3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea but falls short, March 8, 2006
This review is from: Prime (Full Screen) (DVD)
The plot of this movie is original and sounds good on paper, but the way the movie played out ultimately left me disapointed. The movie stars Meryl Streep as a psychiatrist who is having sessions with Rafi (played by Uma Thurman) who is recently divorced and now dating Streep's son David (played by Bryan Greenberg). There were some funny moments but overall I was disatisfied. Not to knock any of the actors, they were all great in this movie. Especially Streep, who has yet to disapoint. However, between Thurman and Greenberg, I didn't pick up on any chemistry between them, so it was hard for me to invest in the characters together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eclectic, March 4, 2006
This review is from: Z (Audio CD)
I previewed this CD in a music store and I had to buy it right away! The songs are very infectuous and catchy. I listen to the CD all the time. There is no filler, just great songs throughout. I could pick a favorite, but the whole album just flows so nicely. There's a nice mix of electronica in with the rock. There's others songs which boast an alt-country sound. Overall a very eclectic album that is sure to please!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great listen!, March 4, 2006
This review is from: Chill' Em All (Audio CD)
This is an album that really grew on me, and got into my subconscious. It's a nice album to have on in the background, or to just relax to listening. It's hard to explain the sounds, it's just a nice ride. Really good hooks and memorable songs.

3.0 out of 5 stars First disc History...the rest...not quite, March 1, 2006
The first disc of HISTORY is worthwhile. It features 15 of Michael Jackson's biggest hits, including Billie Jean, Rock With You, Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, The Way You Make Me Feel, Black or White, and more. The second disc is a collection of 15 new songs. Unfortunately, it is spotty at best. There are some great songs here. Notably "Scream" (duet with sister Janet Jackson), Stranger In Moscow, They Don't Care About Us, etc. The rest of them fall between being overly sappy (You Are Not Alone, Childhood, HIStory, Smile) to very bitter sounding (Tabloid Junkie, D.S.). Luckily they released disc one on its own, so you can get all the hits, without the waste of a second cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars Probably the last really good season of Dawson's Creek, February 16, 2006
Season 4 of DAWSON'S CREEK begins with Pacey and Joey returning from their summer together on Pacey's boat. Last season they built up the relationship, and it finally happened. This of course left Dawson out, but not for long, as he started a relationship with Pacey's sister Gretchen who came to town with a secret (played by the wonderful Sasha Alexander). I think one of the more interesting characters this season was Jenn, who the viewers finally got to understand a little more as we learned about her past in New York and what happened to her. She entered therapy, and that was probably one of my favorite storylines this season. Jack still came to terms with being gay, and I think they did a great job with this storyline as well. One of the sadder things this season was that we lost Andie! Andie had always been one of my favorite characters. After she dabbled in ecstacy, she decided to move to Italy for a few months. Luckily she came back near the end of the season. Pacey was another character that was well written this season. I enjoyed the Pacey/Joey relationship, and Dawson/Gretchen was sweet too. Unfortunately this was one of the last good seasons of Dawson's Creek. In the next two, the characters hardly have any interaction with each other, as they move onto college.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Will Always Win, February 7, 2006
This is a re-release of Trisha Yearwood's 2005 album JASPER COUNTY, her first album in 4 years. It features a brand new duet with husband Garth Brooks entitled "Love Will Always Win", which was previously recorded by Faith Hill on an import album in 1998/1999. It's a pleasant duet sure to please. The rest of the cd is great. The first single "Georgia Rain" is classic Yearwood, so is the second single "Trying To Love You". Both sported beautiful videos, but "Trying to Love You" failed to catch on at radio, and they gave up on the song in favor of the new duet with Garth. The rest of the songs are a mixture of ballads, uptempos, and more. The ballads are especially nice, like "Try Me" with Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn, "Standing Out In A Crowd", "Gimme The Good Stuff". She does a cover of Anthony Smith's "Who Invented The Wheel", which opens up the cd, and another highlight is "River of You", both which show her tremendous voice and have a bluesy sound. Other songs include the uptempos "It's Alright", "Pistol", and "Baby Don't You Let Go", and the bluesy "Sweet Love". A great cd from one of the best female vocalists in country music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff!, February 3, 2006
This review is from: Nu Cool, Vol. 3 (Audio CD)
This is a title in Hed Kandi which has recently resurfaced with a new compilation in 2006 (which I am dying to hear). This one is currently my favorite out of the Nu Cool series though. It's a really interesting mix of songs, filled with soul and a bit of hip hop. The songs range from dancefloor anthems, to more chilled out soulful songs. Definately showed Hed Kandi's more funky side!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, February 2, 2006
This review is from: Nip/Tuck (Audio CD)
I have to admit, I have never watched NIP/TUCK. I heard this soundtrack at a friend's house and I was transformed. I am really into laid back chillout music, and this is a great CD filled with songs that make you want to just relax and cuddle with someone. The soundtrack was produced by Gabriel & Dresden. Some artists included are Chungking, Syntax, Poloroid, Chris Coco, The Engine Room, and many others. A great soundtrack!

4.0 out of 5 stars Third season, January 24, 2006
The third season of DAWSON'S CREEK was pretty good. It gets better, and near the end it is near perfect. The season was off to a weak start because of a character named Eve, who got involved with Dawson for a few episodes. Andie returns from rehab, to Pacey's delight, until he finds out that she cheated on him. Jack attempted to come to terms with his sexuality, and repairing the relationship with his dad. He fell for Ethan, only to get his heart broken. Dawson and Joey seemed to be on different pages throughout the whole season. First she wanted him back, but he wasn't interested, then he wanted her back, but she wasn't sure if she wanted Pacey or him. The buildup to Pacey and Joey was really good, and made for good drama. Jen fell for a quarterback, and had a rocky relationship with him. There were a lot of great episodes in this season, especially in the last half of the season.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, January 20, 2006
This is my favorite animated series. Too bad it was cancelled. It's a really funny show all in all. It follows the life of Andy French, a 24 year old slacker who aspires to be a cartoonist, who lives in Mission Hill with his friends Posey and Jim. His dorky brother Kevin is forced to move in with him. The show is so funny! The best episodes are when Andy goes on the Real World, the one where Kevin sneaks into the military base to steal a reccomendation letter, when Kevin causes a fire at the convinience store, and more. Only 13 episodes, but they are all great. I wish there was more!
