5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the beach or park., June 26, 2016
Ok I swear I have never seen an item like this before but this is very cool. This is a perfect item to take to the beach, or the park, or maybe out to watch fireworks or a bonfire. Parents with kids should be aware of how these work. Basically just take it out of the bag and it pops right up, fully assembled! Nothing to setup. When setup this tend is 78.7" x 47.3"x 51". large enough for a couple of adults or a few kids to sit inside.

the Nylon material is UV resistant with a UV rating of 50+ UPF to protect you and your family from the sun's harmful rays. and obviously it also provides a measure of shade which is nice to have at the beach. at over 6' in length its long enough to allow an adult to lie down and even take a nap. our dog likes to lie in it outside on sunny days. It comes with 4 stakes to secure it into the ground if it is windy out.

the only real issue is trying to fold it properly to get it back in teh bag. If you have used these types of popup tents or tubes before then you should not have much of a problem. It does take a bit of time but once you figure it out it's a snap. What a smart idea this is!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!, June 26, 2016

This Balaclava is perfectly designed for motorcyle riders to be protective and also comfortable on rides long and short. The piece comes in 2 sizes, s/m and L/XL. I got the L/XL and it fits great on its own and with a helmet. It stretches well to contour to your face. the mouth/nose section in fashioned in a mesh material to allow for better ventilation. I like the fact that it goes all the way down to the bottom of your neck so that when you wear a coat and shirt it leaves no skin exposed for maximum coverage.

The stitching is first rate on the entire piece and while it is stretchy it is also rugged and looks like it will stand up over time. But this item is not just for cyclists. you can wear it for Skiing or snow boarding or just going out to shovel snow in the winter to keep your face protected. Its a quality item with a lot of uses. Some other notable features is that it is anti-bacterial and odor controlling. It's also mashine washable and dries quickly. Great item.

I was provided a sample for my honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gloves at a great price, June 26, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Wow...Never thought I would find decent tactical gloves for such a low price. you can easily pay $50 or more for gloves like this but don't! These gloves from ADiPROD more than fit the bill (and your hands) for a fraction of the cost. These fingerless gloves come in 3 colors and are meticulously crafted. Each finger is studded with a protective leather oval. And the knuckles have a raised, very heavy and durable leather piece. these serve to protect your hands if riding a motor cycle, shooting at the range, or other activities where the hands can be hurt.

The inside of the gloves are covered in a leather mesh which provides yet another layer of protection and also provides superior gripping ability. The stitching all over the gloves is double stitched for incredible quality and toughness to last a long time. a wrap around velcro strap lets you tighten the gloves for the best fit.

This is an incredible item. They are strong, comfortable, durable and look fantastic. And at around $13 these are a fantastic buy! I was provided a sample for my honest review.

Diamond Select Toys Gotham: Edward Nygma Action Figure
Diamond Select Toys Gotham: Edward Nygma Action Figure
Price: $19.49

5.0 out of 5 stars Best figure in the series, June 26, 2016
irst off, these are not just figures with an accessory or two but in usual Diamond Select style the figures come with a diorama setting. All of the figures come on the large blister card with the typical Diamond Select wraparound card with graphics from the TV series.

Last up is Edward Nygma and this is the best figure from series 2 by far! The likeness is just perfect. The coke bottle thick eyeglasses seem to magnify his eyes giving him that nerdy scientist appearance. His lab coat features a finely detailed ID card clipped onto his breast pocket along with a trio of different color pens. He comes with a coffee mug and his diorama features his metal desk from the show. Again a base would have been nice to go along with the desk, however.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking piece, June 26, 2016
irst off, these are not just figures with an accessory or two but in usual Diamond Select style the figures come with a diorama setting. All of the figures come on the large blister card with the typical Diamond Select wraparound card with graphics from the TV series.

Alfred Pennyworth is next up and this is a great mold. The likeness to actor Sean Pertwee is spot on with the expression of both concern and consternation. Alfred’s suit and vest are all painted in the same black color and the only accent is the gold chain of his vest pocket watch. His diorama features a large wall and mantle from Wayne Manor. It’s quite elegant and bold but I wish they had included a part of the floor as a base as the series one figures have.

Diamond Select Toys Gotham: Harvey Bullock Action Figure

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the other figures, June 26, 2016
First off, these are not just figures with an accessory or two but in usual Diamond Select style the figures come with a diorama setting. All of the figures come on the large blister card with the typical Diamond Select wraparound card with graphics from the TV series.

In series 2 we start with Detective Harvey Bullock. The physical likeness to Donal Logue is ok but nothing great. The figure’s face appears too thin to me. On the other hand the mold of his suit is nicely done and gives Bullock that disheveled look that makes him look like he slept in his clothes. He comes with a removable fedora and revolver. Bullock’s diorama is similar to Gordon’s in that he has a sidewalk/alley street scene but his scene doesn’t come with any accessories making it rather dull in comparison. It can however, connect to Gordon’s street scene to make for a larger diorama.

