2011
It was easy to set up and get started. The main drawback to the device is that I have not gotten to the 1mb/s download speed advertised on the device. At best I've gotten 170-200kb/s. Another note I should make is that once you reach the 2.5 GB data limit your speed will be dropped down substantially. Mine dropped to a whopping 30kb/s.
As for the device itself it looks nice, is about the size of a credit card, and tends to get REALLY hot because there are no ventilation slots or holes. The second night I used it it actually burnt my hand a bit trying to turn the device off.
At the time of this writing I will give it a 4/5 stars. Why? Because even with all these problems it is better than 2-3kb/s dial-up speeds I was stuck using because I live in a rural area. Even when they dropped my speed down I can still watch videos on youtube, download games on Steam, and write a review on Amazon like I'm doing now. So with bit of patience, time and some ice you can enjoy relatively decent high speed.
If anything pick it up at Walmart for the same price. If you don't like it you can take it back.
