Yoga For Beginners: What Every Yoga Beginner Should Know Before Practice (With 21 Pictured Poses)
Price: $0.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Yoga book EVER, April 26, 2015
The author sent me a PDF copy for review

Ashley Leesburg has boiled yoga down to make it easy to understand.

This short primer is better than The Yoga for Dummies or the complex beginning yoga books of Lidia Diamond...and the Gamesboy DS softwear LETS YOGA. This breaks down what you need to know and how to do it. Ashley is a good teacher this way.

It has illustrations and explains it self well. That is all you need to get started. Afetr reading this, dont expect to be a Yoga Master..but you will grasp the basics

Bring your mat and start enjoying yoga the easy way

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit of trepidation, April 21, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I don't mind short stories. I enjoy paranormal fiction. I don't mind Chapter books..However This one cramps it all into 40 pages and almost uncomfortably . This novella , as the author Callie Hartwood calls it, a BBW paranormal bear shape shifter romance"..The author sent me copy wanting an HONEST review..

I can understand the way the author is trying to hit all the markets...the first thing she should do is work on a plot whicjh meshes. This barely devolpes into something that would gain anyone's interest. You can see the True Blood overtones, with bears instead of wolves, with a BBW sookie as main character. If you can buy this novel with bit of trepidation, you may enjoy it. It is a hard sell with its end of days scenerio built in.

It does need a stronger something to move it. The promo state this is book four of the series--I think we all need a primer on book one through three, before we get this novella.

This short story is what I would expect from AMAZING STORIES without the erotica, which seems weak. Elizabeth Black or Cassandre Dayne wrotes short erotica, I think the author should take lessons from them

I hope the author's next project gets better than this short fiction

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fox for all seasons, April 15, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is an adorable children book that seem to be a throwback to classic age Disney nature stories. The author's gentle way of bringing the audience into loving this fox makes a light hearted children's book something to make family's want to savor.

The warm hearted text remined this reviewer of other great Children's text like EB White's The Trumpet of the Swan and Dody Smith's 101 Dalmations. I wondered why they dont write good children's literature like this anymore

I only wish that Disney company could make this book as they use to shoot their animal films (on the Wonderful World Of Disney TV show) , this would be something they would do best.

This book is cute in many spoys and should be read. This is for children of all ages

In may 1981 to may 1983, Dave Sim self published a comic book series about a barbarian Aardvark. This "Conan pastiche" in the hands of Sim became royal satire. These single comics were turned into graphic novels, bound versions of the comics into one of more volumes.

Before someone says, “Pomerantz, why are you reviewing a comic book? This is NOT just a comic book. This is an audio visual expierence.

Note this is not a stop motion comic book, Warner Brothers did with The six hour audio comic of the book The Watchman when the movie came out.

This project is art mixed with narration, music and verbal sound effects. The art does not come alive with motion, it is stilted as the narrator narrates , Just like as you are being read the sunday funnies when you were a kid. This project takes twenty five issues of a comic book onto eight DVDs. ..and all the comics are reprinted in their black and white glory. The DVD transfer of the text is excellent

For the Massive task this audio experiement was, I have mixed feeling about this project. Dave Sim , the original creator of these comics was not the best choice for narrator. His oration is his best I think can can do and those who aren't Cerebus fans can get use to his monotoned , nasally narration. I think this project would have been better with a multi cast radio style production that Jerry Robbins and the Colonial Radio Theater does.Alas if wish were dreams, we would get everything we would want in life

As a comic, I loved the Barbarian Aarvark when I read his comic explorts 35 years ago (Gawd is it that long ago!). As an audio project, unless you are a fan of Cerebus, it is not worth it. I will say this, the 512 page graphic novel can still be read on the DVD screen, it is still great satire.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sex, Lies and ...., April 7, 2015
The author sent me a PDF copy of this book for an honest review. This self published novel lack a good editing job...I say this now and willsay this later

This novel does not foreshadow future events, it bluntly and with malice hits you over the head with its predictable points. This is what bad TV movies are made of. The pace is so repeating itself that you have to cry enough in its slow actions

The plot seem contrived and overwritten with one dimensional ideals, you would see in a bad romance book. The characters are NOT believeable nor do you feel any feeling for them.

When the book changes its focal point in the middle of the novel, Odom showcases that this book can be saved. What Mr Odom need to wade through the begining text to refine this book.I know .there seems to be a good book within somewhere. If this book comes back with a good edit and streamlined-It would make for an interesting novel

It is readable as self published novels are. Ithas all the things you would find in a lifetime movie for TV and half the guityand pleasure

4.0 out of 5 stars Coffee Anyone?, March 28, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
a unique and novel gift. I recieve this product as part of a VIP Power group.

