3.0 out of 5 stars works ok but the build feels off, December 21, 2011
its a good unit but the price is a bit rough to swallow (even though its fair)
my unit seems to work well 95% of the time but the other 5% it either fails to fire or its exposure drifts.
the build feels weak specifically the cord.
a note before you order this unit, it requires an adapter ring to mount to your lens so make sure you get the right 1

3.0 out of 5 stars GIMP is good, December 21, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
the book is a must have if GIMP is part of your work flow
I really think they need to come back and update the book to stay inline with the newer versions of GIMP
the how-to(s) are well thought out and progress in a natural way while covering a broad spectrum of edits

5.0 out of 5 stars great pro level product, December 21, 2011
this is a great pro level body.
the chassis weather proofing is a good place to start. it feel solid in the hand and the controls are firm and well placed. its dual digic 4 processors are more than fast enough for sports even at modest ISO settings. the sensor while only APS-C is super sensitive but easy on noise.
all i can say is if your invested into canon gear than this is a great body to move up to. if you thinking about moving to canon again this is a great place to start
image quality is top notch (for its sensor size) even across its wide ISO range 3200 is actually useable.
battery life is amazing
i can go on and on but pick this unit up and you'll know that im understating the qualities of this rig

4.0 out of 5 stars easy macro shots on the cheap, December 6, 2011
this unit makes shooting incredible macros easy and inexpensive. just thread it on to your lens and then fit it to your camera body and your ready to explore the microscopic world of macro photography. depending on the glass you par this unit with it reverses your object to image magnification ratio.

5.0 out of 5 stars great constant LED ring light, December 6, 2011
My first thoughts taking this out of the box was this thing is large. It has some impressive dimensions.
After using the LED352A for some macros and portraits I have to say this is a very nice unit it. And after doing a video interview with it I have to say this a great product.
Yes its somewhat large and makes hand holding a bit tiring its more that worth having in your lighting kit for studio portraits, macro shoots and HD-SLR based interviews.
It provides smooth even lighting across your subjects and in portraits you'll find pleasant catch lights. The AC power brick means you'll have consistent output while the LEDs don't experience color shift.

5.0 out of 5 stars fun TLR lomo kit, December 6, 2011
I picked up this DIY lomo TLR a few weeks ago.
Assembly was a pleasant after supper distraction with clean cut parts and decent instructions full of diagrams.
The unit is compact and lightweight with easy operation. Its great for starting conversations on street corners and at events. The first couple rolls came out with a soft dreamy finish due to the plastic optics. I've had a lot of fun rediscovering lomo photography, its been reminiscent of vintage Dianas and Holgas but with that fun TLR operation that leads to some different perspectives and dynamic shots. Its really grown on me and i cant state how much fun it is
