5.0 out of 5 stars Great results. Don't sweat the high f4, April 10, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Can't go wrong for the price. Very small and lightweight. Great results. Don't sweat the high f4.5 - f5.6, you probably want the background for your wide shots to be in focus. Also, since you're shooting so wide, speeds like 1/25 or 1/40 will suffice for hand held shots. I just shot an indoor carshow handheld with a 60D, roughly 80-90% of the shots came out crisp and well lit.

My only complaint is that the AF is just a tad slow w/ indoor lighting, but not unbearable. Like I said, great value for such a light and wide lens.

2.0 out of 5 stars Programmable buttons don't work with Macs - fail, December 10, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The mouse is nice to hold and it doesn't seem to skip or anything like that. However, if you're using it with a Mac, only the right, left and middle click buttons will work. I bought this mouse because I also wanted to program the other buttons and change DPI settings. However, on a Mac it just works as a dumb mouse.

I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone working on OS X, none of their products seem to work with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Objective C book, probably not for beginners, August 18, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a fairly comprehensive DIY Objective C book, really covers a lot of beginner and intermediate concepts in just enough detail. Even if the book starts small, it quickly picks up pace and gets into most intermediate topics (inheritance, heap vs stack, structs, memory management, etc). It won't make you an expert OS X or iOS programmer, but it will get you far enough that you can pick up a book that focuses on app development for a certain platform with ease.

I wouldn't start with this book if you've never programmed before, there's just too much to learn before you get into the meat of the material. However, it's a fantastic book for the casual programmers coming from Java, C#, C++ or any older languages, which was my case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thought provoking regardless of your background or perspective, August 18, 2014
As you go deeper in the book, and digest the countless facts and charts, you eventually arrive at the conclusion that inequality is real and very difficult to deal with. You'll get depressed, angry and jealous when you consider the scale of income inequality, effects of inherited wealth and our future prospects. But through all that, Piketty forms a coherent story that he analyzes through history and attacks from multiple angles throughout the book. The analysis isn't perfect, and how can it be? I haven't seen a more recent and complete version of this analysis to date.

One star off for lack of completeness in some areas and lack of brevity, but it's a necessary read nonetheless.

2.0 out of 5 stars Accurate but extremely annoying, August 1, 2014
A mouse, even a "smart mouse", has to have one feature: reliability. Unfortunately, Razer tried to add all sorts of terrible software and plugins to this mouse, making it inconsistent. When everything is logged into and working, it performs well as a mouse, but it's not worth the money. Specifically, three things are very wrong with it:

1) The mouse REQUIRES you to log into Razer with an account (at least 8 letters password) so that it can sync your settings. Why do I need another account for a f'n mouse? It's a mouse, you set it and forget it. If you want to set up your mouse, you have to login.
2) Razer thought it would be cool to add other things like an audio plugin to your OS (I use OS X). This caused my iMovie to crash until I removed the plugin. Once again...it's a mouse, it shouldn't try to take over bits and pieces of your OS.
3) Every now and then razer issues updates which require you to restart your OS for no good reason and relogin, well after you've forgotten your password. I have wasted hours on this process over the years that I've had this mouse.

*** Update 9/23/14 ***
Screw this mouse and screw Razer. I have to LOG INTO MY MOUSE account EVERY TIME I RESTART MY COMPUTER so that I can load my settings. What the hell is wrong with these people? Really? I need an update every time I restart for some reason. Never again with this company. Garbage!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pump, July 20, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This pump is very well put together. The gauge seems to be very accurate (tested with the pump at the bike shop also). I've used it about 5x now to pump two 26" tire regular road bikes to 60-65psi, no complaints at all. The price was very reasonable, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works very well once set up, July 20, 2014
The speaker works very well, initial setup is a little tricky but after that it's smooth sailing. I have it in a brick walled apartment about 25ft away from the router. Never had connection issues, but I did just get a new, more powerful router. The sound is good, especially for a small kitchen. Just the right amount of bass, not too overwhelming. Goes as loud as needed for a small room.

I also like the portability feature, although I'm yet to test the battery life on it. Overall, it's the best AirPlay speaker that you can get for the money, hands down.
