2.0 out of 5 stars GOLDEN LUGGAGE TAG, March 18, 2012
My grandson saw a funny luggage tag I had and wanted one. I looked on Amazon and the prices were all over the place. Finally I saw these tags for somewhat reasonable $5 (think they should be $2 but what do I know). The problem is that the tag is $5 and the shipping is $7.....$12 when you could probably print one and lamanate it at staples......just saying

2.0 out of 5 stars WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT, January 4, 2012
Once, a long time ago, I used Pur filters in a second house we had and it was perfect. Fast forward to today....without thinking I purchased a PUR 3 state filter......horrible. Why? Probably Proctor and Gamble. I guess this is the way of things in America today....if it works well either do something to change that or sub it out to the Chinese, those paragons of great craftsmanship. The strange thing is they were making top dollar compared to the other water filters on the market but hey...this is a different time and place.....do I feel sorry I bought this? Naw......I do feel sorry for the younger people that have to walk a labyrinth of products to find one that works. Support Made In America

2.0 out of 5 stars Vagden Diabetic Sock, December 9, 2011
Being a Prime customer I try to buy only things that Amazon ships. However I need a decent pair of socks and I am a diabetic. These socks are $12 for one pair; might be pricey but what the heck. Then I checked the shipping $10. You do the math and you can find much better deals on here. Just saying..

I can't not really tell you much about these stockings because I ordered the wrong size. I ordered medium instead of large. The medium seemed not to go over my big toe. I am hoping the large will fit. One thing of note, Amazon had everything I needed to buy the other pair completed in less than three minutes. It is a pleasure to shop here with fast delivery and of course the reviews. I have saved much time and grief by following the reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars ZIOTEK 22 SD CARD CASE, October 14, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am very pleased with my case although I do see how the one reviewer had problems with it. She obviously takes many pictures and is in and out of her case a lot. I'd like to point out that this case was very inexpensive and prices for others are costly. The disks were a bit hard to slip in but I like that. I shook the case quite a bit and they stayed. I imagine with a lot of use they may get stretched a bit but the zipper case will hold them in. I used my SD's to store books and some important documents so I want them secure (zipped in I think I would only open it in a secure place, so if a chip fell out it could be easily picked up. While everyone might have different uses....for me this case is perfect.

3.0 out of 5 stars Smith and Wesson Knives, October 2, 2011
I never seem to learn. I bought one S&W pocket knife and was not pleased. What did I do? Bought another one. I always trusted the S&W name but they probably sold the name for overseas manufacturing. You might get one and may have no trouble, but sooner than later something will go wrong. Alternative knives, made in the USA, are more costly but if you really want a knife for use you deem important, than try to find one that won't break your bank. I have a knife that someone gave me 30 years ago and it still hangs in there. It is horrid to look at but made well and that is the difference

3.0 out of 5 stars nice but expensive, August 15, 2011
these seem like a handy solution to my wiring nightmares. My wife just bought mine today. My only problem with this offer is that it is about double the price she paid in Bed, Bath and Beyond and that doesn't count the $2.75 shipping ($11.70). Just saying....great idea, too expensive for this offer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Map updates will cost more than unit, July 28, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought the nuvi 285W less than a year ago and we have used it on a trip once. Now before we take a trip from Atlanta to New Jersey I thought I would update the map and firmware. Tough website....and I was warned off of using the firmware. Then after I got to the information I was given a choice of updating one time for $50 or lifetime for $90. That is 60% of the cost of the machine, which by the way isn't that great. Now this may be my fault but I was under the impression that you received at least one update or possibly more. Turns out that you had only 90 days to ask for a map up date. Now if you bought a new unit with the latest software, why would you need an update 3 months later. This was for my wife but we only use it on long trips. I'm at an age where I just do not want to bother with nickel and dime artists, so I'll give it to a nephew and buy another brand.

2.0 out of 5 stars not worth it at any price, June 30, 2011
Over the years I have purchased more than 25 Dell computers for work and home. Michael Dell had turned the company around. It's in a nose dive again dealing with Dell is a daunting experience. All laptops have some bells and whistles you can buy but when you start personalizing you can easily double the price. I always had warrantees and they always worked. Now I need one for the machine, one for software and one for accidental damage. I am not sure if my firing a 9mm slug from a Glock 19 into my XPS 810 would be considered accidental but I was overwhelmed by 64 bit and Windows 7. I think you would do much, much better shopping right here on Amazon and looking at Toshiba, Asus, Acer, Sony and maybe another brand (other than HP). Oh, anyone want a slightly used XPS810 desktop with almost everything you need to lose your mind.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unknown Functions Survival Pocket Tool, June 16, 2011
I received five of these handy little tools today. They were very inexpensive so I didn't expect them to have all the bells that the more expensive credit card sized tools did but they were OK. I will give these out to my nieces and nephew who will be traveling this summer. Major disappointment; they come with a plastic case and a thin paper card that tells all of the functions. Problem is that it in Chinese, no English anywhere. I can probably figure out most of the functions but it would be nice to include with the ones that are gifts. However, not the end of the world because you can copy the functions from the Amazon site and print them out and include or glue it to the card with the picture of the tool.
So, as an inexpensive gadget for the lighthearted camper or trekker it is pretty good. A Word of Caution: if you are really going to rough it, do not rely on any tool that you haven't checked out or whose quality you haven't considered. Amazon has all levels of camping and survival tools and the site also has one very important asset, the reviews. People are generous with their information. Read and research. (sorry for the length but I've heard horror stories.
