5.0 out of 5 stars Please just buy it., May 8, 2012

If you like this movie, or if you haven't seen this movie, or if you've seen copies of this on DVD somewhere, please just buy this. The DVD releases are just terrible in picture and audio quality, this is so far and above them. The movie is still very grainy, which is a GREAT thing because the DVD was so horribly compressed that the picture comes off as large smudges. Detail is exquisite in this release, and the audio track has gone through similar improvements. Clarity is far greater, louder moments like swords clangs and explosions come off much crisper with no clipping. The original mono track is included as well, which again still sounds better than what was released on DVD.

Honestly, if you've ever thought about seeing this movie you can't do it any other way. If you've never thought about seeing this movie, you're a bloody fool and you'd do right to watch it as soon as possible.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the Game, Disappointed by the PC Release, November 24, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

I held off purchasing this game for PlayStation 3 so that I could enjoy the benefits of the PC version, which were quite numerous when Arkham Asylum was released. The gameplay is much smoother due to the higher framerates and it was the first PhysX game I was able to play, which definitely increased the immersion. I've started playing this title and to my dismay, all of the advanced features I had hoped for are broken. You cannot currently run this title with DirectX 11 features or PhysX enabled as of now, regardless of system setup. System specs below:

i7-950 @ 3.2 GHz
NVIDIA GTX 570 (Overclocked)
6GB DDR3 1600 MHz
OCZ Vertex 2 80 GB SSD

These problems affect both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs and so far as anyone can tell, these are not issues with the drivers but issues with the game itself. Hopefully these issues will be fixed soon in a title update, but seeing as the title was delayed an additional month and no extra work was done on it... all I can say is I expected much more after the stellar experience I had with Arkham Asylum.

tl;dr: Just don't buy this on PC until the game has been patched. The price will drop by then, or you can just grab the already cheaper PS3 or Xbox 360 release.

Edit: I've updated to recently released patch on Games for Windows Live, and can say that some of the DX11 frame rate problems have been alleviated. Frame rate drops are not as vast, however stuttering is still an issue. Still not the performance I expected after the delays or after patching. It is above playable in DX11 however, so I've bumped the rating to 3/5. Hopefully with future patches the stuttering is fixed.

5.0 out of 5 stars If We Have to Have DB in HD, March 9, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the way to do it. This release deserves 5 stars simply for the fact that it ISN'T the planned Dragon Ball Z Remastered Season One Blu-Ray with the horrible Funi transfers. This is Dragon Ball Kai, the Toei Animation retelling of Dragon Ball Z. It uses the original japanese masters and has been remastered and edited down to about 100 episodes, removing all of the annoying filler that detracted from the flow of the story. No more five episode power up sequences, no more driving school, nada. This is the manga, animated. It's also not simply a remaster of original footage, but also a reproduction. Lots of scenes that have been damaged over time have been reanimated, and other scenes have been redrawn completely. Lots of special effects have been improved and really shine on Blu-Ray.

Note: I own the japanese Dragon Ball Kai Blu-Ray releases so my review is based on that. The US release should basically be a copy paste with the Funimation english dub, which I'm excited to have on Kai. :)
