5.0 out of 5 stars Lifesaver for Coating Failure on Glasses Lenses, August 14, 2015
This was a lifesaver (and money saver) when the anti-glare coating on my glasses lenses went completely bad. It had gotten to the point where I could not see out of one lens, and I was not covered for new lenses for another couple weeks, yet I had an important life-changing event coming up that I needed to see clearly! Every eyeglass place I called said the coating can't be removed (really? then why is it coming off on its own...!?)

I tried soaking the lenses with isopropyl alcohol for awhile then scraping and rubbing off, but that did little to nothing other than scratch the lenses. I tried soaking with Windex overnight and then rubbing, and that actually worked little by little, but was making it much worse before it was going to get better.

Armour Etch came to the rescue. I carefully coated the lens with this stuff, using a Q-Tip, avoiding the plastic frames, let sit for 5 mins, and thoroughly rinsed. Most came off, so I did another treatment. In the areas where the lens coating was still fine, the coating came completely off, without any apparent damage to the lens. In the bad areas where the coating was completely "crazzled" from coating failure and repeated attempts at removal, a faint "crazzled" layer can still be seen, but the lenses are much more usable again, and I don't notice it unless they catch the light. Two weeks later and no further effects from the treatment.

Be sure to wear gloves and perhaps a respirator and eye-protection, as this is strong stuff. I think the vapors of the stuff even do something, because at the boundary of the areas I coated, you can see the lens coating become hazy for another couple millimeters outward.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless, warped suction cups that don't stick - will just fall onto your adorable child, July 23, 2015
Remember those clear suction cups that you used to hang ornaments and things from your kitchen window? The ones that stuck for eternity and never fell off? That gave a definitive POP! when you pulled them off? This product could certainly use some of those!

The suction cups on these shades are completely worthless. They are permanently warped, off kilter, creased, and flimsy, and don't make full contact with the window, and so they almost immediately fall off. On some of them, the edges curl backwards and thus don't make contact, and so they stick for 1 minute then fall on your adorable child. I can't predict the physical or emotional trauma from that, but who wants to risk it...

Unless this product is fixed, it is not worth anyone's time, effort or the resources necessary to manufacture and ship them - and then on top of that to waste the customer's time to have to return them. I contacted the company to ask if this is a widespread issue as indicated by the negative reviews, and they asked for a second chance and send me 2 new screens, and...the suction cups on the ones they sent are even worse than on the first 2 I bought! As with the others, they are curled up on one side and down on the other, contort even more when pressed to a window, and are simply never going to stick. A suggestion: if you are going to send replacements for items that have an issue, and try to win back a customer, make sure the replacement products actually work and don't have the exact same issue!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works for me, May 18, 2015
So far, over 2 weeks, I've caught 2 northeastern yellowjackets (I believe) in the top, and 4 in the base, using the included bait liquids. No more stray ones are flying around the area, as they previously were.

4.0 out of 5 stars Generally Works Well, Lacks Some Options, March 5, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Works well with a basic 2-wire, steam boiler system, and has a nice display and buttons. But it appeared to have a long lag to register temperature changes, and doesn't have certain customization options such as temperature swing. These factors resulted in larger high/low temperature swings that I did not experience with my previous Lux, so I exchanged this for the Lux TX500Uc, which is about the same price but has a couple additional customization options, and seems to more quickly register and display the actual temperature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great respirator for DIY projects, July 6, 2014
Excellent respirator for DIY home projects and tasks. Works great for wood staining / poly projects. If the mask is on properly you won't smell a thing (so be sure the room is properly ventilated because you won't realize how bad it smells until you take off the mask). This size M works great for my average size face, even with glasses - sometimes a bit of a pinch on the top of the nose after a few hours, but can be adjusted on the face to avoid this, and otherwise comfortable and unobtrusive.

Instructions and sheets that come with the mask and filters are complicated and detailed. While I understand they need to discuss and warn about harmful substances, a simplified version for the home user would be appreciated, such as with a clear chart showing what filters to use for which uses.

Be sure to remove the 2nd set of particulate filter pads from inside the housings before use, and close them back up until the clear holders snap into place (they won't quite close all the way when the back up set is in there too.)

You can get other filters (and replacement filters) to attach to the mask for other uses, such as the pink round filters for just particulates, which can be used for dusty sanding and cleaning projects.

And you'll get to feel like the Heisenberg of home repair as you work!

Greenfield KGHBW Weatherproof Electrical, Outlet Kit with 1 Gang Box, Cover and GFCI Outlet, White

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent exterior GFCI outlet and box, July 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Excellent exterior GFCI outlet and box. Strong, sturdy, all metal box, quality (15 amp) outlet, and the company Greenfield was very responsive to my direct questions prior to purchase. Be sure not to screw the cover to the box so tightly that it bites throughout the weather sealing foam!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Well, Lasts Long, May 16, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I use this as an outdoor porch light, leaving the light switch on at all times and allowing the sensor to turn the light on and off. It has performed for nearly three months of constant (nighttime) use, throughout the harsh New England winter. (Edit - still going strong, with constant use, for over a year and through its second New England winter.)

Pfister 9109000 Ceramic Valve

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Replacement Cartridge, April 20, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After some research, I finally learned that this cartridge replaces either of the Pfister bathroom sink cartridges 910-681 and 910-691, for lever faucets. So this 910-9000 (sometimes seen as the 910-900) replaces either the hot or cold side, and you simply remove the clip, flip over the stop-out, and replace the clip to switch it from hot to cold (mine came set for hot rotation, which is what I needed).

There is a video showing how, at the "pfisterfaucets" website at /How-To-Center/how-to-videos/910900.aspx

The valve works great so far - no more drip drip drip. The faucet handle now turns incredibly smoothly, with perhaps too little resistance!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Laptop Cooling Fan, September 9, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Good size, good fan circulation (2 speeds), well built, and very quiet. Keeps the laptop cool, as promised. Only drawback is the bright blue LED light on the side, when it is on, which eerily illuminates a dark room - I could do without that.

Targus PA248U Notebook Chill Pad
Targus PA248U Notebook Chill Pad

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as Shown, May 5, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The cooling pad I received is not the same as the one shown. I had ordered this as a replacement to fit into a matching Targus laptop stand, and thus needed the one with the curved sides as shown in the image. None-the-less, I tried out this version of this fan, which is thinner and much quieter, but turned out to be not nearly as effective at cooling as the one with the curved sides shown in the image.

I followed the Amazon procedure for notifying them that the image doesn't match the product, but if you are still seeing the image of the silver-grey fan with the curved sides, you can see how effective that was!