First off, these are not just figures with an accessory or two but in usual Diamond Select style the figures come with a diorama setting. All of the figures come on the large blister card with the typical Diamond Select wraparound card with graphics from the TV series.

The Penguin is the best figure in series 1. Again we have a figure that is 7” tall and features 16 points of articulation. The likeness to actor Robin Lord Taylor is outstanding, from his angular face to his pointed hair on top of his head. Just superb! His black suit is molded in a single color but his vest does feature a nice purple and black checkered design. He comes with an interchangeable set of hands along with an umbrella and a green apple. His diorama is that of the Gotham pier where he faked his death in the first season of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Diorama, June 26, 2016
First off, these are not just figures with an accessory or two but in usual Diamond Select style the figures come with a diorama setting. All of the figures come on the large blister card with the typical Diamond Select wraparound card with graphics from the TV series.

Selina Kyle is also 7” tall which doesn’t make a lot of sense in terms of comparing characters. This is one that maybe should have been 6” just to reflect that she is still a kid. She also has 16 points of articulation. The mold likeness to actress Camren Bicondova is very good. It’s a more detailed figure than Gordon particularly with her leather jacket and the silver zipper and coat buttons. Selina’s diorama features a partial wall with balcony and fire escape ladder. One thing that would have been cool is that if her goggles were not molded but could be removable to put over her eyes. She also comes with a quart of milk, her favorite drink.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice if a little plain., June 26, 2016
First off, these are not just figures with an accessory or two but in usual Diamond Select style the figures come with a diorama setting. All of the figures come on the large blister card with the typical Diamond Select wraparound card with graphics from the TV series.

Detective Jim Gordon is 7” tall and features the show’s protagonist in suit and tie. His diorama features a sidewalk gotham 9and wall scene. It is obviously an alley as evidenced by the two trash cans and crushed cardboard box. Gordon features 16 points of articulation and is armed with a handgun. The mold is good although the likeness to actor Ben Mckenzie is only average. There is nice detail to Gordon’s outfit although there isn’t a great deal of detail to the paint. The only area where paint provides multi-color detail is on the face. The figure has 16 points of articulation.

The Art of Horror: An Illustrated History
The Art of Horror: An Illustrated History
by Stephen Jones
Edition: Hardcover
Price: $26.70
97 used & new from $14.59

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Book for Horror Fans, June 26, 2016
The Art of Horror is an amazing tome that looks at the history of horror art from many unique perspectives. Featuring a foreword by Neil Gaiman, the book is edited by renowned horror editor, Stephen Jones. Jones has assembled a star-studded lineup of horror writers and historians to produce the book’s various chapters. These include David. J. Skal, Gregory William Mank, Kim Newman, Lisa Morton, Bob Eggleton, Robert Weinberg, and H.P. Lovecraft expert S.T. Joshi.horror

Skal kicks things off with his look at the art of vampires and Dracula in particular, in pop culture. These include a look at some of the early book covers and interior illustrations from the Bram Stoker classic. But the chapter isn’t limited to the King of Vampires. Skal includes a look and discussion of the various versions of Richard Matheson’s “I am legend” including poster art of the 1960s Vincent Price version and the 1970s take “The Omega Man” starring Charlton Heston. Included are many rare covers and posters of foreign versions of vampire films like “The House that Dripped Blood.”

Jamie Russell covers one of the most popular modern horror genres, zombies! While perhaps considered a more modern monster, zombies date back to the earliest days of film with entries like White Zombie, The Mad Ghoul, and I Walked with a Zombie. Russell also features some outstanding examples of art from lurid pulps of the 1930s and 1940s right up through the comic book art of Bernie Wrightson and The Walking Dead’s Charlie Aldard.horror 4

Frankenstein expert Gregory William Mank covers man-made monsters like Mary Shelley’s gothic creation featuring art from many different versions of the book as well as dozens of poster art from the Universal Studio’s films. Halloween historian Lisa Morton examines the art of every horror fan’s favorite holiday from early 20th century postcards to art inspired by Day of the Dead celebrations, and to films like “Halloween.”

As you might expect, S.T. Joshi’s chapter focuses on H.P. Lovecraft and the cyclopean horrors he created throughout his career. Naturally there are covers from pulp magazines like Weird Tales and Arkham House editions of his books as well as more recent art from things like Fantasy Flight games, and poster from films based on Lovecraft’s work such as “The Haunted Palace”, “Re-Animator”, and “The Dunwich Horror.”

Other chapters cover Werewolves, mad scientists, giant monsters, and aliens. In addition to the incredible group of writers, the book features art by scores of talented artists including: Margaret Brundage, Virgil Finlay, Frank Kelly Freas, Basil Gogos, Michael Whalen, Brom, Stephen Fabian, H.R. Giger, Alan Lee, Dave McKean, Clive Barker, Mike Mignola, Frank R. Paul, and Bernie Wrightson.horror 2

The Art of Horror has appeal to fans of horror films, comics, literature, and pulp magazines. Jones did a superb job of bringing together some of the foremost authorities on horror and matching them to their particular specialties. This is a book that any horror connoisseur will want to add to their personal library.