When I got it out of the box, Idid think I had a camera len. From a distance, I thought it was. On closer inspection, it was a nice themos with a screw top lid was good. However it did not have the other warmer lid as shown in the products ad. It is a well made product

It impressed me as a coffee/tea mug. The mug price did seem steep, but it does the job with its novel approach. I think many of my friends who love their camerasand videocam recorders shouldnt read this review..cuz you may know what you may getting for The December Seasonal Holidays

5.0 out of 5 stars Intro to magic, March 26, 2015
I recieved my copy from the author in a PDF file

This book is MAGIC made easy. The author shouldn't said for children..maybe for families

I enjoyed this short book.Steve Black explains the magic trick mechinics in simple langauge. In a few pages that this book is, he covers tricks magicians like Penn & Teller still do today...I just saw the envelope trickon TV and I am still amazed after I know the secret. It is amazing how he presents the trick in details drawing to shows the young man or woman how to do good magic tricks

I this there should be a section n presentations, but it is a good volume for children to enjoy magic.

I would love to see a large volume of magic tricks for children/families soon of this book from author Steve Black

5.0 out of 5 stars Planning for the future, March 19, 2015
I received a copy of this planner from the publisher Tools4Wisdom

I am a writer.I also host three Blog talk radio shows (ANYTHING GOES, Lets Talk co-hosted with Huffington Post Columnist Rachel Thompson, The Legal Show co-hosted with Attorney Sarah Avraham)--I needed and wanted a planner to fit in my busy schedule of shows. However most calendar planners are too small for my needs. This planner isnt. It has enough room for my notes--guest information and my daily schedule

It also has ideas and questions about goals--it fits my life--and its ever changing times..this books fits in my lifestyle. The callendar page spread is large to fit a show listing. I love the tabs--because I have to plan may and look at july for a workshop time..It is everything I could hope for in a planner

The only problem I have is there is not a place for a phone book in it..OTHERWISE its is great

5.0 out of 5 stars WE CAN REBUILD HIM, February 24, 2015
Note I recieved a PDF press copy from Dynamite directly

When I recieved my PDF copy from Dynamite, I herd there was a comic series. This is that comic series bound in book form.. I read this graphic novel with the same joy I savored the series in the late 70's. The magic the five seasons I spent with Steve, Rudy , Oscar and even Jamie were golden. I was in bionic heaven. The DVDs were priceless memories of an era gone by.

The graphic novel update was okay, I assume a original television continuity version would have done the same thing and made it more confusing by throwing away the Bionic TV movies, which does not happen using this graphic novel.

The characters in this graphic novel are drawn and do look like Lee Majors and Richard Anderson., which helps in this EXTRA SEASON of the show. The art is over the top and not too outlandish.. The story line fits the classic action figure Maskatron into the official Six Million Dollar Man original television continuity.

The only problem with this graphic novel and the comic series ended in a cliffhanger, NO six million dollar man ended in a cliffhanger that wasnt ever finished! The Publisher Dynamite need a short graphic novel to wrap this up this story line.. However .It still doesn't take away from the magic and memories this book gave me

Robert B. Parker's Cheap Shot (Spenser)
Robert B. Parker's Cheap Shot (Spenser)
by Ace Atkins

Price: $21.98

5.0 out of 5 stars Atkins' spenser, November 25, 2014
When a book series creator, in this case Spenser author Robert B Parker, dies... you wonder if a series can survive and continue on. A Number of times, an author tries to inherit the mantle of a character series to fail badly in his attempt to stroke lightening in a bottle. You can think of Jeffrey Deaver and his turn at writing James Bond. Sometime the new author cannot get the same vibe as the original author did.

Ace Atkins has fully taken the literary pallium of the Spenser universe and has finally embraced it with this novel. His first two novels were good, but not great. This new Spenser novel, Cheap Shot, seems a throwback to classic Spenser novels with a nod to the future. The white knight that Spenser is , complete with his code of honor and values that Parker established with such books as Promised Land and The Godwulf Manuscript

This novel transfers with ease to spoken word. The one reason that is Random House's use of the audio talents of actor Joe Mantegna. He is the voice of Spenser in more ways than one. Joe brings an intimate knowledge of the Spenser Universe. He has been narrating Spenser audio books for the last 15 years. A fellow reviewer noted to me that Mantegna , who had played Spenser in a few TV movies of the A & E Network, seems to have an inside track into each of the characters...I think she is right! He gives the listeners an edge by knowing and creating vocal patterns and doing it flawlessly.

In this book, Spenser is hired by a quarterback with an extreme temper problem. Suddenly the QB's son is kidnapped, Spenser enlisted Hawk and Zee to help him find this child.
Like Parker before, Atkins blends the city of Boston as a character within the subplots of the main story.

If you get an Spenser novel of audio this year, make it this one.
